0-0 tie with No. 3 Quinnipiac on Oct. 21• The last time BC lost at Kelley Rink was Oct. 16, 2013, a 3-1 loss to New Hampshire
EAGLES STILL PACING HOCKEY EAST• Despite notching two league losses and two ties - the team’s most non-wins since
BC went 17-2-2 in league play in 2012-13 - Boston College still paces the league in practically every statistic, including the standings
• The Eagles have a league-best 15-2-2 record and a conference-topping 32 points ... BC leads second-place Northeastern (12-7-2) by six points with two games in hand, and third-place Providence (9-7-2) and Boston University (8-8-4) by 12 points each
• In Hockey East games, BC is the conference’s top scoring team (3.68 goals per game), has scored the most goals (70), is top defensive team (1.37 goals allowed per game), has allowed the fewest goals (26), has the top power play (22.9 percent), best penalty kill (94.9 percent) and best net special teams (+22)
• BC is also the only team in Hockey East ranked in every edition of both the USCHO and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls this season
SPECIAL TEAMS DOING SPECIAL THINGS• Boston College’s special teams have been hot this season ... Eagles are second in the
nation in combined special teams, proving successful in 136-of-232 opportunities this season (58.6 percent)
• On the power play, BC ranks second nationally with a 26.1 percent conversion (31-for-119) ... the team’s 31 power-play goals are most in the nation by six (Colgate and Robert Morris, 25 each)
• On the penalty kill, the Eagles lead the nation with a 92.9 percent success rate (105-for-113) while scoring seven shorthanded goals - tied for most nationally
• So far this season, 38 of the Eagles’ 92 goals have come via special teams (31 PPGs, 7 SHGs) ... and BC has added an extra-attacker goal, too
• BC has tallied at least one special-teams goal (PPG and/or SHG) in 24 of 26 games this year
POTENT PRODUCTION ON THE POWER PLAY• As BC’s 31 power-play goals lead the nation, several Eagles are among the national
leaders in the category• Andie Anastos and Delaney Belinskas are tied for fifth nationally with five PPGs apiece,
while Caitrin Lonergan, Erin Connolly and Makenna Newkirk are tied for 16th nationally with four apiece
• Kristyn Capizzano has three to tie for 42nd place nationally
• 11 different players have notched at least one goal on the man-advantage this season and 16 players have power-play points this year
• On Oct. 28, Anastos matched the NCAA record for power-play goals in a game with three, becoming the ninth player in NCAA history to score three PPGs in a game
• The Eagles have scored at least one PPG in 18 of 26 games this season, with 10 multi-PPG games ... BC has scored three power-play goals in a game three times this year
QUAD MOTORS NATION’S MOST PRODUCTIVE MAN-ADVANTAGE UNIT• Boston College leads the nation in power-play goals with 31 and ranks second in
power-play percentage (26.1) ... four players have been a driving force in that success• Sophomore Makenna Newkirk leads Hockey East and is tied for second nationally in
power-play points (14)• Newkirk’s 10 power-play assists are not only tops in HEA, but also second-most
nationally• Andie Anastos is tied for fourth nationally in power-play points (13) and second in
Hockey East (9 pts.) ... Anastos is tied for fifith nationally in PPGs (5) and tied for sixth in power-play assists (8)
• Caitrin Lonergan (11 PP points) is tied for ninth nationally and tied for fourth in the league (7 pts.)
• Megan Keller is tied for 23rd nationally in power-play points (9 pts.) and third in Hockey East (8) ... her 8 PP assists are tied for sixth nationally
SHORTHANDED SHENANIGANS• Boston College leads the nation on the penalty kill, clipping opponents at a 92.9
percent rate (105-for-113)• BC has not allowed a power-play goal in its last 24 PKs dating back to Jan. 7• BC has allowed just two PPGs in its last 54 penalty-kill opportunities during its 14-game
unbeaten run (96.3 percent success rate)• In addition to putting a vise on their opponents’ potential scoring on the man advan-
tage, the Eagles have also scored seven shorthanded goals of their own this year• BC is tied for first nationally shorthanded goals, matching Northeastern’s seven• Four different players have notched shorthanded goals this year: Andie Anastos (2),
Kristyn Capizzano (2), Kenzie Kent (2) and Caitrin Lonergan• Anastos, Capizzano and Kent are tied for fourth nationally in shorthanded goals• Kent and Lonergan each recorded their first career SHGs this season, while Anastos’
were her fourth and fifth, and Capizzano’s her second and third
ANASTOS IS THE EAGLES’ ANCHOR• Captain Andie Anastos has been the team’s anchor this season, leading the Eagles to a
15-1-4 mark in games in which she’s played all three periods• She picked up two points (1 goal, 1 assist) in the season-opening 3-3 tie at Minnesota
Duluth but then was injured in the first period the following night• While Anastos dressed for the next four games, she did not play a single shift in those
games - returning to the ice formally on Oct. 21 in the team’s 0-0 tie against No. 3 Quinnipiac
• She has posted 29 points (12 goals, 17 assists) in 21 full games - a 1.38 points per game mark ... that mark would tie her for 11th nationally if only the full games she’s played were counted toward her total games played
• Not only does Anastos center the top line, she is also on the first unit of both the power play and the penalty kill
BURT POWERING THE UNBEATEN RUN• Katie Burt has been stellar in net during the Eagles’ 14-game unbeaten run, powering
the team from the back• Since the second week in November, Burt is second nationally with a 1.14 goals against
average coming in 13 starts in goal• Burt’s 11 wins since the second week in November are also second-most nationally,
behind Minnesota Duluth’s Maddie Rooney (12) ... Burt’s .923 winning percentage is the nation’s best since the second week in November
• Burt’s three shutouts in that timeframe are tied for second-most nationally behind Desbiens
• In that time, Burt’s .945 save percentage is fourth-best nationally while playing at least three more games than the three goalies above her (Wisconsin’s Ann-Renee Desbiens’ .963, Princeton’s Steph Neatby’s .952 and Cornell’s Paula Voorheis’ .946)
• Burt also played all but one game of the Eagles’ 14 games in that run ... Desbiens played in just 10 of Wisconsin’s 15 games ... Neatby played in 10 of Princeton’s 16 games ... Voorheis played in 10 of Cornell’s 18 games
CONNOLLY’S NEW-FOUND FORWARD SKILLS• Erin Connolly began her BC career as a defenseman, even redshirting as a freshman to
learn the Eagles’ system and gain strength• However, seven games into the season - ahead of the Quinnipiac series - Katie Crowley
converted her to forward • Connolly has since been centering the Eagles’ third line, collecting all 9 of her points (6
goals, 3 assists) in that stretch• She is also part of the power-play unit ... four of her six goals have come on the
man-advantage• While Connolly has converted to forward, she was called on to pinch-hit at defense the
last two games after injuries left the Eagles with just four regular defensemen
BELINSKAS BREAKING OUT• Freshman Delaney Belinskas has seemingly made her adjustment to the college game,
and was named Hockey East’s Rookie of the Month for December• After notching points in just two of the Eagles’ first nine games (which did include a
four-goal game against Maine on Oct. 9), Belinskas has now recorded at least one point in 12 of the team’s last 17 games
• Belinskas’ 25 points are third on the team and her 14 goals are the most on the squad• Nationally, Belinskas’ 25 points are tied for third among all freshmen, and her 14 goals
are tied for third among first-year players• In Hockey East play, she’s tied for sixth in points (21) and tied for fifith in goals (11)
among all players
LONERGAN STORMING ON THE COLLEGIATE SCENE• Freshman forward Caitrin Lonergan has already shown why she’s a frontrunner for
ACHA National Freshman of the Year despite battling injuries midway through the year• She returned to the ice at BU on Jan. 7 after missing two-and-a-half games (spanning a
full month)• She now has 24 points in 24 games, including nine goals and 15 assists• Before she missed the time with injury, Lonergan was the only freshman in the nation
to rank in the overall top 25 in every major offensive category: points, goals, assists, power-play goals and shorthanded goals
• Lonergan’s 24 points rank fifth nationally among freshmen, and her 15 assists are tied for fourth most among first-year players
• Lonergan won Hockey East Rookie of the Month each of the first two months of the season (October and November)
ANASTOS IS HOCKEY EAST’S ACTIVE CAREER SCORING LEADER• Andie Anastos is Hockey East’s active career scoring leader and is one point clear of
second-place Denisa Krizova (Northeastern) who has 88• Anastos is five points shy of cracking Hockey East’s Top 10 in career scoring ... 10th
place is currently held by UConn’s Jaclyn Hawkins ‘08 who had 94 points• Four Eagles are in the current top 10 active scorers, including Kenzie Kent, Kristyn
Capizzano and Megan Keller: 1. Andie Anastos, BC - 89 pts. 2. Denisa Krizova, NU - 88 pts. 3. Victoria Bach, BU - 82 pts. 4. Hayley Scamurra, NU - 81 pts. 5. Paige Savage, NU - 72 pts. 6. Jonna Curtis, UNH - 69 pts. 7. Cassidy Carels, PC - 66 pts. 8. Megan Keller, BC - 64 pts. 9. Kristyn Capizzano, BC - 61 pts. 10. Kenzie Kent, BC - 59 pts.
THE EAGLES’ NEXT CENTURIANS• Three different Eagles are making a push for 100 career points this season after
passing 75 points last season• Kristyn Capizzano has 97 career points, while Kenzie Kent and Megan Keller each have
96 career points• When they make it to 100 points, they will be the 14th, 15th and 16th players to reach the
100-point plateau ... Keller will be just the second BC defenseman to reach that mark
NEWKIRK STEAMROLLING INTO THE LAST PART OF THE SCHEDULE• Sophomore Makenna Newkirk just became the 28th player in program history to record
at least 75 points, doing so on Jan. 20 at Vermont• She reached that mark in 65 games• Newkirk comes into Tuesday’s game with a six-game point streak intact during which
she’s collected eight points• Newkirk has at least one point in 16 of the team’s last 18 games dating back to Oct. 22• When she scores a goal, BC is 6-1-0 ... the Eagles are 14-1-0 when she tallies an assist• With 30 points (10 goals, 20 assists), Newkirk is the team’s leading scorer entering the
Beanpot
KENZIE’S KRAZY SPRING & SUMMER SCHEDULE ...• Kenzie Kent was called in to national team camp this summer, but with USA Lacrosse• The Eagles’ two-sport star was an All-ACC and IWLCA All-Northeast Region honoree in
2016 – while only playing the final 10 of the lacrosse team’s 19 games• She tallied 18 goals and added 17 assists for 35 points and helped lead the Eagles to the
NCAA Tournament• Kent played all 41 hockey games last season, finishing the year on March 20 in the
National Championship game ... on March 26, she suited up for the lacrosse team against North Carolina at home and played the rest of the season
... AND KENT’S ALREADY GARNERING LACROSSE HONORS• And as the lacrosse season starts this weekend, Kenzie Kent is already picking up
preseason honors in that sport• Inside Lacrosse named Kent to its Preseason All-America third team ahead of the 2017
season• BC will kick off the LAX season on Feb. 4, but Kent will re-join the team at the conclusion
of the hockey team’s season
BURT STANDS TALL IN CONFERENCE PLAY, BUT GETS LITTLE RESPECT• Katie Burt is Hockey East’s back-to-back Goaltending Champion and has already
started setting some of the conference’s career records, but she has yet to be voted to the conference’s All-Star First Team in either of her collegiate seasons
• She was a Hockey East All-Star second-team honoree as a freshman and honorable

ence’s 2016-17 preseason coaches’ poll, released in mid-September• It marked the second straight year the Eagles were looked to repeat as regular-season
winners after also copping the top spot in the 2015-16 preseason coaches poll• The Eagles received six of the eight available votes to them, with BU coming in second
and Northeastern ranking third• Combined with the Eagles’ 15-2-2 record in league play through Jan. 25 and results

EAGLES' INTERNATIONAL REGISTRY
DID YOU KNOW??Boston College is the only Div. 1 women’s hockey program
in the country to finish with a Top-5 ranking each of the last six seasons (2010-11 through 2015-16)?
No other program can make that claim.
ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH COURTNEY KENNEDYCourtney Kennedy is in her 10th season on the Boston College women’s hockey staff and has been a key part of the Eagles’ rise to prominence.
Since arriving at The Heights as Katie Crowley’s top assistant, Kennedy has helped BC develop into the East’s top team and one of the nation’s powers, as well as one of the top-choice collegiate hockey destinations for the country’s top players.
In addition to her on-ice coaching duties – with an emphasis on the defensive corps and special teams – Kennedy also heads the Eagles’ recruiting efforts and oversees all hockey operations for the team. She was promoted to associate head coach before the 2012-13 season.
Since 2007-08, Boston College has claimed 12 defenseman spots and five goaltender spots on the Hockey East All-Star team, including both first-team defensemen in 2015-16.
While Kennedy’s defenders earned praise and recognition for their personal accomplishments, the parts come together to form a tremendous unit.
The Eagles are consistently among the nation’s top 10 defensive corps, four times ranking in the top five: 2008-09 (1.75 gpg); 2010-11 (1.73 gpg), 2014-15 (1.21 gpg) and 2015-16 (1.18 gpg).
In 2015, Kennedy was honored by her peers with the AHCA Women’s Ice Hockey Assistant Coach Award, which recognizes an assistant coach’s body of work in women’s hockey.
Kennedy, a Woburn, Mass., native, was a two-time All-America defenseman at Minnesota in 1999 and 2001. As a senior in 2001, she earned Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors. She was also a Top Three finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award. As a junior in 2000, she helped lead Minnesota to its first national title.
Kennedy and Crowley were mainstays on the U.S. National Team, including as teammates on the 2002 and 2006 U.S. Olympic teams. In 2002, Team USA won the silver medal in Salt Lake City, Utah, and in 2006, it took home the bronze medal in Turin, Italy. Kennedy also played for Team USA when it captured the gold medal at the World Championships in 2005.
This year, Kennedy returned as an assistant coach for the U.S. Under-18 National Team where she helped the Americans win gold in January. She also served as an assistant coach on the U18s in 2012-13 and 2013-14, helping lead the squads to a pair of silver medals at the IIHF World Under-18 Championships.
ASSISTANT COACH GILLIAN APPSThree-time Olympic gold medalist Gillian Apps is the newest member of the Boston College women’s hockey coaching staff. She joined Katie Crowley’s staff as an assistant coach in September 2016 and works with the Eagles’ forwards, special teams and handles many of the team’s administrative duties. Apps was a 14-year member of the Canadian National Team and was part of three Olympic gold-medal teams: 2006 in Turin, 2010 in Vancouver and 2014 in Sochi.
She retired from international play in September 2015 with 50 goals and 50 assists in 168 international appearances. In addition to Olympic gold in all three of her appearances, Apps is also a three-time World Champion (2004, 2007, 2012). Apps attended Dartmouth, graduating in 2007 with a degree in psychology. While a member of the Big Green, Apps made 113 career appearances, scoring 90 goals and adding 68 assists. She captained the team as a senior, posting a career-best 46 points (30 goals, 16 assists) en route to ECAC player of the year accolades, New England Hockey Writers Association most valuable player and Patty Kazmaier Top 10 Finalist honors. She graduated as Dartmouth’s career leader in penalty minutes. Professionally, Apps played six seasons with the Brampton Thunder of the Canadian Women’s Hockey League, helping the club win the 2008 CWHL Championship in her rookie season. In 2011-12, she led the squad in scoring with 39 points (19 goals, 20 assists) in 27 games.
ASSISTANT COACH ALISON QUANDT WESTGATEAlison Quandt Westgate has been a part of the Boston College women’s hockey program for the last 15 years and has seen the program rise into one of the nation’s elite teams.
After wrapping up her four-year career on the ice after the 2005-06 season, Quandt joined the coaching staff as the goaltending coach ahead of the 2006-07 season. In her 10 seasons as the goaltenders’ mentor, she has helped develop some of the top goalies in not only the collegiate game, but also for the U.S. National Team pipeline.
Many members of Quandt’s goaltenders have gained conference, national and international recognition.
Since 2006-07, Boston College has claimed six goaltender spots on the Hockey East All-Star team and three conference goalkeeping champions as the Eagles’ stable of goaltenders included Molly Schaus ‘11 (2010, 2014 U.S. Olympian), Kierra Kingston ‘12, Corinne Boyles ’14, Megan Miller and most recently, Katie Burt (2014 & 2015 U.S. Under-18s; 2016 U.S. Under-22s), who has ranked in the top four nationally in practically every goaltending category in each of her first two seasons.
HEAD COACH KATIE CROWLEYIn the 13 years since Katie (King) Crowley arrived at The Heights the Boston College women’s hockey team has undergone a transformation.
From a sub-.500 team when she arrived as an assistant coach to a national power nine years after becoming head coach, Crowley has established the Eagles as the East’s preeminent team and one of the elite programs in the nation.
For her success, Crowley is the two-time defending AHCA National Coach of the Year (2015, 2016) and the four-time defending Hockey East Coach of the Year (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016).
In her 10 seasons as head coach since assuming the role ahead of the 2007-08 season, Crowley has guided BC teams to five NCAA Frozen Fours (2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016), four Hockey East regular-sea-son titles (2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17), two Hockey East tournament championships (2011, 2016) and four Beanpot crowns (2009, 2011, 2014, 2016).
Her players have been just as prolific, earning the 2015 Patty Kazmaier Award, 10 Patty Kazmaier Award Finalist nods, 11 All-America honors, four of the last eight Hockey East Players of the Year awards and four conference rookies of the year awards, in addition to 31 spots on Hockey East All-Star teams since 2008. At the international level, Crowley’s BC teams have featured:• Three United States Olympians• Eight members of the United States’ IIHF World Championship squads• 38 selections to U.S. Four Nations Cup rosters• 24 nods on U.S. Under-22 Select Teams and 2 selections to the Canada National Development
Team• 22 players on IIHF Under-18 World Championship squads (19 Americans, 3 Canadians)
Additionally, both Crowley, her associate head coach – Courtney Kennedy, herself a two-time Olympian – and volunteer assistant goalkeepers coach Alison Quandt have coached U.S. U18 squads at the IIHF World Championships. The Eagles have improved upon the previous campaign in each of the last six seasons. After establishing a new program record for wins (22) in 2008-09, her 2010-11 program set a new mark at 24, which was eclipsed in 2012-13 with 27 wins. That mark was once again re-established in 2014-15 when the Eagles posted 34 wins and then shattered last year with 40 wins - the second-highest single-season total in NCAA history.
On a conference level, the 2011-12 squad established a program record for Hockey East wins with 15 victo-ries, besting the 2008-09 team’s total of 14. That mark has been extended each of the last four seasons: 17 wins in 2012-13, 18 wins in 2013-14 and 20 – as part of an undefeated 20-0-1 season – in 2014-15 before the Eagles posted the only perfect record in Hockey East history (men or women) with a 24-0-0 record in 2015-16. BC has won the last four regular-season titles, the second-longest streak in conference history.
Crowley is a 1997 Brown graduate and played in three Olympic games with the U.S. National Team, winning gold in 1998 (Nagano), silver in 2002 (Salt Lake City) and bronze in 2006 (Turin).
She is married to former Boston College, ‘94 Olympic and NHL player Ted Crowley. The couple has a 3-year old daughter, Camryn, who is frequently found at home games and many road games in New England.
