Medical College. Every working moment at S.S.M.C is filled with keen pursuit of
improvement and perfection.
Established in the year 1988, the campus is spread over a vast area of 250 acres,
S.S.M.C has a class infrastructure with a built up area of 75000 Sq.mts. It has
proficient & dedicated faculty driven by a commitment to give the best to the ailing in
the community, the knowledge to student and thereby be of service to humanity.
The teaching hospital has 990 bedded hospital with 12 major operation theatres
along with a trauma care unit, ICU, CCU, NICU and male and female wards etc. The
Radiology department is provided with Latest Spiral CT, MRI, Mammography and
other imaging equipments.
All departments are equipped with latest medical equipments. All the lecture
halls are fitted with audio visual aids. Teaching disciplines are housed in separate
buildings. A modern fully air conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of 1200 is
built in the campus. This serves as the venue for conducting seminars/conferences and
cultural festivals. Separate hostel accommodation is available for both boys and girls
having facilities for recreation, indoor sports, gym, television, internet, cafeteria, lockers

etc. The campus also has banking with ATM and post office facility along with food
courts, stationary and pharmacy stores.

All the department are well equipped with Experimental laboratory, Practical
Laboratory, spacious Lecture hall, Demonstration room, Practical class room, aided
with Audio-visual equipments. The staff consists of highly qualified and experienced
Professors and Surgeons.
Besides teaching and training the students to MBBS Course, the department has
special diagnostic laboratories like Diagnostic Bacteriology, Serology and Immunology,
Mycology, Protozoology, Helminthology, Histopathology, Cytology and Haematology etc.,

RESEARCH
Research is a part of the academic activity. To promote research a separate
Research Centre is established. Many research projects are under progress and some
are on the pipe line. Research papers are published at National and International level.
The Institute organizes Guest Lectures regularly to benefit both students and staff.
CENTRAL LIBRARY
College has a well equipped library in separate building with a built up area of more than 17000 Sq.ft.
It has a collection of 20000 books and 200 Journals (both Indian & International).
A digital library is housed in the library by which students can access a large
number of e-Journals & e-books.
Internet Connection has been provided, for the benefit of students and staff.
The library is kept open till late evening all the days.
The centre has of collection of corporate annual reports pertaining to private /
public sector undertakings and project reports on different areas of research. The
library is laid out spaciously. Its eco-friendly environment provides calm and
peaceful environment for learning.
The centre has a book bank facility.

HOSPITAL
SSMC Hospital has separate building for OPD and Casualty with independent
departments of Medicine, Surgery, OBG, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Paediatrics,
ENT, Dermatology, and Radiology. It is a 990 bedded hospital, fully equipped with 12
major operation theaters in addition to minor operation theaters. SSMC is catering to
the needs of rural population. There are skilled doctors with specially trained nurses to
give a healing touch to the patients. The layout, interiors and exteriors of the Hospital
are aesthetically designed so that every facet : waiting areas, corridors, rooms, wards, as
well as the neatly manicured lawns, all provide a soothing ambience for patients and
their visitors. Apart from the most advanced medical gadgets and equipments, the
Hospital has introduced several new services for the convenience of the populace in the
region. The enormous advantage of having such a campus is that the students get a
unique and practical insight into a contemporary medical world, giving them a head
start and lending a rare perspective to their academic pursuits.
HEALTH CENTRE
A furnished & well equipped primary health center having a plinth area of 360smt
is situated in the campus with aim “to serve the needy population of localities around
the health center." Health centre has well experienced qualified doctors & staffs. The
facilities available in the health center are a minor operation theater, a preliminary
testing laboratory & well furnished wards in case of emergency. All this facilities are
extended to students, staffs & campus inmates. Health center covers the area which is
coming under Tumkur CMC ward no. 29 & 30.

1. Admission Process As per the directives of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and the Ordinances promulgated by the Central Government. Admission to undergraduate courses in Medical (MBBS) and Dental (BDS) for academic year 2017-18 in constituent colleges of Sri Siddhartha Medical College and Sri Siddhartha Dental College will be done on the basis of marks obtained in The NEET (UG) 2017.Admission process will be carried out by DGHS (Directorate General of Health Services, Govt. of India) Ministry of Health & Family Welfare for academic year 2017-18.

3. Distribution of Seats
a) General Category: 85 % seats are reserved under this category. Admission to this category will be made on the basis of NEET (UG) 2017 Merit list.
b) NRI (Non Resident Indians) / PIO (Persons of Indian Origin) / FN (Foreign
Nationals) Category: 15 % seats are reserved under this Category.
The Foreign National (FN),wards of Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) settled abroad and wards of Non Resident Indians (NRI) are eligible to apply under this category.
4. Eligibility and Qualifications
Candidate must be an Indian National. The Nationality Certificate issued by the District Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate /Chief Metropolitan Magistrate or a valid passport will be considered as a proof of Nationality.
The candidate must be born on or before 31st December 2000

Candidate must have passed any of the qualifying examinations as
enumerated below. The Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to (10+2) Higher/Senior Secondary Examination which is conducted after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Bio-technology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English as a core course.
NOTE: where the course content is not as prescribed for 10 +2 education structure of the National Committee, the candidates will have to undergo a period of one year pre -professional training before admission to the Medical Colleges.
OR The Intermediate/Pre-degree Examination in Science of an Indian
University/Board or other recognised examining body with Physics, Chemistry, Biology /Bio-technology (which shall include practical test in these subjects) and also English as compulsory subject.
OR The Pre-professional/Pre-medical Examination with Physics, Chemistry,
Biology/Biotechnology & English after passing either the Higher Secondary Examination or Pre- University or an equivalent examination. The Pre-professional/Pre-medical examination shall include practical test in these subjects and also English as compulsory subject.
OR The first year of the three years degree course of a University recognized
by University Grants Commission (UGC) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology including practical tests in these subjects, provided the examination is a University Examination and further that he/she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English.
OR B.Sc. Examination of an Indian University recognized by University
Grants Commission (UGC), provided that he/she has passed B.Sc. Examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Bio-technology and further that he/ she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English
OR Any other examination which in scope and standard is found to be
equivalent to the Intermediate Science Examination of an Indian University/Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology including practical tests in each of these subjects and English. For such

qualification, the candidate are required to obtain equivalence certificate from AIU (Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi).
Candidate belonging to general category must have passed in the subjects
of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology taken together at the qualifying examination.
Candidate belonging to backward classes (SC, ST, & OBC) must have
passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Biotechnology taken together at qualifying examination.
Candidates belonging to the backward class must attach a copy of the
caste and caste validity certificate along with the application form. It should however be noted that there is no reservation for students belonging to Backward class. This certificate is required in support of relaxation of eligibility criteria i.e. if such a candidate gets admission on the basis of NEET (UG) 2017, but has secured less than 50% marks in qualifing examinations.
Candidates Qualified (10+2) under a foreign system in India, are required

Candidates belonging to general category who secure minimum of marks
at 50 percentile in NEET (UG) 2017 and satisfy the eligibility norms laid down by respective councils will be eligible for admission to MBBS / BDS Courses .
Candidates belonging to backward classes (SC/ST/NT & OBC) who secure
minimum of marks at 40 percentile in NEET (UG) 2017 and satisfy the eligibility norms laid down by respective councils will be eligible for admission to MBBS / BDS Courses.
5. Submission of Application form & processing fee 5.1. Filling of Application form

The students are required to fill online application form to participate in admission process . The form is available on www.mcc.nic.in i.e. website of Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family welfare Govt. of India. 6. Processing Fee The processing fee is Rs.1,500/- . The fee is payable in cash. 7. Display of Merit List & Selection Process : As directed on website of Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family welfare Govt. of India i.e. www.mcc.nic.in. b. Mode of Payment - At the time of counseling, the candidate will have to bring a demand draft of entire fees mentioned in clause (a) above in favour of “Secretary, Sri Siddhartha Medical College” payable @ Tumkur, for Medical Courses and ”Secretary, Sri Siddhartha Dental College” payable @ Tumkur for Dental Courses Only Nationalized Banks Demand Drafts (D.D.) will be accepted. The request for extension of time limit for payment or to accept partial payment will not be entertained under any circumstances. 10. Cancellation of admission & refund of fees a) Cancellation : A candidate who has confirmed his / her admission may cancel it by submitting an application to the Competent Authority, along with the following....
I. Application for cancellation duly signed by the candidate & co - signed by Parent / Guardian.
II. Original Admission Letter III. Original Fees Receipts
b) Cancellation and Refund Policy for undergraduate course. : A candidate who has confirmed his / her admission may cancel it by submitting an application to the Competent Authority, SSMC or SSDC After cancellation of Admission, following rules for refund of fees will be binding on candidate
1) Candidate should inform the institution about his intention to join or not to join the institution.
2) It is mandatory to join the institution in stipulated time as mentioned in
counseling schedule to the DGHS or else his admission stands cancel and vacant seat will be made available to subsequent rounds.
3) If candidate cancels the admission before commencement of academic
session i.e. 1st August. The Entire amount of Annual Tuition Fees will be refunded after deduction of processing fee of Rs. 5,000/-.
4) If candidate does not inform the institution about his intention or does not
join within 7 days after start of academic session, his admission stands cancelled. However in such case if institution not able fill up the seat even by end of 30 days after opening academic session, then Annual Fees collected will be refunded after deduction of 50% of the fees collected and processing fee of Rs.10,000/- .
5) If candidate cancels the admission after commencement of academic
session i.e. 1st August. The Entire amount of Annual Tuition Fees will be refunded after deduction of processing fee of Rs. 10,000/-.
6) No cancellation is permitted after second round of admission by DGHS.
7) The refund clause mentioned above will also be applicable to the
candidates admitted in subsequent round(s).

8) All Deposits will be refunded in full.
9) The eligible refund will be made within 30 days from date of application
for cancellation along with original receipt of fees paid. No Correspondence in this regard will be entertained during this period.
10) After IInd Round of Admission by DGHS, In event of failure to continue
the chosen undergraduate program, for what ever reasons, the students will be liable to pay the complete course fee to secure NOC and return of original documents from the institute concerned. Application needs to be submitted to the Principal/ Dean of the institute to this effect.
c) Cancellation during the conduct of the course In event of failure to qualify or continue the chosen UG programme, for whatever reasons, the students will be liable to pay the complete course fee to secure NOC and return of original documents from the institute concerned. Application needs to be submitted to the Principal/ Dean of the college to this effect. 11. Medical Fitness Test Selected candidate will have to undergo medical fitness test, before medical board of Sri Siddhartha Medical College & Sri Siddhartha Dental College and submit Medical Fitness Certificate duly signed by Medical Superintendent, SSMC or SSDC within seven days from the commencement of course failing which his/her admission may lead to cancellation and forfeiture of the fees paid. 12. Commencement of Classes The M.B.B.S. & B.D.S. course will commence from 01/08/ 2017. Candidates will be required to be present in the campus and report to the Dean / Principal of the respective college to which he / she is admitted. 13. Discipline The candidates admitted in the constituent colleges of the University are subject to the discipline and conduct rule of the SSAHE University. A Disciplinary Committee will deal with all cases either suo-moto or when referred to by the Dean / Principal of the concerned College. The decision of the Vice-Chancellor shall be final in this regard.

14. Dress Code The admitted candidates will be required to dress & they have to adhere to the following dress code of the University.

15. Court Jurisdiction All legal disputes related to admission procedure to constituent colleges of Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education are subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts at Tumkur and High Court of Bangalore bench at Karnataka, with advance legal notice of one month to SSAHE University. 16. Disclaimer Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education has not authorized any individual as agent or agency to deal with the admission in their constituent colleges. The SSAHE University will not be responsible for any activities of such individuals or agencies. It should also be noted that the contents of the Prospectus are subject to changes as the University may deem fit. Ragging Ragging within or outside the educational Institutions is strictly prohibited. Ragging is a criminal offence as per dictate of Supreme Court. The University has framed rules and regulations in this regard as per UGC guidelines. 18. Hostel Rules and Regulations The Hostel rules called “ Hostel Rules & Regulations” are binding on a student pursuing his / her studies in constituent colleges of SSAHE.The booklet containing Hostel Rules will be provided to each admitted student at the time of counseling. Students residing in hostel (Boys and Girls Hostel), whenever proceeding to home on emergency or weekend or holiday he/ she should complete the laid down procedure of the hostel. If the students......
1) Leave the hostel premises without seeking necessary permission form hostel authorities or any intimation or not following laid down procedure of the hostel.
2) Do not return or intimate his/ her arrival in hostel in time it will be
considered as responsibility of the concerned student and legal parents guardian.
3) In such situation it is mandatory for parents to report of whereabouts of
their ward In any circumstances, legal guardian to intimate concerned authorities with necessary documents as proof.
Violation of the disciplinary rules will be followed by disciplinary action as per SSAHE /SSMC/SSDC rules. The university provides comfortable hostel accommodation. Adequate number of international standard hostels for undergraduate and post graduate students of all disciplines (separate for boys and girls) with multi-gym, Wifi, indoor sports and advanced communication facilities are provided in the campus. 19. Status Retention Form Candidate admitted to MBBS/BDS course during 1st round by DGHS & desire to retain the status can submit a letter in the form of Status Retention 23. Willingness to participate in 2nd Round Candidates admitted to MBBS/BDS course during 1st round by DGHS & desire to participate in 2nd round can submit the application to this affect to college However candidate can submit their choices for 2nd round; Choices can be submitted online on www.mcc.nic.in.
