Vocational Rehabilitation Chapter 31

• Normally expires 12 Years after retirement or after first rating– “The basic period of eligibility ends 12 years from the date of notification of

one of the following:• Date of separation from active military service, or• Date the veteran was first notified by VA of a service-connected disability

rating.” (http://www.benefits.va.gov/vocrehab/eligibility_and_entitlement.asp)

• 36 months of benefits

• Pays books and stipend

• Strong success at Associate and Bachelor level with some Master’s degrees funded

• Normally 20% or higher disability rating but some 10% have had success obtaining funding

• Program has drastically changed effective 2 January 2013. • Must have applied/enrolled before first day of class or signing

contract to teach.• If you still have Post 911 GI Bill don’t expect to receive TTT

funds. • Register yourself NOW at www.proudtoserveagain.com• Submit all required documents• Then Call the TTT National Office and ask for Sandy Thompson!

Bottom Line:- JROTC instructors complete Army distance learning courses, receive

service completion certificate, enroll in degree programs to earn Associate, Bachelor or Masters degrees

- RTG & Associates continues to advise and mentor JROTC instructors from all branches of service, so they can become better instructors/teachers and make maximum utilization of their GI Bill (VA) and other education benefits

- The College Credits for Cadets (CCC) program has over 4,500 course enrollments since 2002

- Fort Hays State University has graduated 66 JROTC instructors- RTG has provided annual funds and scholarships supporting the Army

Writing Competition- RTG has provided scholarships to winning JLAB Academic and

Leadership teams- RTG coordinated tax-deductible donations to Adams State Univ.
