Brent St Patrick’s Day will mark the fifteenth successive year, where all sections of the community have come together to celebrate all things Irish on the official day – Thursday 17 March.

Led by the Birmingham Irish Pipes and Drums the colourful parade, complete with floats and costumed dancers, will make its way from Willesden Green Underground Station at 4pm before reaching its final destination at the Willesden Green Library Centre.

At the library expect the very best of Irish entertainment including Irish dancing and folk music as well as the popular St Patrick’s Day Market and lots of children activities.

We hope you will join us in celebrating Brent St Patrick’s Day and would like to thank all the volunteers who contribute to the event

Willesden Green Library Centre on 17 March

StageThe music and dance stage will be located in the car park and have a number of Irish food and market stalls.

3.15pm – Brian McLaughlin, your stage host presents a selection of classic Irish tunes

3.45pm – Irish Mist, the very best of Irish folk music4.30pm – Birmingham Irish Pipes and Drums, the band perform

two tunes4.40pm – Mayor and dignitaries speech4.50pm – McCarthy School of Irish Dancing, the brilliant young

dancing troupe 5.00pm – The Mulkere Academy of Irish Music, multi piece orchestra

directed by Brendan Mulkere 5.25pm – McCarthy School of Irish Dancing5.35pm – Fil Campbell, a characteristic warm vocal style accompanied

by two stellar musicians, Brendan Emmett and Tom McFarland, will perform a selection of Irish folk songs

6.00pm – The Nathan Carter Band, Nathan is a country singer who was awarded Best Male Newcomer of 2007 at The Irish World Awards

7.30pm – Close

Children’s activities upstairs in The Space4.30pm – 7.30pmFace painting, craft activities and circus workshops for children of all ages.

Book signing in The Gallery4pm – 6pmArtist Louise Jefferson will present her book Wall and Barriers – symbol of separation. The book, a selection of startling images from the streets of Belfast, is married with insights and reflections from citizens, police, politicians and charities.

Special notices for Willesden Green Library Centre:• Brent Museum, the library and One Stop Shop will be open as usual• The car park will be closed all day on 17 March

Brent St Patrick’s Day Parade, 17 MarchThe Parade will commence at 4pm outside Willesden Green tube station and proceed to Willesden Green Library. Join the crowds and line the streets to watch the parade, which will be led by the award winning, Birmingham Irish Pipes and Drums.
