    "Adolly"meansatrailerconverterdollythatistowedfromasinglehitchlocatedonthecentrelineofthetowingvehicle

    "Atrain"meansacombinationofvehiclescomposedofatrucktractor,asemitrailerandeither

    (a)anAdollyandasemitrailer,or

    (b)afulltrailer

    "Act"meanstheCommercialTransportAct

    "airdeflector"meansadeviceattachedtothefrontofavehicledesignedtoreduceairresistancearoundthevehicleorloadbutnopartofwhichisusedtocarryaload

    "antisplashandspraydevice"meansadevicethatisattachedtoavehicleandisdesignedtocontrolorreducetheamountofwaterthrownupbythemovingwheelsofthevehicle

    "articulationpoint"means

    Permits

    7.02 (1)Theminister,oranypersonauthorizedbytheminister,may,bygeneralauthorityorbytheissuanceofapermitnumberorwrittenpermit,authorizethedrivingoroperationonahighwayofacommercialvehiclethatdoesnotconformtotheweightanddimensionspecificationsofthisDivision,andthefeeforthepermitisthatspecifiedintheCommercialTransportFeesRegulation.

    (2)Apersonwhoisissuedapermitnumberundersubsection(1)withoutawrittenpermitmustreporttoaninspectionstationtoobtainawrittenpermitatthefirstopportunity.

    (3)Theministerorapersonauthorizedbyhimmay,byageneralauthorityorbyawrittenpermit,authorizethecrossingbyacommercialvehicleof

    (a)ahighwayinunorganizedterritoryoranarterialhighwayinamunicipality,or

    (b)ifanofficerofthemunicipalityhasgivenwrittenapprovaltoanapplicationforcrossing,ahighway,otherthananarterialhighway,inthemunicipality,

    andthefeemustbeinaccordancewiththeCommercialTransportFeesRegulation.

    (4)Anydriver,operatororownerofanyvehicleorotherpersonwhoviolatesanyoftheconditionscontainedinanypermitissuedundersubsection(1)or(3)isguiltyofanoffenceandisliable,onsummaryconviction,toafineofnotmorethan$500ortoatermofimprisonmentnotexceeding3months,orboth.

    (5)Theministeroranypersonauthorizedbytheminister,oranypeaceofficer,mayamend,varyorrescindpermitsissuedundersubsection(1)or(3).

    (6)Asaprerequisitetotheissuanceofapermitundersubsection(1)or(3),theministermayrequiretheapplicantforthepermittodepositwiththeministerchargedwiththeadministrationoftheTransportationAct,orapersonactingonthatminister'sbehalf,asumofmoneyinanamountsufficient,intheopinionofthatminister,topaythecostofrepairinganydamagethatmaybedonetothehighway,apublicstructureorabridgebyreasonofthedrivingoroperationofthevehicleonthehighway,publicstructureorbridge.

    (9)Anapplicantforanoversize,overloadorhighwaycrossingpermitmaydepositwiththeminister,orwithapersondesignatedbytheminister,asumofmoneyconsideredbytheministertobesufficienttosecurethepaymentofthefeesforsuchpermitsasmayberequiredbytheapplicant,andtheapplicantmustpaythepermitfeeonreceiptofabillfromtheministry.

    (10)Ifanapplicantfailstopaythefeeschargedundersubsection(9),theminister,orapersonauthorizedbytheminister,mayrefuseanyfurtherapplicationsforpermits,andmaycancelanyexistingpermitsuntilthedelinquentfeesarepaid.

    (11)Apersonmustnotuseapermitforthedrivingoroperationofavehicleotherthanthevehicleforwhichthepermitwasissued.

    (12)Ifthetermofanoverloadpermitextendsbeyondasinglejourney,amonthlyfeemustbechargedaccordingtotheCommercialTransportFeesRegulation.

    (13)ApermitorpermitnumberissuedundertheActandtheseregulationsmustbecarriedinthevehicleatalltimeswhenitisoperatingonahighway.

    (14)Nopermitistransferablefromonevehicletoanother,butifavehiclehasbeensold,destroyedorexportedfromtheProvince,asubstitutepermitcontainingthesameconditionsastheoriginalpermitmaybeissuedwithoutfeeandvalidatedforthetermoftheoriginalpermit.

    (15)Unlessexpresslypermittedbytheconditionsofapermit,apersonmustnotdriveoroperateanoversizevehicleorloadonaSundayorageneralholiday.

    (16)Apersonmustnot,withoutapermitorgeneralauthorityissuedundersubsection(1),driveoroperateavehicleorcombinationofvehiclesonahighwayunlessthevehicleorcombinationofvehicles,includingitsload,conformstotheweight,configuration,equipmentanddimensionspecificationsofthisDivision,includingAppendicesB,C,D,E,F,G,HandI.

    (2)Inthecaseofmobilehomesandmodularbuildingsthatexceed3.5minwidth,inadditiontotherequirementsofsubsection(1),theoperatoroftheoversizevehicleshallensurethatthereisdisplayedontherearofthemobilehomeormodularbuildingatthetimeoftransportasignthat:
