The transfer of Magali C. Rassel from the position of Principal at Challenger 7 Elementary School to the

position of Principal at Golfview Elementary School, on annual contract, effective July 15, 2020. Annual salary

The reclassification/transfer of Courtney L. Maynor from the position of Coordinator of Staff Development in

---------------------------------------------------------------------------Chairman Belford called for a recess at 2:50 p.m... prior to the beginning of the re-opening plan.She reconvened the meeting at 3:00 p.m...----------------------------------------------------------------------------Dr. Mullins presented the District Reopening Plan to the Board and viewing audience prior to the vote.  He explainedthat the Reopening Plan was very similar to the Draft Reopening Plan presented at the July 9, 2020 Board Workshop.He noted the modifications and updates that had been made since then. 

Modification of language around masks -An update on the elementary work groups to further detail the work and expectations for our schools-An update on the secondary plans which includes the development of an e-learning option for students-A review of work conditions related to leave for student and staff in the event they have to be quarantined or test

A calendar modification with a recommendation that they move the student start date of school from August 11 to

August 17

Following the presentation of information, Board members went page by page and had extensive and lengthydiscussion and had varied questions regarding operations.  Consensus among  Board members in regards totemperature checks was achieved and will be part of the amended recommendation.  The plan will be changed toreflect that students may be made to participate in temperature checks.  District leadership will specify guidance to staffand pending their willingness to adhere to the guidelines, will be furnished a touch-less thermometer.  A significantportion of time was given to the wearing of masks.  It was concluded that the language would remain as presented.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Chairman Belford called for a recess at 4:40 p.m.. and reconvened at: 4:54 p.m..She recessed the meeting again at 6:10 p.m.. and reconvened at 6:42 p.m..--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Conversation ensued surrounding the closure of schools and quarantine scenarios.  Mr. Susin stated that he wanted to make sure that staff is given preference in our Before and After Child Careprograms.  Ms. Cline, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Leading and Learning was asked to compile some datato bring back at a later time.  Dr. Mullins provided the Board information on calendar modification based on later start dates.  He was recommendinga student start date of August 17, 2020 and asked to have a special school board meeting on July 21, 2020 for action. Mr. Susin proposed an August 24, 2020 start date to allow teachers more time to plan.  There were factors to beconsidered and staff will look into the possibility.  The delayed start date will be voted on at the special school boardmeeting on July 21, 2020

based upon direction and/or guidance from the Governor, Florida Department of Education, or State/Local

Department of Health and grant the Superintendent discretion in lessening the restrictions in the

Reopening Plan should the circumstances warrant doing so.

Mr. Susin stated that he wanted the District to have the Well Care Centers play a bigger role in the testing ofCOVID for employees.
