    such attachment is a TEMPORARY ATTACHMENT, not a modification of the vehicle. It'slike adding a removable awning or a removable glass door to your porch you don't

    need a building permit since you haven't modified the house. Some cities would limitwhat type of EXTERNAL cosmetics you can add to the outer walls (this could be likened

    to the prohibition to attach crazy flashing lights to a public-road vehicle). But no city or

    landlord may prevent you from placing a temporary room divider, or any other internal,non-permanent attachment.

    Besides, in the past few years the Water4Gas books have already been used bydevelopers and inventors as an inspiration for further developments, in the fields ofHEATING/COOKING with water-fuel, efficiency enhancements of GENERATORS AND

    BOAT ENGINES, etc. Therefore it can be seen that this Technology and knowledge

    should not be taken in the limited scope of you-must-do-this-to-your-vehicle, but inthe broader context of inspiration and general education on what can be done.

    Additionally and you may verify this with your lawyer legalities of the road are very

    different from legalities of the sea, farm equipment and energy generators.

    Bottom line: either you take the viewpoint ofan experiment done by the individual

    which CANNOT therefore be approved as a product, or you take the viewpoint oftemporary attachment, either way you haven't modified the vehicle and you arewelcome to experiment. If you want to remove the device or system before a smog test,go ahead and do that. The tester doesn't want to bother with experiments and he's right

    it's not his job and not his expertise to evaluate experimental technology.

    In case your mechanic is leery of losing his license because HE believes that theTechnology might be illegal, let him make his own decisions. The responsibility must

    always stay with the experimenter you. Not the mechanic. If you happen to need HELP

    from a mechanic, let the mechanic ASSIST you but not do the entire job for you.

    For instance if the experimenter is comfortable with the electrical connections, let him or

    her do that; and if he or she is only comfortable with the mechanical attachment, lethim/her do that. In short, let it be the experimenter's project at their very own risk he

    or she must (in my humble opinion) sign a liability waiver releasing the mechanic ofany liability. The experimenter (the owner of the vehicle or property) must take the

    ENTIRE RISK in writing.

    So we basically have the following three principles:

    1.EXPERIMENTAL: This technology isexperimental and ever-changing.

    2.TEMPORARY: It's not a modification but atemporary attachment.

    3.CAVEAT EMPTOR(Latin for "Let the buyerbeware"): There must be no liability on the

    merchant or the mechanic. As in Roman times,

    the Buyer takes all the risk.

    Abstract: American vehicle owners and aftermarket enthusiasts have the help and

    protection of a lobbying organization named SEMA Specialty Equipment MarketAssociation. SEMA represents the aftermarket products manufacturers, wholesalers,

    retailers and distributors in North America. Their main achievement as far as the saleand use of aftermarket products is the Magnuson-Moss Warranty - Federal Trade

    Commission Improvement Act of 1975 (in short Magnuson-Moss Act) which protectsconsumers from being wrongfully denied warranty coverage by new car dealers or

    manufacturers (whoever covers the warranty or warranties). For example, if your axlehas broken down, they cannot deny warranty only because you have installed an

    aftermarket GPS, or a pollution reducer, or a better radio.

    Sounds obvious? It wasn't obvious before the Magnuson-Moss Act.

    WHAT WE KNOW AND WHAT WE DON'TWHAT WE KNOW AND WHAT WE DON'T

    This book does not pretend to be a scientific research or scientific teaching. It is only arecord of the Author's findings and actual experimentation. Therefore, if you findscientific inaccuracies anywhere in this book, please bear in mind that these descriptionsand explanations are aimed at simplicity and ease of application rather than scientific

    truth.

    Here's a real-life example: Today I was told that our usage of the term Brown's Gas is

    very far from scientific truth... The self-appointed expert claimed that if you took the

    world's top-5 scientists and researchers on the subject, and asked them for their expertopinion on Brown's Gas, they would give you five TOTALLY DIFFERENT explanations.

    Oh well. So what does that mean for us? That we cannot use this term???

    For us, the term scientific truth means:(a) -what worked?(b) -what didn't work?

    - or, in other words, our knowledge and certainty is based solely on RESULTS. Whether

    we can or cannot explain it properly is not the issue. Our scientific truth is simplythis: RESULTS=SCIENTIFIC TRUTH

    For example, if you drink a glass of tea and it relieves your thirst every time, then (foryou) it is a workable technique to relieve thirst. Can you explain how tea works, to the

    fullest extent of micro-organisms and chemical reactions between sub-atomic particlesinside your super-complex body? I don't think so.

    Does the fact that you cannot EXPLAIN tea defy the workability of tea???

    What do you think? If you think it defies workability, then don't read this book any

    further. Because this book comes from the Land of Results and not from the Land ofTheories.

    INTROINTRO

    Ever since I started experimentingwith fuel economy and emissions

    control, back in 2006, I had a problem

    with fuel additives (those you add tothe fuel tank).

    How much is too much? How do youknow?

    Well, in your experimentation towardgreater mileage, you may find this

    invention surprisingly useful.

    The Fuel Enhancers methodis based on U.S. Patent

    number 308,276, grantedback in 1884 to Henry Paineof New Jersey.

    Definition: FUEL ENHANCERS

    I call them fuel enhancers for lack of a better name. For this method, I experimentedwith Acetone. But any hydrocarbon fuel or solvent can be experimented with, such as:

    Benzene, Turpentine, Xylene, Naphtha and Stoddard solvent (White spirit). Evenhousehold materials such as vodka and rubbing alcohol might be found useful here.The encyclopedia can tell you what each material is, but I can bet you they don't knowhow any of these react when used in combination with HHO you wouldn't know until

    you experiment.

    To understand how these substances work and how we can use them let's examine

    the origins of this invention.

    BACKGROUNDBACKGROUND

    Henry Paine's invention was not about electrolysis. Did you know that electrolysis wasold school back in 1884? It was. They used HHO as illuminating gas for lamps, but ithas become obvious around the mid 1800's that it is too explosive for safe use.

    Paine's discovery was that HHO can be made safe for lamps by passing it throughTurpentine or any other hydrocarbon fuel, that the consumption of the hydrocarbon will

    be minimal and it will not be in danger of catching fire. Quite a revelation, for 1884.

    The method I'm describing here uses only the second part of Paine's idea the

    hydrocarbon bubbler - we do not pass HHO through the hydrocarbon fuel. However,the idea is to use a somewhat similar bubbler our VAPORIZER with water and an

    ounce or two of hydrocarbon fuel MIXED WITH THE WATER.

    Complicated? The following diagrams will help clarify (explanation in the next page):

    Two methods can be used, as shown in the diagrams above:

    1. The Water4Gas Vaporizer is attached to the engine (installed) exactly asdescribed in Book 1, and there is no Electrolyzer involved. The only difference isthat instead of just water, we put water WITH any of the fuel enhancersaddedto the water.

    NOTE: you can experiment and add more than one fuel enhancer to the water.

    2. In the second method, the Vaporizer is ADDED to an existing Electrolyzerinstallation. The engine will receive HHO, and ALSO a vapor of water combined

    with a vapor of the fuel enhancer fluid.

    In both variations, the ratio of fuel enhancer vapor that is sucked into the engine iscontrolled by turning the VAPORIZER'S bubbler cap, thus bubbling more or less air intoand through the vaporizer.

    TUNINGTUNINGThe goal of tuning is as usual better and more complete combustion inside an engine.

    Fine tuning can be made by first tuning the engine at idle, and observing itsperformance either via the computer (scanner as in GST #3) if it's a newer car. For an

    older car, you can use a vacuum gauge to monitor optimum performance (GST #4).

    Peak vacuum produced by the engine at idle means peak performance and sometimes

    also best fuel economy. From this point on, only a road test can tell you if the methodproduced significant fuel economy gains in your vehicle. If you see a small change for

    the better, try to improve it by adjusting the amount and also changed the TYPE of fuelenhancer used.

    I believe you can safely add 6% or even 10% of Acetone, Xylene or any otherhydrocarbons to tap water and use it as described here; that's about 1-2 oz for a quart

    jar. You may feel an additionalboost of engine power and performance (additional tothe effect of water alone).

    The fuel enhancer may be consumed faster than water since its evaporation rate isusually higher (as far as my chemistry knowledge). When you feel that the boost effect

    has lessened, add the hydrocarbon a LITTLE bit at a time. I think the only way to knowis by trial and error. To make sure you're not going over the top with hydrocarbon-to-

    water ratio, I'd replace the entire mixture weekly.

    MY EARLY NOTES ON ACETONE vs. HHO

    My experimentation with an OBD-I vehicle (pre-1996) concluded that the use of acetone

    (mixed in with the gasoline in the tank) along with HHO (from the Electrolyzer) do notwork nicely together. The engine became rough and sluggish with both of these on.

    On the overall you'll probably be better off with HHO without acetone. Maybe a complete

    re-tuning of the engine's timing plus very specific spark plugs would have done better,but I was not willing to go there. I wanted to keep it simple, you see? If others wouldn't

    follow it, then what's the point of discovering a sophisticated mechanical method?

    TAP WATER VAPORIZERTAP WATER VAPORIZER

    The Water Vaporizer dispenses water vapor into the air stream of the engine, thusmixing with the air/fuel mixture. The presence of water has long been known to enhance

    combustion all by itself, without HHO.

    1. In this configuration, as shown in the diagram below, there is NO ELECTROLYZER

    and no electrolysis is taking place anywhere!

    2. The Vaporizer is filled with TAP WATER and connected in such a way that engine

    vacuum creates vacuum (low pressure) in the jar.

    The Vaporizer must have vacuum and doesn't work on diesel.3. The atmospheric air is sucked in and bubbles the tap water, thus creating vapor.

    The Fuel Vaporizer works with the same configuration as shown above for the Tap Water

    Vaporizer. The only difference is that the Vaporizer is filled with gasoline whatever fuel

    is normally used by the car engine or stationary engine.Its principle is very simple: vaporized gasoline burns much better than liquid gasoline,

    and part (in small engines maybe all) of the liquid gasoline can be replaced withvaporized gasoline.

    Try starting on regular gasoline from its gas tank, then switching to the Fuel Vaporizerby simply shutting off the passage from the fuel tank.

    A Fuel Additives is any substance (liquid or solid) that is ADDED TO THE FUEL TANK,NOT TO THE WATER or to any device. It is such a deep and diverse subject, that it looks

    like a science all by itself. And it's changing all the time (though slowly) as companieslike AMSoil and Torco and Poladyne keep coming up with new products that may

    be useful to us.

    Let's first check them one by one, and then look at WINNING COMBOS to boost

    Water4Gas technology, based on three ingredients:

    (1) Acetone,

    (2) Xylene,

    (3) Torco GP-7.

    You'll see in a minute how each ingredient works, and how they work together for your

    engine's performance.

    ACETONE IN THE FUEL TANKACETONE IN THE FUEL TANK

    EFFECTS: Acetone has been reported to boost mileage and reduce hydrocarbonemissions. In my 20-year old truck it lowered emissions drastically and made the old

    clunker accelerate much faster. These are clear signs of better combustion inside the

    engine.The theory as to why this is happening: acetone, as a fuel additive, breaksdown the fuel molecules to smaller particles for better vaporization.

    Since fuel cannot explode as a liquid, it needs to be vaporized, andthe more it vaporizes, the more it will do efficient work.

    Acetone purity is more important than any other feature. Some acetonebottles do not carry honest labels, so watch the following instructions

    carefully. Acetone from drug stores, as well as ALL nail polish removers,may make you lose mileage, while causing other problems. Therefore

    I recommend that you use PURE ACETONE only, rather than the technicalgrade found in hardware stores.

    1. OPTION ONE - in the USA the best source is Sally Beauty Supply,

    a chain store with branches all over the place.

    Sally takes web orders, and also their website www.sallybeauty.com will give you

    the nearest store location. Outside the USA they sell in several countriesincluding Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Spain and

    Mexico.

    The 8 oz bottle is good for experimenting and on the website costs less than $2.

    2. SECOND OPTION - Dupli-Color is a a manufacturer of automotive paints,

    primers, and coatings. They have their own PURE acetone that's being sold inauto parts stores.

    3. THIRD OPTION none! Do not use technical grade acetone from a regular paintshop. It's only about 90% pure, but that's not the main problem. The problem is

    in what's been added to it: mostly additives such as Benzoate and water that

    PURPOSELY PREVENT PROPER VAPORIZATION exactly what we don't want in anengine.

    CAUTION: WikiPedia.org says: While strictly speaking, Boric Acid is poisonous if taken

    gal into your vehicle, and do this for every 10gal). Then, take your

    boric acid and add it to the gas/acetone mix.

    This creates a suspension, where the boric acid particles are

    floating around in the gas. Keep adding until the gas won't suspend

    anymore acid, or just put in an amount that doesn't make you nervous(and just work your way up). The reasoning behind these substances

    is that the acetone makes gas burn hotter, and more efficient, and

    the boric acid lubricates things in the engine very well, adding

    efficiency. Some people even add boric acid to their oil,

    transmission, ball joints, power steering, and more! Best of all,

    both substances are relatively cheap.

    WikiPedia confirms that nano-particles of Boric Acid, when dissolved in petroleum or

    vegetable oil can form a remarkable lubricant on ceramic or metal surfaces.

    WHERE TO GET BORIC ACIDWHERE TO GET BORIC ACIDIn small quantities you can find it as an ant/roach killer in the home gardening stores.When used for pet treatment, they usually have acetic acid (vinegar) mixed in with the

    Boric Acid. If it comes in powder form, check the ingredients don't use unless it's pure

    Boric Acid (boracic acid, orthoboric acid, or acidum boricum). DO NOT use Borax(sodium borate, sodium tetraborate, or disodium tetraborate) because it's not the same

    thing.

    Boric Acid may be obtained in large household stores such as Walmart and Costco,

    probably in the first aid section. The cheapest online source I've found in the US is MarkOvard of Guardian of Eden www.dfwx.com/boric.htm, orders taken by phone/email. It's

    near pure (97.7%) Boric Acid.

    XYLENE (XYLOL) IN THE FUEL TANKXYLENE (XYLOL) IN THE FUEL TANK

    Success story that has arrived on my desk Feb.2, 2008:

    "Xylene usage in my 1999 Dodge Van B150 with a 318 engine,

    autotrans. New to water4gas. Used Xylene only for first and second

    full tanks. Got 25 mpg highway. Was getting 13-14 mpg without any

    additives and using regular gas." Mike P. (Vermont, USA)

    EFFECTS: According to this report, Mike boosted his mileage bywith Xylene on a heavy van. Xylene has been reported to

    improve fuel economy and reduce hydrocarbon emissions. In

    my experimentation, it gives me an immediate boost in enginepower and allows me to further lean the air/fuel ratio.

    Xylene also enables the ingredients in the combo formula

    (you'll see it below) to blend well together.

    What is Xylene anyway?

    Not too many people seem to know about it. At the hardware store they will probablytell you that it's a paint thinner. But FireNet International (UK) says it is actually part of

    our everyday gasoline! Let me quote right out of FireNet's glossary they define Xylene

    as Dimethylbenzene. An aromatic compound having the formula C6H4(CH3)2.Xylene is a major component of gasoline.

    When I added 3 oz of Xylene (without Acetone) to my gas tank, it gave an immediateimprovement of performance as soon as I started driving. It added more power and it

    was much harder to kill the engine by leaning the mixture. This, together with the FuelHeater, has helped me boost my fuel economy and also helped me realize that fuel

    economy must be worked out as a combination of many ingredients supporting eachother.

    This is, as usual, purely experimental and must be tested on every vehicle AND fuelgrade you're testing, but it is considered that Xylene all by itself may raise MPG and

    reduce harmful emissions. It may work even better when mixed with Acetone and GP-7

    (formula below).I got the Xylene off the shelf at Home Depot, the Painting Department where all thethinners are. Ace Hardware in my city did not have Xylene, however I found xylene at

    Sherwin-Williams (North America store locator at www.sherwin.com/store_locator/store.jsp)

    The way to get the best price: the first time you buy xylene, open a merchant account

    (it's free) and get a 5 gallon bucket. HOWEVER, ONLY DO THIS AFTER YOU HAVEVERIFIED IN SMALLER QUANTITIES THAT XYLENE WORKS WELL FOR YOU AS A FUEL

    ADDITIVE.

    My Experimental Notes:

    7/10/07: adding acetone +xylene together with a Naphtha-based additive, all three

    together at once, resulted in noticeable loss of power and mileage. Xylene alone wasmore effective, but I'm still testing different combinations.

    7/16/07: My power dropped because I used too much overall quantity! I should have

    kept it to the maximum OVERALL ratio of 3 oz per 10 Gallons. I used 2+2 oz which istoo much. Next time I'll use only 1.5+1.5 of Xylene and Acetone.

    EFFECTS: GP-7 from Torco turns regular fuel into amild lubricant thereby lubricating the rings near TDC

    (top-dead-center, the piston's highest point of travel)

    which is where the engine needs it most. In diesels ithelps prevent the bad effects of extreme low sulfur inthe fuel.

    and water cooled 2-stroke racing engines. In case you didn't know, this engine typerequires lubricating oil to be mixed WITH THE FUEL.

    The GP-7 has unique oiliness additives that reduce friction and wear. It also keeps ringgrooves free of gummy residue and thus REDUCES POLLUTION. According to Torco, it

    also raises Thermal Efficiency (how much of the heat stored in fuel actually translates

    to mechanical work, versus how much is wasted).

    Torco GP-7 can be found in motorcycle and snowmobile shops since those serve many

    2-stroke models. You may call Torco at 562-906-2120, by email [email protected] ororder online.

    An alternative to GP-7 is Torco SSO, a 100% synthetic based 2-cycle oil designed forhigh performance snowmobile engines. The company says: This super cold flow,smokeless formula offers unsurpassed protection against wear, friction, deposits,

    Where to find locally

    From an initial research I've conducted in many motorcycle and auto parts stores aroundNorth Hollywood, I found out that Torco oils are hard to find locally. They have a

    specialized network of distributors, and the only easy way to find them is to conduct amap search at http://www.torcostore.com/about/get_torco.htm, or phone their

    corporate office at 1-800-67-TORCO and ask for a Torco distributor near you.

    Later I found that only motorcycle racing supply stores have it in stock. In Los Angeles I

    found good prices at Cycle Trends, located at 14901 Oxnard St., Van Nuys, CA 91411.The way to find your local dealer, if Torco doesn't know, is by searching Google, Yahoo,

    www.YellowPages.com or www.Local.com for 'motorcycle racing' together with yourcity's name, for example motorcycle racing San Jose.

    WINNING COMBO: AXG7WINNING COMBO: AXG7

    By combo Americans simply mean popular combinations. AXG7 is an abbreviation ofone popular combo consisting of Acetone, Xylene, GP-7. Trial and error experiments

    have uncovered this formula for fuel additive, that you can make at home withoutpaying any inventor or factory. The ingredients are readily available locally as described

    above, and each contributes its own little power to the whole.

    Let me answer a common question here. Many users are afraid that these materials will

    blow up their engines, or damage some inner parts of their car, etc. So let me tell youright off that the FORMULA offered here is very safe, in my view and experience. Yes,

    damage might happen if for example you use tons of acetone. It's your responsibility tomake sure you measure the quantities right. If you're not sure ask somebody!

    I personally know Rod Sutphin of Florida, USA, an honest guy from an honest group -Kiker Performance. Sutphin published his own experiments with acetone and xylene, and

    his test (see results below) confirmed exactly what I have found on my own tests withmy Ford and my Toyota.

    All vehicles had 2 oz. of Acetone added per 10 Gallons of gasoline and 3-4 oz.of Xylene added per 10 Gallons of gasoline.

    In all 3 vehicles the use of Acetone and Xylene added 3-4 miles per gallon!

    In all 3 vehicles the engine ran much smoother and had better response.

    In all 3 vehicles you can barley smell the exhaust; acetone and xylene reallyhelp to cut down on emissions.

    How much to use

    The graph below demonstrates two things:

    1. There is a difference between the reaction of diesel and gasoline engines to

    acetone,

    2. There is a curve for each, whereby not more is better, but there is an ideal

    balance point, and below or above that point you're not gaining as much as you

    could. The yellow area shows you that you may even be losing mileage!

    THE GRAPH IS NOT UNIVERSAL, meaning it does not cover all the engines and gasoline

    grades in the world, and is brought here to give you an idea but not exact numbers.

    It is a known fact toexperimenters, for

    instance, that the

    various fuel gradesavailable on the

    market will eachreact differently to

    acetone. More so

    with gasolineengines than diesel.Additionally, adding

    Xylene and otheradditives will change

    the graph as well.

    AXG7 formula (USA) has two parts:

    PART 1 balance of parts in AXG7 PART 2 how much AXG7 in the tank*

    2 parts Acetone 1 part Xylene

    1 part Torco GP-7 (or Torco SSO)

    Gasoline engines: 3 oz. per 10 Gallons

    Diesels: 2 oz. Per 10 Gallons

    * This is the ratio of how much of the prepared formula to add to your regular fuel whenyou fill up at the pump.

    AXG7 - METRIC formula:

    PART 1 balance of parts in AXG7 PART 2 how much AXG7 in the tank

    2 parts Acetone 1 part Xylene

    1 part Torco GP-7 (or Torco SSO)

    Gasoline engines: 23.7 gr. per 10 liters

    Diesels: 15.6 gr. per 10 liters

    My return-on-investment calculations have shown me that this formula paid for itself, in

    my experience. However, it's not the cheapest. If you want to play with the formula,especially in order to make it more affordable, the first thing to reduce is the expensive

    ingredient which is GP-7 (see table below), and then try to drive with equal amounts ofxylene an acetone. In any case ACETONE is a major player in this formula and should be

    at least equal to the other ingredients.

    AXG7-TS (TS denotes 'teaspoon' see below the table):

    AXG7-TS, in my calculations, showed a better potential of return-on-investment.

    A2X10 (Acetone 2, Xylene 10):

    Gasoline engines: 12 oz. per 10 Gal.**

    Diesels: 8 oz. per 10 Gallons

    * That's 3 to 15 drops of GP-7 into the full tank of the car. Start without GP-7. If you'regetting better results with this formula compared to the previous ones, AXG7 or AXG7-TS, try now with GP-7 in small quantities of a few drops per tank. Stick with what worksbest for you.

    ** Sounds like a lot? Do the math and you may find it costing you less than the gain in

    mileage. In my experimentation with my Toyota Corolla, I got my return and more, butthis formula is not cheap so don't use it blindly. Especially important is to test how muchto use in the tank WHEN COMBINED WITH HHO.

    FURTHER EXPERIMENTATION (ALWAYS) NECESSARYFURTHER EXPERIMENTATION (ALWAYS) NECESSARY

    This information is as said experimental, and will always be. Because driving conditionschange so much, drivers and driving habits change, not to mentioned the wide range of

    differences from one model to another even from the same model last year to thisyear. We'll never be able to calculate for sure what a Mazda 626 uphill in North Dakota

    will do for the Gallon when it has 120,000 miles on the engine. Who's the driver? How

    much wind? You get the point. So the additive formulas only give us, for every car anddriver, a clear starting point as well as a range of blending ratios.

    Yes, and one last thing regarding additives... although these formulas have been tested

    for thousands of miles by many drivers, we are just now starting to see what they willdo with Water4Gas. Please share your notes with our community.

    NOTE: Sometimes using 2-3 tankfuls of gasoline (per formula) is necessary to see a riseor drop in mileage, since the vehicle remembers the previous formula. So don't

    change abruptly or expect a formula to work or change overnight. Give it time to sink in

    (or out, if you remove one). The best way is to let the vehicle forget slowly over atankful of straight gasoline (no additive formulas at all), then resume with the new

    formula.

    You can also save money using this phenomena: add your favorite formula onceevery SECOND refill.

    HOW TO MIX ADDITIVES AND HOW TOHOW TO MIX ADDITIVES AND HOW TOPOUR IT INTO THE GAS TANKPOUR IT INTO THE GAS TANK

    If you have hardship getting the additives, or their combos thatyou have mixed beforehand, into the fuel tank, here's a method

    I use:

    I use a simple measuring cup from the hardware store,

    that costs about $2. It is made of some durable plasticthat has never melted or deformed in two years of usage

    with acetone and xylene. If I'm not mistaken its overallsize is 1 quart.

    Another helpful and safe measuring AND MIXING tool is a32 oz 2-stroke oil mixing bottle, which you can also use

    to accurately blend various fuel mixes. Get one of thesebottles from most 2-stroke oriented shops: motorcycles,

    snowmobiles, etc.

    I used a permanent marker to draw ounce lines on the

    outside of a measuring cup or bottle. I marked 2-ounce,4-ounce and 6-ounce lines that are most useful for me.

    The photo shows a bottle that I pre-marked with theamounts of additives, so I can easily repeat mixing once

    I have found what works best for me. The bottle shown is FOR EXAMPLE ONLY

    and does not necessarily represent the formula I'm using right now.

    FILLING TIP #1: at the pump, fill in the gasoline first, then pour the additive mixusing a long funnel. Your auto parts store is probably the best source for a long

    funnel designed for vehicle use.

    FILLING TIP #2: don't spill the formula on the paint of your car.

    LOW SURFACE TENSION FORMULALOW SURFACE TENSION FORMULA

    THIS FORMULA IS BASED ON FEEDBACK from . One Water4Gas experimenter, John W.from Fountain Valley, California, has reported significant success.

    We've already discussed Xylene, Acetone, etc. What makes those formulas tick, for themost part, is not the energy level directly in the additives. Their value is in REDUCING

    SURFACE TENSION.

    Let's look at that. WikiPedia defines Surface Tension as a property of the surface of aliquid that causes it to behave as an elastic sheet. It allows insects...to walk on water.

    Now, it is the lowered surface tension caused by fuel additives, that allows for A FINERMIST of fuel, when it is atomized by your vehicle's carburetor or fuel injection. Both of

    these devices, carburetor or fuel injection, fail to properly atomize the fuel AVAILABLETODAY which is worse off than the fuel of the 60's and early 70's in terms of energy.

    That's what we want, we want Low Surface Tension. The more we can cause LowSurface Tension, the better atomization (smaller droplets in the fuel/air mixture)hence fuller combustion - resulting in lower fuel consumption!

    So basically all the formulas in this chapter bring about Low Surface Tensionin thefuel/air mixture. Now let's look at a unique material, that has been reported to work all

    by itself. Still experimental and has to be proven vehicle by vehicle, but very interesting.Unlike the combustible, harsh chemicals, John W. used a product based on user- andenvironment-friendly detergent called Liquid Organic Cleaner (L.O.C. or LOC),

    nowadays changes to Legacy Of Cleanhttp://www.water4gas.com/1/cleaner.htm

    Sold exclusively by Amway Global via their independent distributors

    (search online to find a seller). I'm not going to go into the science ofLOC itself because our interest in it is solely based on its ability to

    create Low Surface Tension on water and fuel.

    John W. used only 2 drops of this cleaner in his Electrolyzer. Again, 2

    drops of LOC in a 1/4 gallon of distilled water, with the regular amountof Baking Soda he's been using. He reported a mileage improvement

    from these two added drops!Let me show my calculation on how much LOC we need per gallon of

    gasoline, and my estimation of return-on-investment:

    Assuming that 1 quart gallon of distilled water is good for 900

    miles (in my Toyota), and...

    Assuming that we're getting 40 MPG, then...

    Each quart of water is used alongside 22.5 gallons of gasoline, and...

    In my estimation, the small half-liter bottle ($8-$9) will be useful for 750 uses

    (2 drops each), then...

    Each fill (2 drops) of LOC would cost 1 cent, therefore...

    You need, in this experimental setup, 1 cent of LOC for 22 gallons of gasoline,costing near zero ($0.0005) per gallon.

    If we can get only a small improvement in fuel economy, then I think it will payfor itself quickly.

    There was another important fact John measured his Water4Gas Electrolyzer's gasoutput and there was no change in production. That made him conclude that theElectrolyzer was producing a different TYPE of Brown's Gas. I thought about it, and I'm

    not sure until proven otherwise, but I consider that what LOC does, it does to the FUELinside the engine, and not to HHO production level.

    Further experimentation needed: How much LOC to use? Or in other words what is the optimal ratio of LOC to

    water?

    Is it doing something to the water? Or to the fuel? This can be checked simply byadding a couple ounces of LOC to the FUEL TANK directly. If it boosts power (you

    should be able to feel it right away) then it's helping to affect the Low SurfaceTensionof the fuel, not the water.

    What does this formula do on a diesel? I assume it is diesel needs any help itcan get in terms of fuel atomization.

    Are the mileage results more or less uniform, or do vary widely from one vehicletype to another? I suspect that the answer to this would be a definite yes.

    In a previous chapter you've seen the experimentation notes regarding

    gen-sets. I mentioned the fuel additive that CARTER BLANKENSHIP IIIfrom Tennessee used on the Briggs & Stratton engine. The additive

    obviously helped Blankenship to gain longer run time under all load

    ranges.

    Im not sure which Lucas additive exactly but the ratio he used was 7%of additive to unleaded gas, or in other words 1 part of additive AND 14

    parts of gasoline.

    Where do you get Lucas fuel additives?

    If your local auto parts store doesnt carry it, find retailers at the company's websitewww.LucasOil.com/retailers/

    Consult your store or gen-set dealer on the additive that best fits your machine.

    ALSO try the formulas provided above, and compare the results to Lucas Additives.

    HHO and the additives may extended the lean limits of your gen-set, or in other wordsallow you to work with leaner mixture without significant loss in power. Try to lean the

    mixture by adding more air and lessening fuel. Exactly how to do this depends on themachine consult your dealer or its user manual.

    WHY DO I NEED TO CHANGE FUEL/OIL FILTERS?WHY DO I NEED TO CHANGE FUEL/OIL FILTERS?

    When you use Acetone, Xylene or AMSoil's 'Performance Improver' (P.I.), you may alsoneed to change your oil filter after your first 3-4 tanks if you notice a drop in mileage.

    That's because these products have the power to clean up gunk buildups in your fueltank and fuel system which will inevitably end up in your fuel filter.

    In my estimation you will not have to change the filter frequently after the first cleanup.Actually with the techniques offered in this book, junk such as unburned fuel will be less

    likely to develop/accumulate, and the little that will develop can now be filtered out bythe PCV Enhancer (see chapter).

    Also Recommended: install a new and improved air filter such as K&N (works great forme) or AMSoil's PowerCore air filter, as well as a high quality oil filter such as AMSoil or

    Donaldson (selection guide below).

    The bigger the better

    That is, when you compare a large filter from a good brand to another good brand but

    smaller. I'm not saying take a crappy no-name filter just for its size. But do try to fit thelargest filter that will fit your engine. It's a long term investment that pays off $100's if

    not $1000's in maintenance savings.

    Also make sure a replacement oil filter has an anti-drainback valve. The purpose of

    this valve is to retain oil in the filter for quick dispersion to the upper part of the engine,the part which is furthest from the oil pan (bottom of engine) but needs quite a lot of

    lubrication. This too will pay you back nicely in reduced maintenance.

    RECOMMENDED OIL FILTERSRECOMMENDED OIL FILTERS

    In the long run it is important to keep the engine and its oil clean of all particles that

    might deteriorate its performance. Lower engine conditions leads to loss of power andpoor performance including gas economy. Filter quality, be itself, may add a few good %

    to your fuel economy.

    Extensive testing (I got a first hand testimonial from a client who's been using AMSoil

    for 15 years so I started using it myself) has shown that AMSoil filters outperform allregular filters.

    Why change my existing air filter?

    1. When replacing the big bulky air filter box with a small (and usually much better)air filter, you leave room for Water4Gas installation. Great for European cars, PTCruisers, new Beetles and other tight engine compartments.

    performance cars such as the high-end Mercedes Kompressor and BMW models they add air by pushing it into the engine intake with powerful airflow turbines.

    However, that's very expensive, and not practical for most experimenters.

    The golden path is to use air filter that are the least restrictive let the engine

    breathe and increase air flow. This will help increase the air to fuel ratio (a leanermixture hence better mileage).

    The best air filters that I'm aware of, are the following:

    Our main but not exclusive concern is better air flow, to assist mileage. The restis extra benefits: longer engine life, as well as larger inner capacity means longer

    filter service life so you don't have to change them often.

    Comparison:

    K&N, as far as I know, are all washable and reusable. AMSoil's "Ea" series are

    also washable. I'M USING K&N FLAT FILTER IN THE VW JETTA, VERY SATISFIED.

    On the other hand, K&N lets more dirt flow through.

    Is this good or bad for us? Only extensive mileage tests AND other long-termperformance test can tell, and it's next to impossible to quantify the exact return

    in dollars.

    I chose K&N, and purchased the K&N filter they had at Auto Zone. As soon as I

    installed it, I felt a significance rise in engine pull and acceleration due to the lessrestricted air flow.

    HIGH OCTANE GOOD, ETHANOL BADHIGH OCTANE GOOD, ETHANOL BAD

    I recommend that you consider using a higher octane gas even if your vehicle is not

    designed for it. I don't know what you drive and this is a general advice only.

    I've read a web document by The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that said that higheroctane fuel is a waste of money. Maybe it is test it out as IN CONJUNCTION with

    Water4Gas technology and see what happens. Results will vary from car to car, stateto state and even from one gas station to another. When you have tested your vehicleand fuel station(s) and you have numbers, do this simple math:

    If for instance higher octane saves you 8% but costs 10% more, skip it.But even the FTC admits that higher octane does contribute to the prevention of

    knocking (pinging). In any case, hold this in mind: ETHANOL is a a pure WASTE OFMONEY. It has 2/3 the energy of gasoline and will decrease MPG in almost all vehicles!

    Unless you own the Saab Aero BioPower concept car... which is specifically designed forethanol (E85). Only problem is, this car is so expensive that it will take a lifetime to earn

    back the fuel cost savings :-)

    Now you'll see a simple math connected with ethanol. In certain areas of the country

    you cannot avoid using ethanol because it goes out of every gas station if you want it ornot. However, if you realize the facts you'll be able to take action, somehow, sometime

    and I'd leave that up to you to decide. Below are simple energy facts not the politics

    behind them.

    Let's calculate the energy of ethanol relative to gasoline:

    A gallon of ethanol has 76,000 BTU (British Thermal Unit, the standard unit to measureenergy, or in more precise words how much HEAT can be obtained from a substance or

    machine)

    In gasoline we have 116,090 BTU in every gallon, says zFacts, and elsewhere I found

    124,260 BTU (but I'll take the lower number for now).

    That gives us that ethanol has less than 2/3 (65.5%) the energy of gasoline.

    On the inverse side it can be calculated that each gallon of gasoline has 1.53 the energyof a gallon of ethanol. By the way, diesel fuel has 138,690 BTU in every gallon (129,500

    BTU, says WikiPedia), which also means that adding ethanol to it would definitely makethat gallon weaker in terms of BTU.

    The truth on Ethanol mileage vs. Ethanol cost

    Some Ethanol proponents claim it doesn't hurt their mileage, but this goes against

    physics, and you will not find the ethanol lobby making such fraudulent claims--theycould be sued. But just to be sure, zFacts analyzed all of EPA's ethanol mileage tests

    for one year and, big surprise, ethanol gave exactly 2/3 the mileage of gasoline.

    The USDA tells us that ethanol cost 57 more per gallon on average over the last 25

    years (and it still does). Put that together with the fact that it takes 1.53 gallons to equala gallon of gasoline.

    The changing tides of gasoline quality

    DID YOU KNOW that fuel formulas are not static - the fuel manufacturers change themduring the year? Yes It's true, and usually it's the winter formula that will be less

    economical for you. Summer formula 114,500 BTU/gallon and winter formula only112,500 BTU/gallon - almost 2% less energy. The gas pump will give you no warning.

    So if you see a drop in mileage one day without an apparent reason, think about the

    tides of fuel quality.

    NOT ALL GAS STATIONS ARE CREATED EQUALNOT ALL GAS STATIONS ARE CREATED EQUAL

    Try not to refuel in gas stations that have the 10% Ethanol sticker on the pumps.

    In California it is hopeless because all gas stations have ethanol. In other parts of the

    world it varies from company to company and from country to country. In a minute I'lltry and show you the little that you can do to protect your fuel money.

    What the heck is ethanol anyway? Also known as ethyl alcohol, drinking alcohol or grain

    alcohol, ethanol is a flammable, colorless, slightly toxic chemical compound, and is bestknown as the alcohol found in alcoholic beverages. Produced today from corn as a

    common fuel additive, enforced on drivers across the USA and other locations as an

    improvement to gasoline.

    It is very bad both for gas economy of the individual AND to national economy, since its

    low energy efficiency requires us to import MORE petroleum for every gallon ethanol ofwe use.

    NOW THE PROBLEM I SEE WITH ETHANOL IS TWO FOLD:

    1. We pay MORE out of pocket for a substance that is 2/3 weaker. It's true that weget only about 10% of ethanol in every gallon of gasoline, but in that case we should be

    paying LESS per gallon.

    2. Ethanol takes food off the tables of poor families and poor countries. In my humbleview, agricultural fields especially now that we have alternatives must be preserved

    for growing foods. Even if you wanted to grow fuel as an agriculture, you can do itusing alternatives that DO NOT take food (they are not edible) and do not take farm

    land either: algae and Jatropha Curcas (a big subject in itself;I think I need todedicate a book just for that).

    How to protect your fuel money

    Some stations, such as Mobil in my town, don't bother to have the ethanol stickeranymore. It took several phone calls to Mobil's corporate office to find out that they do

    have ethanol, and a lot of it (10% I think but they wouldn't divulge exact numbers anddefinitely wouldn't give me official documents).

    I have found that 76 have only 5.6% ethanol and therefore provide the best miles perdollar, per my evaluation and per the experience of my mechanic. Anyway you should do

    the same pick up the phone and ASK your local gas company how much ethanol theyadd in your district.

    Also, use GST #3 (scanners) to easily measure the effect of each gas station. That'sbecause refineries now play with a large number of additives (verbally I was told 130

    additives, on WikiPedia I found less than 60) and there is an infinite number of soup-likerecipes that can be created. Some of their recipes may be bad (as far as fuel economy)

    for all vehicles in general or to your vehicle in particular and the only way to reallytell is to test.

    Warning from England

    The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs published a warning about potential

    volatility of gasoline, that might be caused by mixing grades:

    Blending small amounts of ethanol (up to 5%) into petrol does

    produce a measurable increase in volatility. Oil companies

    must ensure that fuel volatility meets specified limits (EN

    228) so petrol containing ethanol will be adjusted to this

    specification.

    However, if fuel containing ethanol is mixed in the vehicle

    tank with purely hydrocarbon fuel an increase in the

    volatility of the blend in the tank can result. This may

    produce unwelcome symptoms of poor hot starting, erratic

    running including running too rich, or too lean, associated

    with excessive fuel volatility.

    Unfortunately, it seems that not all fuel containing up to 5%

    ethanol is labeled as such, so the scenario of mixing two

    types of fuel in the vehicle tank is a realistic one, with a

    significant probability that driving difficulties may result.

    The simplest solution? By experimenting, and by asking questions, try to find the best

    gas in town and then stick to that station.

    Interesting data from that same website: Ethanol added to

    petrol is usually about 96% pure ethanol and 4% water.

    The word 'scientific' is derived from the Latin word 'scio' which means to know, tounderstand. If you want to be totally scientific about gas stations and octanes, whichis to say you want to know the exact MONEY VALUE of every drop of fuel you put in

    your tank, here's a simple formula I have developed for your use.This formula calculates the relative value of your gas investment. The lower the number,the better the deal is for you. It does not matter if you pay per gallon or liter, it does not

    matter if you pay for fuel with American Dollars, Mexican Pesos or Norwegian Kroner. Italso does not matter if you enter your mileage is expressed in Miles per Gallon or Liters

    per Kilometer (Kilometers per Liters is more popular).

    As long as your calculations are consistent, you'll be comparing apples to apples. All

    you're interested in is COMPARATIVE numbers to help you choose the best gas pumpin MONEY VALUE.

    As far as this approach goes, ignore most fuel economy calculators available online,

    simply because they ignore the priceof gasoline. Let's say for example thenew miracle gasoline grade Super-Duper-Blah-Blah gives you 15% better

    mileage, but costs you twice as much as

    regular.

    It's obviously not worth it, is it?

    In real life, most cases are more evasiveand harder to evaluate without using the

    proper math. The calculation formulabelow will simplify the mathematics for

    those not-so-obvious cases.

    However, I've also found the online

    calculator shown here, that not onlycalculates the true cost per mile (or km)

    but is also very simple AND immediatelydisplays the graph of fuel economy soyou can compare between two vehicles.

    I find it very useful, because what is

    The formula is very simple:

    Fuel Economy,its Money Value =( Distance driven )

    ( Fuel consumed ) x ( Price per Gal/Liter )

    The higher the number, the better the deal for you! Again, the result cannot beexpressed in MPG or anything else that's globally known. It will only give you a number

    that's comparable to you and possibly to other mileage seekers in your country,provided they are using the same measurement units and currency.

    For example: let's say you have driven 100 miles using $4.50 fuel, and you'veconsumed 5 gallons of fuel in that trip. The calculation will be 100 divided by 4.5, then

    divided by 5, so your Fuel Economy value calculates as 4.44

    Now let's assume you've improved your results by installing Water4Gas, and alsostarted buying a lower grade gasoline for only $3.99. Since you have now consumed, forthe same 100 miles (remember it's just a random example) only 3 gallons of gasoline,

    your new Fuel Economy value calculates to 8.35

    This higher number tells you that YOU HAVE IMPROVED (nearly doubled) YOUR FUELECONOMY in this example, IN TERMS OF DOLLAR VALUE - not in terms of mileage.

    Another way of looking at it: you put the same amount of fuel, let's say 30 gallons, and

    the distance you can drive with that amount rises (longer distance), then your FuelEconomy value will increase. Using a cheaper fuel will also INCREASE the value. Sothere you have it a simple way to calculate and track your results. Just remember thatif you want to compare results with another experimenter, they have to be using the

    same currency and measurement units as you do.

    GAS PUMP TIPS & TRICKSGAS PUMP TIPS & TRICKS

    1) As temperatures rise in underground storage tanks, gasoline loses energy, but fuelprices don't flex to compensate the consumers. Fill up your gasoline tank in the morningor dawn when it's cool. That's because gas stations have their storage tanks buried

    below ground; and the colder the ground, the denser the gasoline, so you'll be gettingmore mass of gasoline per gallon.

    This not an urban legend! An article published in the Los Angeles Times on August 22,

    2007, reported of recent tests by the California Division of Measurement Standards.They found evidence to the allegation that consumers are being shortchanged by

    gasoline retailers and the oil industry, amounting to an annual $2-billion rip-offnationwide ($700 annually for a large truck). Unfortunately this article has been taken

    down, but you can look this up on Google if you want to check this fact.

    Actual temperature fluctuations are small (due to the thick walls of underground storagetanks) so they don't make a dramatic difference, but it adds up and it doesn't cost you

    anything to use this tip.

    2) If a tanker truck is filling the stations tank at the time you want to buy gas, do not

    fill up; most likely dirt and sludge in the tank is being stirred up when gas is beingdelivered, and you might be transferring that dirt from the bottom of their tank into

    FUEL HEATERFUEL HEATER

    THE STORY BEHIND THE FUEL HEATERTHE STORY BEHIND THE FUEL HEATER

    Water4Gas Fuel Heater is no big news. It allstarted with similar technologies I've seen on

    the Internet. There was nothing wrong with

    them but the (big) price.

    I liked them but didn't want to pay $170-$220

    for what seemed like a rather simple device.Even if I did buy it, I realized, Water4Gasexperimenters in poor countries would not be

    able to afford it with gas prices being doublethan USA and salaries as low as $100-$400 a

    month.

    Another reason to keep it simple was that this

    device, by itself, will not make dramaticchanges in fuel economy. A research I've

    conducted showed that although some $200fuel heaters claim 300% increase in gas

    economy (where the hell did they get thesenumbers?) it adds only a few percents. It

    must be much more affordable than $170, orwe'd all skip it.

    So I stepped into Home Depot and gathered a

    few hardware pieces from the PlumbingDepartment that seemed like they could do

    the job WITHOUT any special tools. So anyonein the world would be able to replicate it using

    off-the-shelf items and a pair of pliers. The items I've chosen are sturdy enough to

    survive the entire life span of the vehicle, and cost roughly $16 in parts as shown inWater4Gas Book 1.

    It was an immediate success. My mechanic approved the strength and feasibility of mydesign, and installed it for me in about half an hour. The Fuel Heater should fit diesels

    and turbos as well. Later he installed a similar home made heater on my diesel car, too,and it works well.

    I know all about the other designs out there. They are ingenious. But also expensive tomake and hard to install. The idea here is to keep it simple.

    Before we move on, let me tell you why I think every car and every car owner needs thisdevice. There is excess heat from the radiator that is not just being wasted, it heats up

    the atmosphere as well. Why not take this heat and use it to warm up the fuel? Warm

    fuel will burn more thoroughly, which will lead to less emissions.THE ENVIRONMENT WINS TWICE!!

    Therefore I believe that you should have this device, although the expected mileage

    benefit from THIS device are is impressive in itself. Fuel Heater will add a just fewpercent to the overall fuel economy, but due to its small price and small maintenance, it

    will soon pay for itself while helping you to protect your environment.

    And I will thank you for doing this because it is my environment, too.

    Cold Climates

    There are usually a summer formula and a winter formula supplied to us by the petrolcompanies. The winter formula takes into account that environmental heat is so low that

    gasoline is hard to evaporate and therefore hard to ignite (resulting in incompletecombustion) and hard to start the engine when cold.

    Sometimes a vehicle will drive from a warm area into a cold one, and other times anarea will cool down before winter gasoline has been filled out in all vehicles. In these

    cases, a permanently installed Fuel Heater is a positive thing to have. With a FuelHeater, you may never notice a problematic weather unless your neighbor or colleague

    complains about it.

    It is noteworthy that the suggested Fuel Heater does not take electrical energy, and will

    start to be effective only after the radiator output hose is hot.

    SAFETY FIRST!SAFETY FIRST!Fuel flowing through some kind of a heater (not this one) might boil and create what

    mechanics call vapor lock but only IF you connect it to the exhaust or somethingreally hot. The particular Fuel Heater described in this chapter must be installed only on

    the radiator output (without cutting into it in any way). The temperatures available thereare normally between 170-205 Fahrenheit (77-96 C), less than half of what's needed

    for boiling gasoline, 420-428 Fahrenheit (215-220 C). Therefore the recommendedFuel Heater will pre-heat the fuel but will NOT boil it, therefore it is 100%SAFE.

    So let's make it clear once more: NEVER ATTACH THIS DEVICE TO THE EXHAUST

    SYSTEM!!! Don't even think about it.

    Also, for installation do NOT use fuel injection hoses from the auto parts store or similarsource the hoses must be of the high pressure, high temperature type specified in theinstallation chapter (Water4Gas Book 1). This is a critical safety point because theregular fuel hose may swell and/or crack under the high heat and pressure developed bythe Fuel Heater causing fuel leaks and a potential hazard. SOME PEOPLE SAY YOU CAN

    USE HYDRAULIC HOSES but from Goodyear and other hydraulic supply companies Ihave learned that hydraulic hoses are only capable of handling occasional short-time fuel

    passage, NOT continual flow.

    I've been told something that I don't understand yet, but for safety's sake I must deliverthis warning to you: IT IS NOT SAFE TO USE A FUEL HEATER ON CARBURETOR-EQUIPPED CARS UNLESS THEY HAVE AN ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP.

    BUILDING AND INSTALLING THE FUEL HEATERBUILDING AND INSTALLING THE FUEL HEATERThe procedures for manufacturing and installation of the Fuel Heater are both very

    simple as described in Book 1 of this series. However, installation must be done by aprofessional, to make sure there are no gasoline leaks or any other hazards connected

    with the fuel lines.

    The photo show installation in my Toyota Corolla. Basically you place the Fuel Heater on

    the radiator output hose, cut the original fuel line and connect it to the Heater. Then itswrapped with several layers of aluminum foil to lock in the heat AND TRANSFER IT TO

    THE FUEL.

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONBACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

    The PCV Enhancer has its roots in an old invention by an inventor unknown to me. Itbecame widely known after the March 1992 publication called PCV Jar in

    KeelyNet.com, which was signed by Jerry W. Decker, Ron Barker and Chuck Hendersonof Vangard Sciences, Texas. This publication has plugged this invention into the Public

    Domain and into public awareness of the PCV problem thus it has gained quite apopularity between mileage seekers (hey, I just found a great name for us).

    WHY IS THIS NEEDED?WHY IS THIS NEEDED?

    Many drivers and all mechanics arefamiliar with a device that has been

    with us since 1960's. It looks like this>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    and is called PCV (not PVC) Valve.

    PCV = Positive Crankcase Ventilation.

    WikiPedia explains what PCV is, andthe problem they're trying to solve:

    As an engine runs, the

    crankcase (containing the

    crankshaft and other parts)

    begins to collect combustion

    chamber gases which leak past

    the rings surrounding pistons

    and sealing them to the

    cylinder walls.

    These combustion gases are sometimes referred to as "blow by"

    because the combustion pressure "blows" them "by" the pistons.

    These gases contain compounds harmful to an engine, particularly

    hydrocarbons, which are just unburned fuel, as well as carbon

    dioxide. It also contains a significant amount of water vapor. If

    allowed o remain in the crankcase, or become too concentrated, the

    harmful compounds begin to condense out of the air within thecrankcase and form corrosive acids and sludge on the engine's

    interior surfaces.

    This can harm the engine as it tends to clog small inner passages,

    causing overheating, poor lubrication, and high emissions levels. To

    keep the crankcase air as clean as possible, some sort of

    ventilation system must be present.
