• Sharing tips and strategies with other coaches

• Looking at the big picture (beyond sport)

• Each week, I come closer to delivering the elite experience I want to provide for my athletes

Nutrition

• Mindful of the influence of nutrition on energy levels

• Meet the basic needs:• High School students do not get enough

sleep• Fatigue and illness obvious in body language

• Include Energy Systems on practice plans

• Test to monitor improvement• Sport Specific (Agility Tests, Sargeant Jump)• General Fitness (Leger Test)

Season Update

• Boys Volleyball Team qualified for OFSAA• Played exhibition season short-handed

• Several practices cancelled due to gym space

• The Athletic Director has caused a lot of red tape

• Current team focus:• Raising our intensity in practice and games

My Feelings About This

• When confronted by adversity I only know how to persevere

• An article about Hubie Brown and his passion for coaching was personally energizing

What’s Next?

• Frustration aside, I still love coaching

• Looking forward to the rest of the season

• Investigating founding my own basketball club• Midget/Juvenile Boys

• Trying hard to get back into the C.I.S..• It’s a level that is a better fit for me than

high school
