Ater I got my bachelor degree at BUAA (Beijing University oAeronautics and Aerospace), I heard that there is an opportunityo the AIRBUS scholarship program to study the Master oScience in Aerospace Mechanics and Avionics at ISAE. As ISAEis the best European school or aeronautics, I’m very grateul orAIRBUS and ISAE gave me this opportunity to make my dreamcome true. During the two years at ISAE, we had classes not

only in technologies but also in lots o other domains, suchas management, language and culture. More than hal othe classes are given by proessors who are come rom theindustrial companies, AIRBUS, CNES, ONERA, EUROCOPTER,etc. We learnt the knowledge by a more proessional way withhelps a lot in our uture career. The internship which took placeat the last semester gives us a great opportunity to link whatwe have learnt at school to what we are going to do as a jobin the uture. For me, I have perormed a six months internshipat AIRBUS France which is a precious chance to me and leadsme to my uture career. Ater this internship, I was recruited bySOGETI High Tech which is a subcontractor o AIRBUS and I’mworking now on some projects o structure calculation on the

AIRBUS amily aircrats. More over, this two years mater is aninternational program with students coming rom all over theword. Here, we got the chance to know the dierent culturesand ways o thinking in dierent countries and we made greatriendship which we will never orget».

According to your experience, which are the strong assets of

the Master you did ?

First o all, I have learned a lot o associated courses about myuture work such as structure mechanics, modeling analysis,CATIA, composite materials, acoustics and mechanics olaminated structures, calculation structures, landing gear, and soon. For the sotware part, I have obtained many experiencesrom workshops with SAMCEF, Patran/Nastran, CATIA,

MATLAB, and COMSOL. In addition, I have one year o researchexperience in Supaero participating in the study o the Eecto Heat Generation in a High Frequency Solicited CompositeBeam, which combines the theory part I have learned andthe practice. This research experience not only developed myproessional knowledge but also enhanced my practical skills.Besides, I have nished my design project in ENSICA campus, which is about the center wing box conception project. I am incharge o the structure design in CATIA, detailed calculationo the loads and analysis o the atigue lie o the center wingbox. I have learned a lot rom this, and I know how to cooperatein team-work. And I think all o these mentioned above shouldbe the strong assets o DNM AMA I have choosed.

Which are your career plans ?

To persue this master program is a crucial step in my uturecareer. Ater the graduation, I will go back to China and try mybest to be a good teacher in my university, and many thanks orISAE to oer me proound knowledge and devoted attention.

Pau LAtorrE - Spai, egiee Aibus - Gaduaed i2012 - MSc AESS

Why did you choose ISAE and apply for our master ? What were yourobjectives ?

I chose ISAE because o its reputation as I knew that Supaeroand ENSICA where among the top aerospace colleges inEurope. Also Toulouse is the center o the the aerospacecommunity in Europe and so I regarded it as positive or mycareer prospects i I wanted to orientate my proessional uturein this eld. My objectives, as my previous education was inanother eld o engineering, were to provide mysel with ahigh-level ormal education in aeronautics. This way I couldmigrate rom telecom engineering to aerospace engineeringand pursue a career in aviation which is my biggest passion.

According to your experience, which are the strong assets of

the Masteryou did ?

The stronger assets would be the strong ties to the aerospaceindustry in Toulouse, and the act that many o the lecturers inthe courses come rom it. This means that you get to be taughtby real-lie engineers who are working in actual aerospaceprojects presently, and thus are not just devoted to academicsas happens too oten. Personally, I am specially attracted bythe act that many lecturers come rom Airbus.

Which are your career plans ?

I wish to work or Airbus, i possible in fight test engineering.

Why did you choose ISAE and apply for our master ? What were

yourobjectives ?

I chose ISAE SM AMS because o two reasons: 1. Maintenanceis much more interesting than manuacture, because work itselmoves you towards new challenges every single day. Every day youexperience something new, always trying to nd new approachesto given tasks that might ease up the process, etc. - it’s motivating!2. I have passion or aviation in general - I cannot imagine myselwithout it, and here in Toulouse, in the heart o European civilaviation I really eel like at home.

According to your experience, which are the strong assets of the

Master you did ?

One o the strong key points is that people who gave us lectureswere not just proessors with theoretical knowledge, but simpleguys who work on their subject that puts ood on their table, andnow they come to us, to transer their knowledge gained notthrough reading endless number o books, but having valuableexperience in their work domain.

Which are your career plans ?

Stay in France. I have my contract signed with company in Toulousethat manuactures ground support equipment and tooling oraircrats. I think that it’s good start or my proessional lie becauseover here I’m seeing equipment that is dedicated to perormmaintenance. But I’m sure, that i not or this master in ISAE, Iwould never been able to nd something even close like this!

AimsAircrat airworthiness must be considered as a coherent

process running rom the design o the aircrat to themonitoring o its technical condition in airline service. TheMaster in Aviation Saety – Aircrat Airworthiness coversboth the technical aspects o certication and the legal andeconomic implications. This course has been designed togive uture managers a broad understanding o the issuesand priorities which, as ar as aeronautical construction isconcerned, have an international dimension.

Air transport deregulation and the development o a globaleconomy necessarily imply an increase in vigilance on behalo both the regulatory authorities and the industry. Progressregarding saety has been constant. During the last 30 years,

the accident rate per fight hour has been reduced by a actoro 10. This is becoming insucient due to the considerableincrease in trac. Current trends should encourage us tomake even more improvements, and this necessarily involvestrainings. The Master in Aviation Saety Aircrat Airworthinesswill provide uture operators with the key to success in timesto come.

Dimiis Filis, Geece, Gaduaed i 2012Why did you choose ISAE and apply for our master? What were

your objectives?

ISAE is a world class research and teaching Institute, oering high standards oeducation. Beore studying there, I knew that I would have the great opportunityto deal with important Proessors, share academic lie with scientists rom allover the world and live in Toulouse, which is the heart o Europe’s aerospaceindustry and also oers a wide variety o cultural activities and beautiulnatural landscapes. Besides that, my undergraduate studies in Electrical andComputer Engineering sharpened my ocus on the specic area and my diplomathesis in aircrat recognition and tracking, made real what I had imagined asa complete real-time embedded system. The combination o these two elds

o computer science, sotware and hardware, was the most intriguing part omy undergraduate studies, and led my enthusiasm to learn in more detail howembedded systems work and how they are programmed in order to produce anembedded electronic device. In my opinion, in the intermediate level betweenhardware and sotware, lies the more ascinating eld o computer science calledembedded systems, which in terms o limitations, such as computational andelectrical power, is the most challenging. Embedded systems are everywhere.Everyone, with or without knowledge, is using embedded systems every day. From digital televisions to mobile phones and rom cars to household appliances, every embedded system is interesting. The complexity o these devices and thediculties arising by their demands in eciency and usability place them high inthe technological achievements list o the 21st century. Their production spreadsin a great range o markets, rom the least to the most critical one, such asmedical instruments. Only engineers with an integrated specialized backgroundwill be able to give ecient solutions. Consequently, I consider “EmbeddedSystems” to be one o the most enticing and compelling elds o study.

According to your experience, which are the strong assets of the

Master you did?

The act that the program is supported by the embedded systems industrybrings the advantage o gaining specialized knowledge on this eld, whileexploring and discovering new technologies and understanding the marketdemands with the direction o the industry experts. In that way the programoers numerous career opportunities, which will obviously benet the jobpursuit process. The industry placement during the second semester o theprogram gives the opportunity o learning in practice what was taught duringthe rst semester by combining and applying the knowledge gained throughthe dierent projects and lab sessions at ISAE and at ENSEEIHT. Additionally,

ISAE is a well-known “Grande École” with high admission standards caringnot only about its students’ high technical skill level but also or promotingtheir multinational culture and spirit, and, in that way, contributing to acreative and dynamic work environment. In such an environment, where theexchange o ideas is cultivated and the share o experiences is ostered, thestudents have the opportunity to benet rom their valuable collaborationand to eel comortable while enjoying their studies. Last but not least, lie inToulouse is really enjoyable. Toulouse, 4th largest city in France and 2nd instudent population, oers a wide variety o dierent activities.(…)

Which are your career plans?

(…) The combination o a highly appreciated diploma rom ISAE and theexperience gained through the 4 to 6-month industry placement playsan important role on the job pursuing process. Personally, the “AdvancedMaster in Embedded Systems” boosted the number o contacts I had orjob interviews, and through the relationships I have built this whole year Ihave developed a strong network. This network ensures now a dynamic andsuccessul career which is about to start in the near uture.

of the master you did?

In the eld o the fight test engineering, I think that thisadvanced master is the best choice.. Either the workingmethods or the technical skills taught, give the necessarybackground to start a job in this eld. Moreover the highqualiying level o the lecturers insures an optimal eciencyo your learning in the fight test engineering.Which are your career plans?

The main objective o this advanced master is to be involved inthe fight test engineering, not as a fight test engineer but asa test engineer either specialized in the fight or ground test.

I am working in Thales China as a PPC (Processing, Computing,Cognitive) Engineer in R&D (Research and Development) atergraduated rom SEN, one master o ISAE. I was so lucky tobe accepted by ISAE, whose academic environment is soproessional and the aculties are so responsible. In SEN, I learnedthe practical knowledge given by the proessional teachers whohave been or long years in the industry. The teachers are romeach domain, who taught us by the easily understandable wayswith their rich experience. All the topics were cutting edge inindustry, which are innovative and interesting. Besides that, Iloved so much o the atmosphere o SEN, where the riendshipswere very strong. People rom dierent countries always helpedeach other and so many exotic dinners held by classmatesenhanced my knowledge o international courtesy and custom. In SEN, I was getting more and more open-minded, active andmotivated, which are the most important in one’s career».

Gajeda KAShYAP, Idia, Csula Sysem Egieea Ala eclgies, Gaduaed i 2011

Why did you choose ISAE and apply for our master? What

were your objectives?

The main reason to choose ISAE was its location in the hubo aerospace industry in Europe and association with the

industry to provide subject lectures rom industry expertswhich is unparallel. The other reasons are the compositiono the course subjects themselves and the duration o thecourse which met my expectations very well. Coming with asignicant and diverse experience in the aerospace industryin avionics and fight simulation, this course had everything Ineeded to move ahead. My objectives were to understand toelevate mysel to the level o system engineer by acquiring theskills through this course and they have been met.

According to your experience, which are the strong assets of

the Master you did?

The strong assets o the master course are the interaction withthe people rom industry, the experience they share on thesubjects being taught. The biggest asset is that these peopleare not just teaching theory but giving a real perspective othe application o engineering to real problems to be solvedwhen we work in the industry. It was easier to correlate withthe experience.

Which are your career plans ?

I’m happy to share that I’ve ound a job with Altran Technologies

in Toulouse and I will be working as Consultant System Engineerwith them on Airbus projects. In near uture I would like to bea System Engineering Manager, so I think this is a good start.
