COLOR PROFILE ASSIGNMENTphotoshop/illustrator02_2014
This piece was especially challenging, being my first design utilizing nega-tive space. I spent hours pouring over popular design pieces, studying how negative space was utilized to create images and text.
Working on an initial design, I began with a single wine bottle, changing the scale and moving into different posi-tions but I couldn’t find anything visu-ally appealing in the negative space.
It wasn’t until I placed two bottles side-by-side that I noticed the glass shape. While I liked the minimalist look two bottles provided, I decided to go with six wine bottles lined along the bottom third of the page.
By placing bottles along the entire lower-third of the image, I was able to put text within the bottles, using even more negative space aspects to make the design flow. The text within the bottles also worked well in a minimal color scheme design.
