PJ Analyzer/Optimizer, Application

PJ Analyzer/Optimizer supports efficient PDF printing and helps avoid production hitches and standstills that are due to inaccurate or faulty PDF files. This makes it the perfect tool for any pre-flight environment.

Smooth job processing and print production much depend on the quality and accuracy with which PDF files are generated. Missing embedded fonts, mis-matched resolution or a wrong colour gamut can quick-ly result in faulty output, or in extreme cases might stop production altogether.

PJ Analyzer automates prepress production and checks whether print jobs can be processed, identifying prob-lems before misprints are output. Print Job Optimizer not only checks the print job but also corrects mistakes in the print file. Problems are identified and rectified, altogether avoiding production interruptions.

n PJ Analyzer/Optimizer improves the quality of PDF files and also supports JPEG, TIFF, DOC, PS and EPS files.

n With its modular structure, PJ Analyzer/Optimizer allows easy customisation to any customer’s specific needs.

n PJ Analyzer/Optimizer includes powerful modules for everyday prepress tasks, such as preflight, normaliza-tion, optimization, advanced corrections, JDF-based imposition, colour management, proofing.

n PJ Analyzer/Optimizer is a must-have tool for every print provider who wants to automate his prepress production and enhance his productivity.

The suite of PJ software products helps keep the print workflow running and saves time and money for both, the print provider and his customer.

Key features PJ Analyzer

n Normalizer This tool converts Postscript data and images into PDF format. Images like TIFF, JPEG or ScitexCT are directly converted without RIPing or the use of any other func-tionality. Mixed jobs, defined through PJTF or JDF job tickets are also directly converted into PDF data.

n Pre-flight check PDF files can be checked for more than 150 details, including embedded fonts, correct gamut, etc. For enhanced transparency, the individual characteristics are grouped into different categories. After checking, processing of the file can continue, the job can be put on hold or the print data transmitted to the workflow.

n Resource module The workflow utilises this module whenever exter-nal resources, such as images, ICC profiles, fonts or dynamic configuration data are required for job processing

n Output folder After processing, files are sent to this local or network directory, which is always the backend of the workflow.

n Archive Incomplete or faulty jobs can be saved here. Files can be parked here temporarily and processed later

Key features PJ Optimizer PJ Optimizer is based on the PJ Analyzer functionality and additionally includes:n Toolbox

Optimizing incoming PDF files, the toolbox performs various standard optimization procedures, e.g. hair-line correction, automatic black overprint, automatic white overprint removal, smoothness and flatness correction.

n Colour Mapper This tool facilitates managing and unifying differ-ent colour names, e.g. of spot colours in PDF files, such as Adobe Illustrator colours in an EPS file imported into Quark XPress.

n Colour Manager Provides colour corrections with ICC profiles, offering various correction procedures for text, vector objects, halftones, etc. This also applies to conversions, e.g. from RGB to CMYK or CMYK to CMYK. This colour management module works with Hexachrome, LAB and DeviceLink.

n FontToCurves Converts all fonts included in the job into vector graphics or Typo3 fonts.
