Every Scouter must complete updated Youth Protection Training by October 1, 2018. Use the summer to take the new YPT at my.scouting.org. The button pictured above will be given to all our Powahay
adults including merit badge counselors that completes the new YPT before October 1. Question: [email protected]
The purpose of the Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops course is to teach Scouts with leadership positions about their new roles and how to most effectively reach success in that role. It is intended to help Boy Scouts in leadership positions within their troop understand their re-sponsibilities and to equip them with organizational and leadership skills to fulfill those responsi-bilities. This is the first course in the series of leadership training offered to Boy Scouts and is a prerequisite for Boy Scouts to participate in the National Youth Leadership Train-ing (NYLT). Scouts should be First Class and above. If you have Scouts that have already taken this course, it could serve as review for a new position. A Scoutmaster or ASM should attend with their Scouts and are invited to be part of the training. Course is led by Scoutmaster Grant Evans and ASM Arnold Feintuck.
Den Chief Training is also being offered — held during but separate from the ILST Course.
Limited to 10 Scouts. Sign up with Arnold Feintuck at the above registration box.
Leadership in Boy Scouting is a vital part of the Scouting program. Boy Scouts in positions of leadership run the troop. They take care of the many tasks necessary for troop and patrol meet-ings and activities to run smoothly. By accepting the responsibilities of troop leadership, Scouts are preparing themselves to be leaders throughout their lives.
