Hello! My name is Hilary Boyd and I am
currently a Senior at Wofford College. I am a
Spanish major with the Teacher Education
Program. I am from Atlanta, but fell in love with
the Upstate of South Carolina and plan to stay
here after graduation. I decided to pursue
language education after I had phenomenal
Spanish professors at Wofford and saw the
great need for more bilingual professionals in
our area. I want to get students excited about
Spanish and all the possibilities it opens to
them. In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with
friends, running, and cooking. I am looking
forward to this semester at Broome.
Thank you!
Hilary
Hello! My name is Chelsea Rogers, I am from
Anderson, South Carolina. I attend USC Upstate
where I am a Senior majoring in Secondary
Education with a concentration in Math
It’s great to be back! I graduated from Broome in the class of 2014, and
am currently enrolled in my final semester at USC Upstate. I previously
attended USC Union where I played baseball for one season. My
content area is English, one that I grew to love and appreciate during
my time here at Broome. I also coach during the summer for the Union
County American Legion baseball team. I am truly excited to grow and
learn as an educator and person, in addition to continuing to be a
lifelong student.

BELIEVE
With BELIEVE signs popping up all over
Broome, some students decided to artfully
represent their native countries with signs of
their own. This small group is a snapshot
reflection of the diverse cultures among the
students in our school. We BELIEVE that
heritage helps shape humanity, and these six
students are shining examples of heritage that
crosses borders and remains constant, shaping
young lives in new lands, a fiber that runs
through all that these students BELIEVE.

DMTC Senior students attended the Honda Historically Black Colleges and Universities
Recruitment Fair in Atlanta, Georgia at the Georgia World Congress Center. Many DMTC
students received on-site admissions, scholarships and application fee waivers, helping them
achieve their educational goals. Students gathered information and had meaningful conversations
with HBCU admission directors and counselors. Admissions professionals from over 40 HBCU
campuses were on-site at the Honda Historically Black Colleges and University (HBCU) College
and Recruitment Fair. The recruitment fair emphasized and stressed opportunities that exist at
HBCU’s as well as admissions requirements, scholarship requirements, and financial aid
opportunities. The face-to-face exposure for DMTC students with admission professionals from
many college campuses benefited DMTC Seniors, helping them achieve their educational post-
secondary goals.
