Welcome
Welcome�to�the�thirdannual�Bridlington�PoetryFestival.�We’re�delightedto�present�these�25workshops,�readings,films�and�other�poetry
events,�featuring�voices�from�the�EastRiding�and�the�wider�Yorkshire�region,from�across�the�UK�and�around�the�world.
It’s�a�particular�pleasure�this�year�topresent�some�younger�poets�–�studentsfrom�schools�in�and�around�Bridlingtonwho’ve�been�working�on�our�Poetry�Scopeproject�in�recent�months,�and�theremarkable�Leeds�Young�Authors.
Although�we�bid�a�sad�farewell�this�year�toJohn�Wedgwood�Clarke,�founder�anderstwhile�Director�of �the�Festival,�it’s�agreat�privilege�to�welcome�him�back�as�apoet�and�workshop�tutor.�I’d�like�to�thankJohn�for�creating�such�a�wonderful�festival,to�salute�his�hard�work,�enthusiasm�andcommitment�to�audiences�and�artists�alike,and�to�wish�him�every�success�with�hisown�writing.

poetry�at�the�University�of �Hull.�He�is�co-Artistic�Director�of �Sea Swim,�a�part�ofimove:�a�Cultural�Olympiad�Programme�inYorkshire�www.imoveand.com/seaswim

The�Bridlington Land Train links�SewerbyHall�with�the�North�and�South�Promenadesof �the�town’s�seafront�–�surely�the�mostpicturesque�way�to�reach�the�Festival.
Access
The�Gardens,�Tea�Rooms,�Zoo,�Hall�andMuseum�are�all�accessible�for�people�usingwheelchairs.�There�is�a�unisex�disabled�toiletinside�the�Hall�and�in�the�Courtyard�next�tothe�Clock�Tower�Tea�Rooms.
