BPCL commences a pilot project with Ashok Leyland for 7% ethanol mix diesel BPCL-R&D developed the ED7 fuel blend, which is 93% diesel and 7% ethanol. In partnership with Ashok Leyland, the ED7 fuel blend was rigorously tested and verified on the engine test bench. Bharat Petroleum and Ashok Leyland have launched an initial experiment to assess the performance of ED7 (Diesel with 7% Ethanol) fuel. The goal of this program is to develop India's biofuel economy and achieve a stable energy mix. BPCL-R&D developed the ED7 fuel blend, which is 93% diesel and 7% ethanol. In partnership with Ashok Leyland, the ED7 fuel blend was rigorously tested and verified on the engine test bench. Ashok Leyland used the ED7 gasoline in comprehensive laboratory tests on their engines. The ED7 fuel blend significantly reduces pollution levels, including Particulate Matter and Nitrogen Oxides (NOx).
