Greetings Brothers & Sisters! Well, will March come roaring in like a lion or come quietly like a lamb? We have had some pretty strong February winds and even a little rain, Praise the Lord!! Gardening season is upon us! March will kick off with a church wide work day on Saturday the 5th in preparation for the Singing Church-women of Oklahoma concert the following Thursday, March 10, 7:00P.M.! Be sure to be inviting and encouraging people to come be blessed by this great group of ladies as they sing of the love of Jesus! Sunday, March 13, is also the beginning of Daylight Savings Time for this year. Don’t forget to spring forward one hour Saturday night so you will be on time for Sunday activities here at TFBC! Easter is just two weeks later on March 27th and we want to be sure to invite and encourage friends and neighbors to attend services that day as we celebrate our Risen Lord. In Matthew 20:28 Jesus says, “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…”, and again in Luke 22:27 says, “Yet I am among you as the One who serves”. Jesus wants us to pour out our lives to the last drop for others, as He did when He shed His precious blood on the cross of Calvary. If we are truly motivated to service by our love of Jesus, we won’t worry if anyone notices except Jesus Himself. Once we realize that Jesus has served us even to the depths of our meagerness, our selfishness, and our sin, nothing we encounter from others will be able to exhaust our determination to serve others for His sake. Let us each one endeavor to serve others with the same attitude that Christ served. That will show the world that He is love. “Sing”cerely, Dale
Singing ChurchWomen of Oklahoma The Singing ChurchWomen (SCW) of Oklahoma is one of the performing groups sponsored in part by the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma (BGCO). The group, begun in the fall of 1989 by founding director, James D. Woodward, now numbers nearly 350 active singing members. The phenomenal growth and statewide popularity are due in large part to the leadership and vision of Dr. Bill Green who directed the group from 1991 (following Woodward’s death) until 2009. The group’s next director, Dr. Ken Gabrielse, who now serves as the Dean of Fine Arts at OBU, celebrated the 20th anniversary of the group and focused on a worship service concert, continued by their next director, Bart Morrison. Currently, the group is under the direction of the BGCO State Worship and Music Specialist, Dr. Randy C. Lind, who also conducts the Singing Churchmen of Oklahoma. The SCW has presented the musical gospel in many different states and around the world. They have been on ministry trips to Brazil, Romania, and Hungary. Wherever the ladies sing, their concerts are characterized by great attention to musical detail and the passionate singing of their love for Jesus Christ. The ministry in song is infectious. These ladies represent music ministries of Southern Baptist Churches from all around our great state. Usually, the member-ship presents two concerts each month during the October-May concert season. Due to size, the choirs split down I-35 to present their concerts. However, once or twice every season, the group is divided into smaller groups to present their music in churches that may not be able to host the larger choirs. First Baptist Church, Tipton will host a small group of the Singing ChurchWomen of Oklahoma in concert on March 10, 2016. The concert will begin at 7:00 pm. The SCW will be presenting music that expresses their unity as they present “Soli Deo Gloria”. The concert includes traditional and contemporary arrangements, scripture, and congregational worship. There is no admission charge and everyone is welcome to attend this concert sponsored by First Baptist Church of Tipton.

March 2016
A history of First Baptist Church Tipton covering the years 1968
through 2012 is available at the church office. Contact Carl Ann Ward at

who helped to make the booklet possible.
““““DID YOU KNOW?” DID YOU KNOW?” DID YOU KNOW?” DID YOU KNOW?” Tipton and the surrounding area was hit with a
major ice/snow storm on Christmas Eve 2009, but on January 28, 2010
the worst ice storm in history hit Southwest Oklahoma. The entire area
with coated with a blanket of ice. Electrical power was cut off six to ten
days due to downed power poles. A FEMA generator was secured and the
annex building was turned into a heated shelter and three meals a day
were provided at no charge to anyone in need.

said, “I’m only a gap filler. I’ll fill in wherever I’m needed.”

The Ultimate Gift
If God didn’t withhold from us
his very own Son, will God
withhold anything we need? If
trust must be earned, hasn’t God
unequivocally earned our trust
with the bark on the raw wounds, the thorns pressed
into the brow, your name on the cracked lips? How will
he not also graciously give us all things he deems best
and right? He’s already given the incomprehensible.

A FEW MOMENTS WITH GOD
(NUMBERS 24:17-19)
“I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold
him but not nigh: there shall come a Star out
of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel,
and shall smite the corners of Moab and
destroy all the children of Sheth. And Edom
shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a
possession for his enemies, and Israel shall do
valiantly. Out of Jacob shall come he that
shall have dominion, and shall destroy him
that remaineth of the city.”
The promised King provides final and
complete victory over evil. Jesus’ coming, His
death, and His resurrecon put into place the
plan of salvaon. Although Satan connues
to oppose God’s people, his desny is
sealed. It is only a ma"er of me unl he
meets his doom.
God’s message through Balaam emphasizes
His plan for Israel. Balaam’s prophecies make
it clear that no forces of opposion, earthly or
supernatural, can thwart God’s plan. May we
be among those whom God can bless, so that
we can confidently face the future, knowing
that God will see us through.
Remember---The goodness of God endures
connually.
God bless you.

“At the cross we understand what God means when He talks of loving us, begin to take it in that there is nothing that
He will not do, no sacrifice He will not make, no suffering that He will shirk, if only He can help us. ‘He loved me,’ said Paul, standing upon Calvary and gazing in a stunned way at the cross, ‘I who was a persecutor, and a blasphemer, and injurious, and yet He loved me and He gave Himself for me.’ And with that (Paul’s) heart broke, and the old life was gone.”

Valentine’s Banquet Hosted by FBC Youth
Chris Petty & Sharon Johns
Tipton First Baptist Church held its Valentine’s Banquet on Sunday evening. Leaders of the event were Paul Beam, Taima Beam and Youth Director, Travis Stevens. The Fellowship Hall was wonderfully decorated by Beth Stevens and Christ Petty, Taima was assisted in food preparation by Rachel Harnden, Rebecca McPherson and grill chief, Hunter Elliott. The meal consisted of grilled chicken or pork tenderloin, cheese hash brown casserole, green beans, French bread, and salad. Dessert was a choice of chocolate cake or banana pudding. The food was excellent and service was even better. The servers were Elias Beam, Ashley Brown, Stephen Brown, Owen Crites, Brie Elliott, Hunter Elliott, Rachel Harnden, Austin McPherson, Kara McPherson, Leah Powell, Rebecca McPherson and Gabe Spedding. Each table had a different décor motif and its own server. The highlight of the evening was a cooking contest between chefs Leroy and June. Chef Leroy was played by Austin McPherson and Owen Crites, while Chef June was played by Kara McPherson and Brie Elliott. When the flour settled and all the mixing was done, two culinary creations existed that will probably never be found in Southern Living’s Annual Cookbook (kinda makes one wonder how strong their faith is). The contest was similar to a tv show, that gives the contestants the same ingredients and asks them to create a masterpiece using only those items. A winner could not be determined by taste test since nobody in the audience would relent to being a judge. Therefore, a winner had to be determined by a show of hand clapping. Chef June (Kara McPherson) and her partner Brie Elliott was determined to be the winners. It was and enjoyable evening with fellowship, fun and lots of laughter!
