Brava!® for OpenText Content Server provides secure viewing and collaboration on virtually any file within one intuitive, browser-based interface. There’s no need to install native applications on every desktop. Brava also provides automated redaction, viewing controls and secure document publishing and it extends OpenText Content Server permissions so you can securely share documents both inside and outside the organization.

Versatile viewing and compare options

The zero-footprint Brava HTML5 client lets you view, collaborate on and redact documents within OpenText Content Server. This cross-platform viewer requires only a web browser, so it can be used on PCs, Macs and even the Apple® iPad®.

The Brava comparison tool displays two versions of a file (even in different file formats) side by side or overlaid, with changes highlighted. Because the comparison view can show annotations, you can use it to verify all changes were made.

The Thumbnails module adds enhanced thumbnails to folders, workspaces or search results that let you preview pages and get information about a file—including metadata—before opening it.

Collaboration with threaded discussions

Brava Changemark® discussions allow team members to add and reply to comments. Brava records an audit trail of the discussion and the outcome.

Combining files into a single view or new document

Brava makes it easy to load files from a folder or compound document in OpenText Content Server. Even a folder containing multiple file types can be combined into a single view and printed. In addition, with Brava’s document merge functionality you can create a new file by merging documents or pages from documents into a single file. New documents can be saved as PDF, TIFF or IGC’s secure Content Sealed Format (CSF).

Electronic signatures

Add electronic signatures and create a new PDF of the signed document. Set up templates so signers can click on an area to populate it with their information or click a “Sign All” button. Brava can check the signed document into the Content Server repository. The Brava HTML5 client adds the option to create a signature page. There is also a Content Server workflow step which enables document signing as part of a workflow.

For organizations regulated by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Brava’s electronic signatures capability helps meet guidelines of Title 21 CFR Part 11 of the Code of Federal Regulations.

Redaction tools tailored for OpenText Content Server

Use Brava to remove sensitive content from documents, drawings or images, either automatically with pattern matching and text search or manually with area selection tools. Brava has a “redaction and verification” workflow step designed for Content Server. It also offers a draft mode for review cycles and the ability to redact full pages or just partial redactions, such as removing all but the last four digits of a credit card number.

Secure sharing of sensitive documents

Brava extends the OpenText Content Server permissions set to restrict unauthorized users from downloading, copying, printing or saving files locally. Brava even disables the Print Screen command. Documents can be shared with users who have access to Content Server, but information cannot leave the repository, which helps protect intellectual property from unauthorized release.

Brava’s Group-Based Views allow you to control specific parts of a document each Content Server group member can see. Apply these views to a single document or to all files in a folder to remove sensitive data on a user-by-user basis.

Share documents outside of Content Server by publishing to TIFF, PDF or IGC’s secure CSF, which lets you add document security controls such as password protection, print restriction, file expiration date and more. Add watermarks and banners such as DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL for display on screen and/or in printed documents. Watermarks and banners can be applied at the document level, to an entire folder or folder structure, or the entire system. Include system information like user name, current date or IP address of the user’s machine or pull Content Server categories, attributes and metadata. A tiled watermark feature is even available for printed watermarks.

Working with CAD drawings

Both the Brava HTML5 and the ActiveX clients support vector viewing and CAD geometry, delivering crisp fonts and sharp detail at any zoom level. CAD users can control layer views and see object attributes and hotspots. The Brava ActiveX client also includes takeoff and measurement tools: users can snap measurements to geometry, count items and aggregate measurements, then export them to Microsoft Excel.

What our customers are saying

“Reducing our environmental footprint is important. With Brava, we’re not physically moving documents and we’re not using all the paper to generate copies, so there’s a positive environmental impact.”

“Strategically, when it comes to future initiatives regarding our corporate document management system and handling of multiple formats, such as TIFF, PDF and others, including markup, we will look to Brava as a preferred choice.”

Takeoff lets you take measurements and count items for orders.

Add electronic signatures, seal images or initials to any document, then save the signed document as a PDF.
