President’s Message

Chancellor’s Message

Atty. Augusto W. GoPresidentUniversity of Cebu

Ms. Candice GotianuyChancellorUniversity of Cebu

Welcome to Cebu’s youngest university whose vision for excellence has been indelibly carved into its graduates who have made thier marks not just in the local arena but in the global map as well. As a non-elitist institution that welcome students from all walks of life, social background, race, creed, and culture, the University of Cebu boasts of a quality education that caters to the need of its students. Equipping them with the knowlege, skills, attitudes and values that are essential in living a fulfilling and meaningful life, the university has indeed come a long way. With its opening in 1964, the univer-sity has graduated more than a hundred thousand students, all of whom have carved their niches here and abroad.

Through time, UC has persevered to grow by leaps and bounds, in numbers and standards. One simple reason for UC’s steady growth is the school’s unfailing vision to become a leading university in the Asia-Pacific region. While this vision may be met with raised eyebrows, let it be known that many skeptics have already been convinced by the school’s version of success-themed stories.

In consonance to this aspiration, UC continues to focus on its re-sources, both human and technical, towards achieving success in various fields. Success, within the context of UC experience, is the school’s clearcut response to the demands of time. With its func-tional and ground-breaking curricula and “well-oiled” machineries, UC thus creates a learning environment equal to the necessities of the 21st century.

UC’s continuing efforts towards making itself the finest is predicated on the now popular byword of the academe: I CARE. In capsule, this acronym speaks about the core values of Innovation, which is geared towards technological advancement; Camaraderie, which is founded on the spirit of mutual trust, harmony and understand-ing; Alignment, which places UC in correct positioning in relation to others, be it within or outside; Respect, which puts a premium on the practice of professionalism; and Excellence, which is the excep-tional quality that makes UC distinct right from the very start.

Having this as its general picture, UC invites you then to take part in its continuing journey towards its envisioned direction.

home of Sto. Niño is the most dynamic and prosperous city in the

Philippines. It is the second major city after Metro Manila, and stra-

tegically located at the center of the Philippine archipelago.

educational, recreational, historical, entertainment and business

centers teeming with life all year round.

Cebu City is a gateway to opportunities in the central and southern

part of the country and is easily accessible through direct flights

from various international locations and destinations. Cebu’s war-

ranted economic growth fortifies itself as the preferred home to

most Shipping industries and as an I.T. and Call Center hub not

only in Asia, but, worldwide.

Cebu is an educational center with most number of colleges and

universities closely partnering with various national and interna-

tional industries, allowing students to be trained, exposed and do

immersion programs in the field of commerce, modern technology,

shipping, medicine, hotel and tourism. An increasing number of

foreign students are coming to Cebu to study, a proof that studying

in Cebu is very well complimented with the varying and dynamic

lifestyle the city can offer.

Study in Cebu, therefore, and in particular at the University of Cebu,

will certainly be one of the most memorable experiences in life one

will ever have as it paves the way for a prosperous and secured life

evolved into a world-class university in Asia Pacific, while holding

true to its philantropic mantra, “NO TUITION FEE INCREASE”.

With forty-two(42) years of quality education, the University of

Cebu(UC) has been awarded a Deregulated status by the Com-

mission on Higher Education (CHED), while recognized by the
