The tiger keeper told me that this 12 year old Siberian tiger is called Sasha. He was huge! One of 5 Siberian tigers at the zoo.

The Asian Forest monorail. The carriages were positioned sideways for better viewing of animals in the trees and on the ground. At this point we are

travelling across the Bronx River that runs through the Zoo.

The polar bear had a capsule shaped ball that made it very easy to rest on in the pool.

It’s a big zoo. The train made it easy to get around to see as many exhibits as I could fit into one day.

The indoor exhibits such as the Asian Jungle and this part of the Congo area, had wonderful hand-made faux trees!

The gorilla exhibit in the Congo area was wonderful. I was able to identify many of the gorillas using this helpful sign.

I think this is Fran. She seemed to be having an interesting time checking out all the visitors. I wanted to spend more time in her company.
