The Gruffalo

The Gruffalo is a children's book authored by Julia Donaldson, illustrated by Axel Scheffler, published by Macmillan children's books. It is aimed at children between the ages of 3-7, but mainly 5-7. this book doesn’t contain much text, but the text it does have tends to be in small paragraphs, using a simple serif font, and the story uses rhyming couplets to make it easier for young children. The story contains traditional lit, as the story uses a mythical being that is able to talk. This book is 32 pages long, 700 words and is 21.7 x 26.9 cm. I think this page size is ideal to give enough room for the writing and the illustrations. The illustrations used are digital images that could have possibly being a digitized drawing that was covered over in Photoshop and colourized.
