Prices - Personal Quotation ServiceWe offer a personal quotation service to give you the most accurateprices, taking into account the size of your group, method of travel,standard of accommodation and your requirements for visits.

We aim to provide you with:A clear and unambiguous quotation indicating what is includedand any optional extras. Contact us for your customised quotation.

Free PlacesIn order to ensure proper supervisory levels, we offer as standard:

1 free place for every 8 paying pupils on coach tours.1 free place for every 10 paying pupils on air tours.

If you need any different free place ratio, just tell us as that can beeasily arranged. Also, concessionary prices for members of theparty leader’s family are available on request.

Payment ScheduleFirst deposits: £20 UK coach tours, £40 European coach tours,£75 Air tours.

Second deposits: £30 UK coach tours, £50 European coach tours,£75 Air tours.

Final payment: Due 8 weeks prior to departure.

Inspection VisitsWe are happy to help you visit your chosen destination ahead ofyour trip, to carry out a full risk assessment, get to know the hoteland staff, and gain knowledge of the resort and surrounding area.Providing deposits have been paid, we will cover the cost of theaccommodation for two people for one night (or one person fortwo nights) at the hotel on a bed and breakfast basis. We will alsoassist with cross-Channel arrangements, if possible.

Specialist CoursesBroadway Tours can offer specialist language or cuisine coursesand rugby and football tours in selected resorts, tailor made to yourparticular requirements – please contact us for details and for acustomised quotation.

Important Information You Need To KnowHealth And SafetyOf course, the safety and security of everyone who travels with us isof paramount importance. We also understand the pressures onyou, the group leader, to ensure that everything is in order.

We have therefore formally documented our existing proceduresas a Safety Management Policy relating to Health & Safety oneducational tours, which is in line with government guidelines.

Our policy document covers all elements of your tour including:

• 24 hour emergency assistance

• Pre-tour inspection visits

We will always comply with regulations relating to Health andSafety issues, as required by your Education Authority and will bepleased to assist with the completion of any documents.

Financial SecurityAll Broadway Tours are booked through and operated by Complete World Travel, which is abonded company, and all tours meet therequirements of ABTA (C9118 and W5289) andthe CAA (ATOL 5457). All this means that you arefully protected in the unlikely event of ourfinancial failure, both before and during your holiday. Allarrangements comply with the Package Travel, Package Holidayand Package Tours Regulations 1992.

Round The Clock ProtectionWe offer a 24 hour emergency service incorporating senior staffand our overseas agents. Included in your travel documents will bea 24 hour emergency contact number which will be answered bymembers of our staff who will have full details of your tour and willrespond immediately to any situation.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

TRAVEL BY AIRWe offer great value flight options to both European and long hauldestinations, using scheduled airlines from London and regionalairports. Let us know if you also require coach transfers to and fromthe UK airport.

TRAVEL BY COACHModern coaching combines cost effective travel, reduced carbonfootprint compared to most other forms of transport, and increasedcomfort on all European tours.

The coach companies we use are carefully selected for their safetystandards, experience and proven reliability. We operate executivecoaches on all UK and European tours, usually 49 seaters, fittedwith seatbelts, reclining seats, video or DVD player, WC, and forced air ventilation. In addition, coach drivers are aware of their responsibilities and of the special requirements regardingschool travel.

The coach will be at your disposal throughout your tour, subject tothe EU regulations regarding drivers’ hours, which are strictlyobserved..

CHANNEL CROSSINGSQuotations we send for coach tours will normally includechannel crossings from Dover to Calais, operated by Sea France.

We can quote on request for the Eurotunnel Folkestone to Calaisroute, or the longer North Sea crossings, which are usuallyovernight, or the crossings direct to Brittany and Normandy.

TRAVEL INSURANCEWe know it is important for you to be adequately insured. We arean Appointed Representative of Fogg Travel Insurance, who withInsurers, Union Reiseversicherung AG are authorised and regulatedby the FSA. As such, we can offer you travel insurance, especiallytailored for our tours. You will be issued with our cover, unless youtell us to the contrary, in which case, we will require the details ofthe alternative policy.

A full copy of the policy wording with key facts should be read priorto booking via our website, www.broadwaytours.co.uk, by allmembers of the booking and if it does not meet their needs

alternative cover should be purchased immediately. As Party Leaderplease ensure that all members of your group are provided with thelink prior to booking and if it does not meet their needs alternativecover should be purchased immediately. The Party Leader will alsobe provided with an Organiser Summary Letter (giving youimportant information) after booking. As with most insurances, aninsured is only covered for an event which occurs after the coverhas been purchased. Please therefore carefully read the paragraphheaded Pre-existing Health Conditions below.

Cancellation of this insurance is allowed within 14 days of bookingif the cover does not meet your needs.

Pre-existing Health Conditions – please see the policy wording onour website for what must be declared if you require cover for a pre-existing medical condition. Please note that persons under 16 andtravelling as part of a school party do not need to make adeclaration if travelling to Europe.

This policy is only available to persons normally resident in theUnited Kingdom.

Sample ItineraryVisits and excursions are entirely your choice, but a sampleitinerary, based on a 4 day tour, could be as follows:

Day 1 – Travel from school via Dover/Calais to your hotel (firstincluded meal – dinner). A visit to the Nausicaa Sea Life centre en-route to your hotel can be arranged.

Day 2 – Circular tour to include a visit to a snail farm in Airon-St-Vaast, a guided tour of the chocolate factory in Beussent and ademonstration of bread making in Neufchatel-Hardelot beforereturning to your hotel for dinner.

Day 3 – Full day excursion to archaeological site of Samara and thecaves of Naours or a full day excursion to the sites and memorialsof the Somme Battlefields.

Day 4 – Morning visit to a local market, before commencinghomeward journey. A stop can be made at the Cité Europe for lastminute shopping before taking the return ferry to Dover andcontinuing back to school.

The Seine Maritime region of Normandy is one of the bestknown areas of France and certainly one of the most popularfor school groups.

It is easy to reach from the UK and the varied and contrastinglandscape, the history and the huge variety of exciting andeducational places to visit, combine to make it the perfectdestination for both multiple and special interest tours alike.

The history of Calvados region is so closely linked to our own.Birthplace of William the Conquerer, it is most famous now, ofcourse, for the D-Day landing beaches, and it is possible toimagine the epic confrontations that took place across theregion’s beautiful landscape. Being France’s major agriculturaland dairy region, groups will want to take advantage of thedifferent visits to farms that are available. There are manylovely towns and villages to visit, the best example perhapsbeing Honfleur, inspiration to the Impressionist movement.

You can choose to base your group either in Amsterdam itself,or perhaps for younger groups in one of two great seasidelocations. Noordwijk is surrounded by woods and wild dunes inthe heart of the Dutch bulb growing area. Apart from its hugesandy beach and many attractions in the town, it is home toSpace Expo, Europe’s first permanent space exhibition. Egmondis close to Alkmaar and the North Holland Dune Reserve, withmany local activities. Amsterdam is one of Europe’s great cities,and offers world famous museums and art galleries, echoes ofthe wartime experience and contemporary culture.

All rooms have private facilitiesHotel Aan Zee, Noordwijk – welcoming, family run hotel, just oneminute from the beach and 5 minutes from town centre.Specialises in accommodating school groups; mostly 4 beddedrooms for students, all with private facilities.Stayokay Noordwijk is a completely renovated hostel right by thedunes; the 2-6 bedded rooms all have private facilities, and apartfrom the usual public areas, meeting rooms are available. TheStayokay Egmond offers similar facilities, as well as a volleyballcourt, bowling and bicycle hire.

Sample Itinerary – 4 Days By CoachDay 1 – Coach journey from school to Noordwijk via Dover – Calaisshort sea crossing, arriving in time for dinner and overnightaccommodation.

Day 2 – Day in and around Noordwijk, perhaps taking advantage ofthe many leisure activities, as well as visiting Space Expo.

Day 3 – Full day excursion to Amsterdam. Most groups choose tovisit the Anne Frank House, and a canal cruise is a must – see rightfor other suggested visits.

Day 4 – Depart after breakfast with a packed lunch to start thejourney back to school.

Journey time from Calais – approx 5.5 hours. Schools from thenorth may prefer to take overnight sailings from Hull to Zeebruggeor Rotterdam, to make the coach journeys much shorter.

• Trier – Germany’s oldest city, birthplace of Karl Marx andhome of the early 4th century Porta Nigra, an incrediblyimpressive fortified gate

• Rheinfels Castle – overlooking St Goar, Rheinfels Castlewas once the biggest fortress on the Rhine, and has beenrecently restored

• Koblenz – Historic city at the confluence of the Rhine andMoselle rivers. Impressive views from the EhrenbreitsteinFortress down to Deutsches Eck and the statue ofEmperor Wilheim I

The Rhine region has long attracted visitors from all walks oflife who have marvelled at its beauty, such as Turner, Byron,Queen Victoria and Mark Twain. Meanwhile, the Moselle flowsthrough charming towns and villages, and past vineyards,ruins and romantic fairytale castles, to create an unforgettablepicture. 1. THE COMPANY

All Broadway Tours are booked through Complete World Travel Ltd., Packwood House,Guild Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6RP. Complete World Travel Ltd is a bondedcompany and the tours in this brochure meet the requirements of ABTA (C9118 andW5289) and CAA (ATOL 5457).

1. Both Broadway Tours and Complete World Travel Ltd operate a strict code of conductand we take our obligations very seriously. The booking conditions below seek to explainas clearly as possible the responsibility between us when you make and we accept abooking. Complete World Travel Ltd is referred to as “we” and “us” in these conditions,which form part of the contract. By signing the booking form, you are agreeing, on behalfof all persons named on the booking form, to the booking conditions set out here.

2. PAYMENT

Your booking must be made with the appropriate deposit (or full payment if the bookingis within eight weeks of departure). The booking is not confirmed until the date shownon your confirmation of booking, which is when this contract comes into existence. Wewill send you the confirmation normally within seven days of our receiving your firstdeposits.

Eight weeks after payment of first deposits, second deposits will be due. The balance ofyour tour cost must be paid no later than 8 weeks before departure (unless we adviseotherwise) and the date for final payment is shown on the confirmation/invoice. If thebalance is not received by the due date then we reserve the right to cancel your booking,and to retain the deposits. Please note that a 2.75% administration charge will be addedto all payments made by credit card.

3. IF YOU CANCEL YOUR BOOKING

Cancellation is only effective when written notice of your wish to cancel is received in ouroffice from the person who made the booking. In order to cover our expenses, we willcharge a cancellation fee according to the scale shown below:

4. IF YOU CHANGE YOUR BOOKING

If you want to amend your booking we will do our best to help. We do, however, reserve

the right to charge an amendment fee of £25 per person together with any further costswe incur in making the alteration. You should be aware that these costs could increasethe closer to the departure date that changes are made, and please note particularly thatchanges made to airline reservations can often be costly. All amendments must beconfirmed to us in writing by the person who signed the booking form.

5. IF WE CANCEL YOUR BOOKING

Cancellations by us may sometimes be necessary and we reserve the right to cancel yourtour in any circumstances. In this event, except when the cancellation is as a result ofyour failure to pay the balance when due, you will be offered the choice of an alternativetour (if available) or a full refund of all monies paid. If we cancel your tour within 8 weeksof the departure date, you should receive compensation on the scale shown below,except where the cancellation is due to circumstances beyond our control.

6. IF WE CHANGE YOUR BOOKING

It is unlikely that we will have to change your booking, but sometimes changes becomenecessary. We therefore reserve the right to make changes to the arrangementsdescribed in this brochure. If a major change is necessary, we will inform you as soon aswe can. A major change is one that involves a change of departure time from the UK ofmore than 12 hours, a change of destination (i.e. country), or offering accommodationwith a lower classification that that advertised (except in the case of en route hotels).Please note that a change of sea or air port is not classified as a major change wherecoach transport from the school to the sea or air port is included in the tour cost, nor is achange of cross-Channel arrangements from ferry to Eurotunnel or vice versa. Shouldyou decide not to accept a major change we will offer an alternative tour (if available) oroffer credit towards another Broadway tour or refund all monies paid plus compensationas detailed in clause 5 above. Compensation payments do not apply to changes becauseof reasons of force majeure or due to circumstances outside of our control. Suchcircumstances include war or threat of war, civil strife, terrorist activity, adverse weathercondition, natural or nuclear disaster, industrial dispute, fire and all similar events outsideour control. We reserve the right to make changes to our advertised itineraries becauseof traffic or weather conditions, diversion, any other operational reason, or other reasonsof force majeure, including any event which we or the supplier of the service(s) inquestion could not, even with all due care, have foreseen or avoided.

7. OUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR TOUR

(a) We accept responsibility for ensuring that your tour is supplied in accordance withthese conditions and to a reasonable standard commensurate with the price of your tour.We have taken all reasonable care to ensure that suppliers such as hotels, coach andferry companies are reputable concerns and that they comply with the local and nationallaws of the country in which they supply the services.

(b) In the unlikely event that your tour is not provided as set as 7(a) above, we acceptliability in accordance with Regulation 15 of the Package Travel, Package Holidays andPackage Tour Regulations, 1992 for damage caused to you by the failure to properlyperform or the improper performance of this contract, unless the failure or improperperformance is due neither to our fault or the fault of our supplier(s) of services, because

(i) the failures which occur in the performance of the contract are attributable to you; (ii)such failures are attributable to a third party unconnected with the provision of theservices contracted for, and are unforeseeable or unavoidable; or (iii) such failures aredue to unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond the control of us or oursupplier(s), the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due carehad been exercised; or such failures are due to an event which we or our supplier(s),even with all due care, could not foresee or forestall.

(c) If you suffer damage other than personal injury, the maximum amount ofcompensation we will pay you is twice the basic price of the tour for the person(s)affected, except in respect of loss and/or damage to luggage and/or personalpossessions (including money), where our liability is limited to £30 per person affected.

(d) It is important to note that in certain circumstances our liability to makecompensation payments to you and your right to make a claim is limited by InternationalConventions. Section 8 of these conditions deals with this more fully and you shouldread this section carefully.

(e) If we pay you compensation, you agree to assign to us and/or our insurers all rightsyou may have to pursue a claim against a third party and to provide us and/or ourinsurers with all assistance that is required.

(f) If you suffer illness, injury or death through misadventure during the period of thetour, arising out of an activity which is not supplied under this contract, we may, at ourdiscretion, offer assistance to you providing that you inform us of the incident within 90days of your return from tour. Where legal action is contemplated and you want ourassistance, you must obtain our written consent prior to the commencement ofproceedings and subject to you undertaking to assign any costs, and/or benefits receivedunder any relevant insurance policy to us. Our assistance is limited to £5,000 perbooking. If your claim is successful you must repay to us the amount of any financialassistance we have given you as soon as you receive your compensation.

8. TRAVEL BY AIR & WATER

If your tour involves travel by air and/or water we will use carriers (such as airlines orshipping companies) to enable that travel to take place. The carriers’ conditions ofcarriage will apply to such travel and they form part of the contract between you and us. Acopy of the relevant carrier’s conditions for your tour is available from us on request.However, you should be aware that the conditions of carriage will limit the circumstancesin which and the amount of compensation can be claimed. In certain cases, liability topay compensation may be excluded. In the case of travel by air, the conditions willincorporate limits and exclusions set by the Warsaw and/or Montreal Conventions. Theselimit the time for making a claim to two years and limit the amount of compensation thatcan be recovered both for damages for personal injury and other damage. In the case ofpersonal injury, damages can only be claimed for “bodily injury” and this does notinclude psychological or psychiatric injury. Furthermore the amount that can be claimedis limited in most cases. It is also possible for the carrier to rely upon certain defences,such as showing it took all necessary measures to avoid the damage, or that the damagewas caused or contributed to by you. These too may limit the amount of compensationthat is payable or mean that no compensation is payable. In the case of travel by water,the conditions will incorporate limits set by the Athens Convention. The Convention limitsthe time for making a claim to two years and limits the amount of compensation payableboth for damages for personal injury and other damage in similar ways to the Warsawand Montreal Conventions. Defences are also available which will reduce the amount ofcompensation payable or mean that no compensation is payable. You should ensurethat you have adequate insurance for personal possessions as liability for loss of theseitems is excluded in most circumstances. In all cases our liability shall be limited to theextent that we would have to pay damages if we were the carrier itself.

9. LAW

This contract shall be governed by English Law and the jurisdiction of the English Courts.You may, however, choose the law and jurisdiction of Scotland or Northern Ireland.

10. RIGHTS OF REFUSAL & INDEMNITY

We expect our clients to have consideration for their fellow passengers. If you or anymember of your party behave in such a way as is likely, in our opinion or the opinion ofany person in authority, to cause offence, danger, damage or distress to others, wereserve the right to terminate the tour arrangements. In this event, our responsibility forthe tour will immediately cease and we will not be liable for any costs or expensesincurred by you as a result. Full cancellation charges will apply and we will be under noobligation whatsoever for any refund, compensation or loss you may incur. If youractions cause damage to the accommodation in which you are staying or to the vehicle,train, ship or aircraft in which you are travelling, or cause delay or diversion to any meansof transportation, you agree to fully indemnify us against any claim (including legalcosts) made against us by or on behalf of the owners of such accommodation or theoperator of such means of transportation.

11. IF YOU HAVE A COMPLAINT

In the unlikely event that you feel dissatisfied with your tour, please inform the relevantsupplier (e.g. your hotelier) and our office or out of hours number, so that the matter canbe resolved straightaway. If the matter cannot be resolved on the spot, please follow upyour complain in writing within 28 days of your return from tour. We will deal with yourcomplaint properly, carefully and fairly, but if you fail to follow this procedure we will havebeen deprived of the opportunity to investigate and rectify your complaint whilst youwere in resort and this may affect your rights under this contract. If a dispute arising outof this contract cannot be settled amicably you can refer to arbitration under a specialScheme arranged by ABTA, administered independently by the Chartered Institute ofArbitrators. The Scheme, details of which are supplied upon request, provides for asimple and inexpensive method of arbitration on documents alone with restricted liabilityin respect of costs. The Scheme does not apply to claims for an amount greater than£5,000 per person. There is also a total limit of £25,000 per booking. Neither does itapply to claims which are solely in respect of physical injury or illness or theirconsequences. The Scheme can however deal with compensation claims, which includean element of minor injury or illness, subject to a limit of £1,000 on the amount thearbitrator can award per person in respect of this element. The application for arbitrationmust be made within nine months of the date of return from the tour, except if we agreeotherwise.

12. BOOKING WITH CONFIDENCE

Complete World Travel Ltd is a fully bonded member of ABTA (Membership Nos. C9118and W5289) and holds Air Travel Organiser’s Licence No. 5457 issued by the CivilAviation Authority. In the unlikely event of our insolvency, ABTA and/or the CAA willensure that you are not stranded abroad and will arrange to refund any money you havepaid to us for an advance booking.

13. INSURANCE

Travel insurance is included in the basic cost of your educational tour and is underwrittenby Union Reiseversicherung AG (URV) via Fogg Travel Insurance Services Limited. Theinsurance has specifically been designed with school and other groups in mind.

Should it be necessary for you to arrange alternative cover through your LEA, that policyshould provide comparative or greater cover and also a 24 hour emergency service.Should you decide on an alternative policy, you will have to supply us with details of thecover, name and address of the insurer and policy number prior to departure. If you donot take out this insurance and provide us with the requested details, we reserve the rightto cancel your tour. If we do this, we will not be liable for any compensation, cancellationcharges, costs, expenses or losses that you may incur as a result.

Broadway Tours is an Appointed Representative of Fogg Travel Insurance Services Limitedin accordance with the FSA Rules. This can be checked by viewing the FSA web site.

14. PASSPORTS & VISAS

It is the responsibility of the party leader to ensure that all members of the party are inpossession of all necessary travel and health documents. Non British citizens or holdersof non EU passports should seek advice from the relevant consulate or embassy of thecountries to or through which they intend to travel.

15. PRICE POLICY

We reserve the right to increase or decrease brochure prices at any time prior to yourbooking. Once booked and confirmed with deposits, the price of your educational tour isfully guaranteed.

16. TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS: COACHES, AIRLINES, AIRCRAFT & FLIGHT TIMINGS

Please note that any timings given are provisional and for guidance purposes only andmay be subject to change. Final timings and hotel details will be advised with your traveldocuments, which are sent approximately 7 days prior to departure. We use the charterand scheduled flights of major airlines, and all prices are based on travel in economyclass. Airline schedules are liable to change, sometimes at short notice, and any flighttimings, routings or details of en route stops given in this brochure or by any member ofstaff are for guidance only and are subject to change. An en route stop may be added orremoved and en route change of aircraft may be necessary on occasions. Whilst detailsare correct at the time of going to press or when given by staff, we ask that you considerthe above if making your own arrangements for travel to/from the UK departure airport.We cannot accept responsibility for any costs or inconvenience incurred as a result ofchanges to scheduled flight details.

17. DESTINATION INFORMATION

We make every effort to include as much information about your resort, hotel andexcursions in the brochure as possible and all information has been checked and iscorrect at the time of going to press. Occasionally, the availability of certain services mayvary according to season, weather conditions, lack of demand, essential maintenancework or other circumstances beyond our control – we cannot accept any liability forcancellation or curtailment in these circumstances. Unless otherwise stated, oureducational tour prices are per person, normally based upon the shared occupancy ofmulti bedded rooms for students and twin or double bedded rooms for accompanyingadults. Single rooms are limited and a supplement would be payable if available. Privatefacilities provide a WC and either a bath or shower and will be solely for your own use.Any hotel ratings are for general guidance only. Ratings listed correspond with localclassifications and may not be comparable with domestic standards. Occasionally wemay provide an alternative hotel to that stated in the brochure. However, this will be atleast of the standard advertised. The term ‘hotel’ includes pensions, gasthofs, motels andother equivalent establishments according to local classifications. In some Europeancountries, it is common, in family run properties, for accommodation to be provided in abuilding separate from the building containing the restaurant and bar areas. Veryoccasionally when dinner is provided either as part of the package, or as an optionalextra, it may be provided at an establishment other than at the main hotel. Minoralterations may be made by the driver to arrangements, for example to the excursionprogramme, where these are intended to improve or maintain the quality of serviceoffered by taking account of local events, prevailing weather or transport conditions, etc.

18. SPECIAL REQUESTS

Please advise us in writing at the time of booking of any special requests relating torooms, health/dietary requirements. We will try to meet these requests whereverpossible but cannot guarantee to do so as these are often dependent on our suppliersand they do not form part of the contract between you and us. The noting of a specialrequest on the confirmation/invoice does not necessarily signify confirmation that thespecial request will be complied with. It is particularly important that we are advised inwriting of any disabilities or medical conditions of any members of your group ascoaches can be difficult to get on and off and some of our hotels do not offer ground orlower floor accommodation or lifts or easy access, although we will do our best toaccommodate those that are handicapped or have restricted mobility.

19. DATA PROTECTION POLICY

Please be assured that we have measures in place to protect the personal bookinginformation held by us. This information will be passed on to the relevant suppliers ofyour travel arrangements. The information may also be provided to public authoritiessuch as customs or immigration if required by them, or as required by law. Certaininformation may also be passed on to security or credit checking companies.

If you travel outside the European Economic Area, controls on data protection may not beas strong as the legal requirements in this country. We will only pass your information onto persons responsible for your travel arrangements. This applies to any sensitiveinformation that you give us such as details of any disabilities, or dietary/religiousrequirements. If we cannot pass this information to the relevant suppliers, whether in theEEA or not, we will be unable to provide your booking. In making this booking, youconsent to this information being passed on to the relevant persons. Full details of ourdata protection policy are available on request.
