Upcoming Productions & Events
Welcome to the Prospect Playhouse, and our production of Little Shop ofHorrors. To the best of my recollection, almost every year since the building ofthe Playhouse (1990) when the Executive Committee discussed our scheduleof productions for the coming year, someone would pipe up “I’d like to doLittle Shop of Horrors!” This would be greeted by cheers of approval, and theproduction would duly get slotted in to the production list. And every year, forone reason or another, it was cancelled. So you can imagine my joy to finallysee it on our stage, especially since this production is my last as Chairman ofthe Cayman Drama Society.
Certainly one of the more technically difficult productions to stage, I mustcongratulate Sheree Ebanks, her cast and crew for their dedication in seeingit through. I am sure it was the technical aspects that daunted earlier would-be directors, and I can only imagine the problems Sheree has encounteredalong the way. All the more wonderful, therefore, that we are sitting heretonight enjoying yet another professional show, put together by dedicatedpeople who have whole other lives from 9 - 5 each day, but come together ina spirit of harmony and commitment to entertain the theatre-going public ofthe Cayman Islands. Well done, all of you, on a great production.
