I have researched into rock album artwork similar to the genre of my music video and artist. After carefully observing and researching into this significant genre, it is clear to see that most album artwork does not represent the artists star image, rather includes a piece of artwork, usually surreal images for example Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Pink Floyd. Most artists of this genre use the work of an illustrator to use for their Digi pack, this gives the illustrator publicity. This is common with this type of genre, and may be something that I may consider when making final decisions about the artwork of my digipack. This is due to the fact that the specific target audience that the type of artist is reaching out to. However it is also apparent that bands and artists do portray their star image on the front of their digipacks, as this gives a sense of identity and personality to the digipack, and is easily understood by the audience. The artists are usually presented dressed in clothing that represents their genre and style, for example presented in baggy clothing, messy hair, dark lighting and logo suggesting to the audience the name of the artist.
