This year’s Catholic Education Week theme is “Renewing the Promise.” The theme for CEW 2018 draws upon previous documents on Ontario Catholic education, name-ly, “This Moment of Promise” (1989), “Fulfilling the Promise” (1993) and “Our Catholic Schools” (2006-2007). Kiss & Ride
The driveway at the front of the school is set up as our Kiss & Ride allowing parents/guardians the
opportunity to drop off and pick up their children in a safe and effective manner.
The following list of Kiss & Ride procedures has been established to ensure your child(ren)’s safety.
We ask that you please …
have backpacks, lunch bags, umbrellas, snow pants etc. in the vehicle, not in the trunk. Having to
get things out of the trunk slows the flow of traffic.
use the Drop Off Lane and refrain from using the Bus Loading Zone (right next to the sidewalk)
as this area is meant for buses and emergency vehicles only.
pull up as far as you can. This allows for more cars to move off the street and into the Kiss &
Ride.
stay in your vehicle. Exiting your vehicle even if only for a few seconds creates a safety concern as
the left lane is for exiting traffic.
have your child(ren) prepare to exit on the passenger side (right side) of your vehicle. Exiting on
the left side is extremely dangerous as students may step in front of moving traffic in the exit
lane.
exit using the Kiss & Ride Lane, once your child has been dropped off and make a right turn onto
Council Ring Road. Left-hand turns are prohibited during entry and dismissal times.
drive slowly and carefully in all lanes and at all times.
use the sidewalk if you are walking your children to and
from school. Walking through the Kiss & Ride lanes is
unsafe.

“For as the rain and the snow come down from Heav-en, and do not return there without watering the earth, and making it bear and sprout, and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so will my word be, which goes forth from my mouth; it will not return to me empty, without accomplish-ing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”
-Isaiah 55:10-11
