Bristol and Bath August 2016: Bristol dates from the 12th century and is now home to two of Isambard Brunel's groundbreaking constructions: 1.- SS Great Britain, in 1843 the first iron hulled propeller ship to cross the Atlantic. 2. - Clifton Suspension Bridge, in 1864 the longest span in the world. Nearby is Bath named for is 2000-year-old Roman Baths. Other attractions include the 1499 Bath Abbey, Pulteney Bridge and the unique Royal Crescent homes.
