Bruce Mau

Bruce MauBy Marquel Wooten

Mau was born in Sudbury, Ontario. He studied at the Ontario College of Art & Design Toronto, but left

prior to graduation in order to join the fifty fingers design group in 1980. He stayed there for two years,

before crossing the ocean for a brief sojourn at pentagram in the UK.

There are 26 branches in the system, most of them named after the neighborhoods in which they are located.

Bruce Illustrated a NewWalt Disney concert hall designed by Bruce.

My favorite quote from Bruce is, “Don’t be cool. Cool is conservative fear dressed in black.”
