India-Russia Joint Venture BrahMos India-Russia Joint Venture An advanced version of BRAHMOS land-attack supersonic cruise missile system was successfully test fired on 27 May 2016 at 1200 hrs in the Western Sector by the Indian Air Force (IAF).The flight test conducted in one of the firing ranges in the Western Sector met its mission parameters in a copybook manner. Meeting all flight parameters, the formidable weapon successfully hit and annihilated the designated target. Honourable Defence Minister of India Shri Manohar Parrikar on 28th March 2016 released the fifth edition of the global military yearbook "Brahmand World Defence Update 2016" at the BrahMos Aerospace pavilion on the inaugural day of Defexpo 2016 held at Quepem, Goa. Chief Minister of Goa Shri Laxmikant Parsekar and Dr. S Christopher, Secretary, Department of Defence Research & Development and Director General, DRDO, were also present on the ocassion. The yearbook was released in the presence of Shri Sudhir K Mishra, CEO & MD of BrahMos Aerospace, who handed over the first copy of the book to Shri Parrikar. On 25 June 2016, BrahMos Aerospace successfully demonstrated the integration of world's most formidable supersonic cruise missile system BRAHMOS on Su-30MKI frontline strike fighter of the Indian Air Force (IAF). The demonstration flight, carried out at HAL Nasik, involved carriage of BRAHMOS weapon on the long-range Sukhoi-30 fighter, giving a major fillip to the BRAHMOS air-launched flight test programme. Dr. S Christopher, Secretary, DR&D congratulated the team. He has continuously motivated and guided the BrahMos team to achieve the design capability of the BRAHMOS airborne missile system and personally reviewed engineering activities.
