1. INTRODUCTION1.1 Description

1.2 Objective

2. REFERENCESa. Handout Ir. Sardono Sawitrob. Table. Definition of Continous Load and Load Factor

3. ABBREVIATIONSLF = Load factorCL = Continue loadIL = Intermitten load

4. SUMMARYThe selected generator :Merk = Volvo PentaType = TAMD74 TAFrequency = 50 HzRotation = 1500 RPM

Determining the number of generator, need to find the total power that will be consumed in fourcondition. Those are sailing condition, manouvering condition, loading and unloading conditionand at port condition. The important one is to be focused on load factor, the permissible loadfactor is 60% for the minimum and 86% for the maximum. With those requirement, we cancompare many type of generator with the same load factor requirements.

The purpose of this document is to calculate the effective number of generator and thetechnical specification of generator-set and shore connection.

VOLVO PENTA INBOARD DIESEL

TAMD74A6-cylinder, 4-stroke, direct-injected, turbocharged marine diesel engine

with aftercooler – crankshaft power* 154–257 kW (209–350 hp)

Reliable and powerfulThe TAMD74A is a powerful, reliable and eco nom i cal marine diesel built on the de- pend a ble in-line six design. Developed for Medium and Heavy duty op er a tion for displacement, semi-plan ing and planing craft.

Durability and low noise levelsDesigned for easiest, fastest and most economical installation. Well-balanced to produce smooth and vi bra tion-free operation with low noise lev el. Comprehensive program of factory-fi t ted equipment for perfect matching to spe cifi c customer requirements, e.g. re verse gears, PTO’s, cooling systems, elec tri cal systems. To maintain a controlled working tem-perature in cylinders and combustion cham bers, the engine is equip ped with piston cooling and freshwater-cooled oil cooler. The engine is also fi tted with re-placeable cylinder liners and valve seats/guides to ensure maximum du ra bil i ty and service life of the engine.

Low exhaust emission levelsThe state of the art, high-tech injec-tion and charging system with low internal loss es contributes to excellent com bus tion and low fuel consumption. The TAMD74A is certifi ed according to IMO – the R2 (257 kW) according to IMO US/EPA.
