Perceptron (NASDAQ:PRCP) was founded in 1981 by graduates of General MotorsInstitute (formerly GMI and now Kettering University). Working closely with theautomotive industry, they analyzed and comprehended the damaging effects ofprocess variation on complex product assembly operations and concluded a process

Dimensional Gauging

Perceptrons precision non-contact fully automateddimensional gauging solutions provide real-time processand part quality information. Systems can be suppliedin-line to monitor production or near-line to supportmanufacturing operations. Perceptrons bespoke turnkeyengineering team will design a customized solution usingour standard modules and sensors to inspect criticalfeatures and part characteristics. Perceptron gaugingsolutions are well proven in the most rugged of industrialenvironments with over 900 installations in daily use.

Advanced software allows monitoring of both part qualityand manufacturing process either locally at the inspectioncell or remotely from any global location, providing bothdiscrete feature measurement and 3D scanning data.

Coordinate Measuring Machines

The COORD3 Coordinate Measuring Machine familyoffers advanced platforms from a budget bench-top CMM to some of the largest Gantry CMMs everinstalled in aerospace, defense and heavy equipmentindustries. All CMMs are produced from advancedalloy technology and can be equipped with Renishawprobes and Perceptron laser scanning sensors for allmeasuring applications.

Bridge CMMCOORD3 Bridge CMMs are available in widthsfrom 400mm to 2000mm and offer best-in-classdynamic performance. COORD3 is unique inoffering an overlap between its large Bridge andGantry CMMs that retain open access for partloading. They are available with one piece graniteor steel tables, in lengths up to 10m.

Gantry CMMInspection of large components requires a blend oflarge CMM volume and high accuracy performance.With over 30 years experience in the designand construction of CMM machines, COORD3Gantry style CMMs are characterized by suprememechanical design and structural stability ensuringlong-term accurate performance. COORD3 Gantrymodels can be supplied with up to 5000mm X axis,3000mm Z axis, and Y axis lengths up to 20m.

Arm systems are

Supplied with ScanWorks Studio software, theprocessing of scanned 3D objects is fast and easywith the work- ow taking the user through a step-by-step process. Data can be exported as a polygonisedmesh for both 3D printing and reverse engineeringapplications.

PCMM ScanningThe Perceptron PCMM scanner, with itswide eld of view and user friendlyrange nding projector, wasdeveloped speci cally for theportable scanning market andis certi ed for use by thelargest North Americanaerospace company.

PCMM scanning systemsare less accurate thantraditional CMM scanning,but their portability allowsmeasurement at thepart location to supportinspection of overly largeand heavy parts.

Perceptrons fully automated, shop-hardenedproduction scanning systems capture a 3D digitalrepresentation of the part. Upon completion of thedata acquisition and analysis process, the systemautomatically presents a customized report highlightingcomplex form and surface deviations relative to thepart CAD model, together with discrete information forcritical features such as edges, holes, slots and studs.

CMM ScanningPerceptron offers its laser scanner with new CMMs oras a retro t package to be used on existing manual orCNC CMMs. Perceptrons scanning technology is theundisputed market leader, having been supplied bymost major CMM OEMs around the world under theirown branding. HelixPerceptrons family of next generation 3D smartscanning sensors incorporate MEMS technologyoffering the worlds rst fully programmable laser

scanner. The laser line quantity, density, length andorientation characteristics are all user programmableand eliminate the necessity to physically movethe scanner over the part during scanning. Allscanning motion is contained within the patentedHelix smart sensor, dramatically improving qualityand accuracy of scanned data. It also allows you tocapture multiple part features in one sensor positionensuring both accurate and repeatable measurementresults. Helix contains an imbedded accelerometer

to determine real-time sensor orientation. It wasdeveloped speci cally for advanced robotic inspectionapplications where the robot moves the sensor todiscrete measuring positions where the Helix sensorcollecting all required measurement data.

TriCamTriCam, Perceptrons 3rd generation series of lasertriangulation sensors, are available in variouscon gurations to suite speci c measurementapplications. The TriCam imbedded on-board processorallows programming via an intranet and performsrun-time image processing and algorithm computationwhile returning X, Y, Z data to the seamlessly integrated

Vector software platform. TriCam sensor calibrationand identi cation data are also integral in the sensor.

The tabbed work- ow design ofthe ScanWorks Studio interface creates a positive andintuitive experience that can be quickly learned allowingusers to commence laser part scanning tasks with just afew hours training. Repetitive part scanning is achievedusing the Auto Rescan feature, and created STL scandata can be enhanced using tools such as automatichole lling, smoothing, mesh decimation and re ne.

TouchDMIS TM Makes CMM measurement simple by incorporatinga 100% Touch interface with optional TouchCAD TM quick programming module. TouchDMIS is a game

changer in CMM usability offering the worlds rst ALL TOUCH CMM software. Seamlessly integratedwith both manual and DCC CMMs, and with Touchand Scanning Probes, TouchDMIS TM requires just afew hours training and offers incredibly short learningcurves.
