TODAY OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, KING OF THE UNIVERSE First Reading:
Ezekiel 34:11-12, 15-17 This passage beautifully describes how the
Lord God, as shepherd, will tend his flock. He will rescue those
who are lost, bring back those who stray, heal the sick, and
“pasture” all. Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:20-26, 28 Paul once
again stresses the significance of Christ’s resurrection in the
total divine plan, emphasizing that Christ’s rising means that
those who believe in him will also rise after death. Christianity,
he argues, is meaningless if it concerns only this life on earth.
In the end, even death will be destroyed, and “God will be all in
all.” Gospel: Matthew 25:31-46 With words both poetic and vivid,
Jesus tells the disciples that since he is present in all people,
whatever they do to “one of my least brothers” they do to him; and
whatever they fail to do to his “least,” they fail to do to him.
Monday Rv 14:1-3, 4b-5; Lk 21:1-4 Tuesday Rv 14:14-19; Lk 21:5-11
Wednesday Rv 15:1-4; Lk 21:12-19 Thursday Rv 18:1-2, 21-23, 19:1-3,
9a; Lk 21:20-28 or, for Thanksgiving Day, any readings from the
Lectionary For Mass (vol. IV), the Mass “In Thanksgiving to God’,
nos. 943-947 Friday Rv 20:1-4, 11—21:2; Lk 21:29-33 Saturday Rv

Fellow Parishioners – with the cold and flu season, as well as
coronavirus hitting all at the same time, it is imperative that we
wear a facial mask while attending both daily mass and the Sunday
Liturgy. The CDC has stressed the importance of wearing masks to
curb the spread of the virus. Remember the mask is to cover your
face and not be pulled down on your chin and bring hand sanitizer
for your own personal use. Please let’s work together to keep one
another safe during these uncertain times. Thank you for your
cooperation in this matter and God Bless us all. WEEKLY OFFERINGS

ANNUAL GIVING TREE AT ST. FRANCIS Please take an angel from the
tree in the back of the church. Bring the unwrapped gift with the
angel attached to the gift, and place it under the tree. These
gifts are for the children of the clients of the Deacon Jack
Seymour Food Pantry. The gifts will be distributed on Saturday,
December 19th. As always, thank you for your generosity and for
helping to provide a Merry Christmas for many unfortunate
children.
MESSAGE FROM ARCHDIOCESE “November has been designated as
National Donor Sabbath by the organization LiveOnNY. Here in New
York, there are nearly 10,000 children and adults on the organ
transplant waiting list. These are our family, friends, neighbors
and fellow parishioners. Pope St. John Paul II summed it up well in
Evangelium Vitae when he wrote, “There is an everyday heroism, made
up of gestures of sharing, big or small, which build up an
authentic culture of life. A particularly praiseworthy example of
such gestures is organ donation, performed in an ethically
acceptable manner, with a view to offering a chance of health and
even of life itself to the sick who sometimes have no other hope.
As it states in Matthew 10:8 “Cure the sick...Without cost you have
received; without cost you are to give.” As Pope Francis recently
said, “Organ donation is not only an act of social responsibility,
but also an expression of the universal fraternity which binds all
men and women together.” Being a registered organ donor gives us
the opportunity to provide our vulnerable brothers and sisters with
a second chance at life.” God Bless Us All
