POWER GENERATION SERVICES

The Power Generation Business Line offers services to the players in this market, assisting the

client from the first plant design stages to commissioning and final delivery.

During the design stage, Polaris provides specialist multidisciplinary consultancy related to

systems and main equipment, whether traditional thermoelectric power plants (steam turbines,

gas turbines, generators, fired boilers and recovery boilers, transformers) or renewable energy

(hydraulic, wind, photovoltaic) and nuclear plants.

During the development phase, Polaris supports the client in monitoring suppliers and for all site

activities, from construction management to supervision of works, to plant start-up and temporary

operation. Furthermore, Polaris has its own engineering team, specialized in drawing up plant

Operation & Maintenance Manuals and Training Manuals and in the complete management of

training courses, in the classroom as well as on-the-job training for the personnel involved in

operations and maintenance activity in the power plant. Services offered are structured in three

Polaris assists the client in the preparation of specifications for tenders and technical/economic

analyses of offers received from external suppliers/contractors and subsequent alignments as

well as in the assessment of third party contractual specifications, risk analysis and development

of technical offers and related lists of materials. Contract Managers and Risk Managers with great

experience support the client’s Project Manager as regards the accurate and timely management

of projects and containment of associated risks:

� Risk categorisation (probability/severity)

� Identification of risks associated with the project

� Analysis of consequences in terms of me and costs

� Identification of mitigation measures

� Drawing up and management of the Risk Register

� Support for the management of contracts

� Development and management of claims

TECHNICAL SUPPORT HEALTH AND SAFETY

Polaris offers competent assistance as regards safety at work and environmental protection in

order to implement measures to protect worker health and safety. Polaris guarantees competent

and proper support in relation to accident prevention and worker protection, in line with the

requirements of Italian legislative decree no 81 dated 9 April 2008 and subsequent amendments

and integrations, by making selected and qualified consultants and operators available to clients.

The service is provided by specialized personnel at both Polaris offices and at the work sites

concerned. Polaris provides high qualified skills in:
