PROGRAM OVERVIEW Acellular dermal matrices (ADM) are increasingly used during breast implant reconstruc8on. There is now growing evidence for the use of ADM and a greater understanding of the indica8ons. This 2 day interac8ve course is aimed at consultants, surgical trainees (both plas8cs and breast) and specialist nurses involved in breast reconstruc8on. It includes an overview of the current evidence, a workshop with hands‐on training on surgical techniques and live surgery. The course will cover, pa8ent selec8on and assessment, pa8ent informa8on, current surgical techniques and management of complica8ons related to ADM use. An expert panel will debate aspects of healthcare commissioning and prac8cality of introducing ADM’s in rou8ne local prac8ce. Learning objec-ves of the program are to: • cri8cally evaluate the role of ADM’s in breast reconstruc8on; • discuss and demonstrate ADM and implant‐based surgical techniques; • review poten8al complica8ons and management strategies; • discuss cost effec8veness and prac8cal aspects of healthcare commissioning for ADM’s.
