JUNGLE ROCK
GROUND PREPARATION
Choose the best location and excavate the area to accept the Jungle Rock boulder, drain-age, and fall protection material. Refer to industry approved fall protection surface require-ments to determine thickness and depth.
For the most efficient installation, it is wise to have this portion of the project complete priorto the rock arriving to the site. It will eliminate having to move the rock a second time.There are several pieces of equipment that can be used to unload and set the rock intoposition i.e.. forklift with extension forks or a local sign crane with a spreader bar.The rock comes with two eyebolts threaded into lifting anchors at the top of the rock. Usethese two eyebolts to unload and set the rock.Determine the position of the rock in the prepared ground area and rake the sand with agarden rake.Set the rock in place, move accordingly to desired final orientation.Trace the outline of the rock into the sand with the handle of the rake.Raise the rock and set it to the side. Tie the rebar inside the traced area.
PLACING THE CONCRETE
Pour the concrete 4in. to 6in. outside the traced line in the sand. Concrete should be aminimum of 6in. thick.Reset the rock back into its position in the fresh wet concrete. The preset anchor bolts inthe rock will be embedded in the wet concrete. Remove eye bolts while unhooking strapsfrom crane. Seal eye bolt holes with silicone.When the concrete has tightened up (but not hard), use a flat square nose shovel and cutthe excess concrete off the outside of the rock and discard.Allow the concrete to harden at least 72 hours prior to use.
HANDHOLD INSTALLATION
The placement of the handhold has several functions.The degree of difficulty in the climbing experience directly related to how close the handholdare placed. The closer the hold are together, the easier it will be for younger climbers.Keep handholds snug at all times.
