General informationThe Broom Ocean-37 is a seaworthy boat, built in 1976 by CJ Broom & Sons LTD at Northwick (GB). The hull is constructed from fibreglass and has a long chine. The hull has been treated in 2015 with semi-dry anti-fouling. The deck was re-coated with an anti-slip paint as recently as 2014. While the hull was professio-naly re-painted during 2013.

The boat is equipped with two 145 hp Perkins engines that are mounted in a steel frame. By operating the two props independently it’s easy to manouver the boat. There is a wheel in the salon as wel as one on the upper deck. The current owner (3rd) has had this boat in his possession since 2004. It has been meticulously main-tained, always in collaboration with marine profes-sionals. The berth is located in The Netherlands on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee. DescriptionThe dimensions of the Ocean-37 are: : Length 11.50 mtr, Width 3.80 mtr. Height 3.70 mtr. and the depth is 1 m. At the rear of the boat are two Davids to hang a small dingy, and two swimming platforms with an aluminum cover. At the water line are two trim tabs. Below the wa-terline are two rudders and two bronze props.

On top, the windows are made of aluminum and on each side of the boat, there are shift windows in all areas. The dark-blue canvas covers are removable in parts by zippers. At the bow of the boat there is an electric anchor winch and on the upper deck, there are two solar panels, a mast and a searchlight.

The interior is mainly teak finished and on the floor, car-pets with finished edges. The boat has two bedrooms, one in the aft section, whilst the bow section bedroom has a wide twin bed and a single bed. In the salon at the seating section it’s also possible to create two extra berths. There is enough height to stand up in all living areas for people of average height.

Continued descriptionBoth fore and aft bedrooms are equipped with toi-lets, a shower, a sink and hot and cold water. Both bedrooms have ample wardrobe and storage cabinet space.

The salon is equipped with a built-in radio and several storage cubboards, whilst behind, and beneath the se-ating area is also extra storage space. The comfortable seating area was as recent as 2015, fully re-upholstered proffesionally. Next to the lounge, there is a Pantry kitchen which contains a refrigerator with freezer, a countertop with a stainless steel sink with hot and cold water and a four-burner stove with oven and grill with extractor fans above.

All rooms have air heating, lights and plenty of po-werpoints. The floors consist of separate panels with fire retardant sound insulation. Below these boards are the motors, the heating system, whose pots, a fresh water pump and tank, a shower drain water pump, batteries, a boiler and the diesel tanks.

Continued descriptionThe inverter is installed in a cabinet next to the stairs which take care of the correct voltage at the right pla-ce, 220. 24 or 12 volt. Furthermore, a fire extinguisher, a smoke detector and a carbon monoxide alarm are present in the salon. The motors can be started and turned off as well on the dashboard in the salon. There is also the operation of the navigation lights, the bilge pump, the parallel wiper, the reading of the necessary clocks for control and a fixed helm installation.

On top under the hood the cockpit is equipped with the necessary clocks and a compass and there is an intercom and a marine phone system provided with a loudspeaker and a horn. Furthermore, the dashboard is equipped with a 220V outlet and distribution con-tacts for 12v plugs and USB connection and a mobile phone holder as well. Behind the wheel is a movable and adjustable captain’s seat. In addition, there are three permanent seats of which two are fold-open seats where a camping gas tank is placed and where all kinds of stuff can be stowed.
