One hundred and thirty-seven years ago,
Franz and Anton Hamm founded the company
Maschinenfabrik Gebr. Hamm in Tirschenreuth, a
town in the heart of Europe. Since the beginning
of the 20th century, our company has specialised
in the manufacture of rollers for road building.
And in all this time, HAMM has been the motor
and the trendsetter in the industry. Many of the
technologies and solutions developed here have
become the present-day standard. Today we
rank among the world’s leading manufacturers
of compaction equipment for road-building and
earthworks.
A team of highly motivated engineers and
technicians develops the rollers at the parent
plant in Tirschenreuth. The extensive machine
programme encompasses numerous tandem
rollers, a wide choice of compactors as well
as various static rollers. Modern solutions for
the optimization of the compaction process
round off the product portfolio. They enable
HAMM to offer practical, tailor-made solutions
for all compaction tasks involved in road
building and earthworks.
All HAMM rollers as well as the roller drums are
produced in the Tirschenreuth factory. State-
of-the-art production processes allow every
machine to be finished individually to customer
specification. Extensive quality testing accom-
panies the production process.

The two-piece padfoot drums are a new addition. In no time, a smooth drum is transformed into a padfoot drum.
As with all HAMM machines, the compact
rollers are also extremely simple to
operate, with ergonomically optimised
working positions that ensure out-
standing visibility. Every manual operation
is perfectly matched with the arrange-
ment of the controls and the layout of
the cabin. In addition, drivers can easily
adjust the seat to their own weight and
size, making the machines perfectly
suited for rental companies.

3000 series
The 3000 series compactors welcome the
driver with a spacious cabin and high stand-
ards of driver comfort. In action on the
construction site, they stand out for their
remarkably high compaction power, small
turning circle and low noise emissions. Their
fuel consumption is impressively low while
their gradability is impressively high, espe-
cially on the Hammtronic equipped machines.
The tried and tested compactor
The service interface enables rapid status diagnosis and ensures reliable operation.
Easy servicing comes as standard: the engine is freely accessible from all sides.
• perfect visibility
• easy operation
• enormous gradability
• high compaction force
The Hammtronic monitors the traction drives and ena-bles the machine to climb slopes with a gradient of as much as 70 %, according to type.
Plate compactor
Easy to control and secure
Fitting is easy by means of a quick-
action coupling. All operating settings,
such as the lateral travel and lifting
are conveniently carried out from the
driver’s cabin.
Compaction force in all layers
The plate compactor attachment
is a practical complement for the
compactors, especially for efficient
compaction of non-cohesive soils in
one pass.
The principle is that the compactor
and its drum achieve enormous
penetration at low frequency and
high amplitude. The plate compactor
directly behind prevents reloosening
of the upper area.
The VC compactors with crusher drum
crush rock and compact it in a single
workstep. They are equipped with
special picks employing a patented
quick-change toolholder system. This
is used to compact and loosen rock or
stones, grade routes in rocky terrain,
or prepare and maintain underground
accessways. Padfoot attachments
can also be fixed as an alternative.
This enables the compactors to
compact cohesive soils or deal with
the compaction during cold recycling.

HCQ
In the oscillating drums, two
eccentric shafts enable quick forward
and reverse rotary movement. Large
forces are directed into the ground
without the roller drum being lifted
from the surface. In this way, the
machine permanently directs one
static load and one dynamic load into
the ground or asphalt.
For dynamic compaction, oscillation
increases the temperature window
towards lower temperatures, without
risk of damage to the asphalt. This is
highly advantageous, for example, in
the event of sudden onset of rain,
thin surfaces, or on bridges.
Oscillation enables an exceptionally
rapid increase in compaction,
reduces vibration in the surrounding
area and allows compaction to take
place in a very wide temperature
window.
The intelligent compaction A system for all applications
The HCQ Navigator is a satellite-supported system for the collection,
display and documentation of all essential compaction parameters
and of the compaction progress. The system functions with a sin-
gle roller or with a network of multiple rollers.
Oscillation
HAMMCompactionQuality
• High compaction power
• No over-compaction – no grain crushing
• Perfect, even surfaces – no risk of rippling
• No vibration in the surrounding area or in the machine
• No damage to joints (“cold side“)
• More efficient and safer work with low mix temperatures
• Fewer passes required
• Uniform compaction
• Self-regulating amplitude
HAMM: Inventor of oscillationOver 30 years of experience with oscillation
Efficient and gentle oscillation delivers high quality compacted joints. Because the roller drum remains in constant contact with the ground, without striking the surface, there is no damage to the adjoining cold asphalt.
Tandem rollers with oscillation have a vibration drum at the front and an oscillating drum at the rear.
The intelligent system
• Modular system
• Machine-independent system components
• Identical components for compactors, tandem rollers and rubber-wheeled rollers
• Internationally deployable
• Extremely straightforward operation
• Quick installation
• Data exchange between multiple machines, if desired
Advantages for compacting
• Continuous, uniform compaction
• Avoids over and under-compaction
• Higher quality through straightforward self-monitoring
• Increased efficiency thanks to the elimination of unnecessary passes
• Comprehensive compaction documentation
• Simple and secure data archival
