Becoming a Global Franchise‘BonChon’ is the Korean word for “original village.” Just as people

yearn for their homelands, we hope that our customers will long

for our amazingly crispy, juicy, and flavorful chicken wherever they are.

As we grow and expand, we will make sure that he who seeks

BonChon shall always find it. We firmly believe that our tasty and

unique chicken will usher in a new era of fried chicken.

IN 2002, the first Bonchon Chicken opened in Pusan, South Korea. Bonchon

Chicken quickly gathered popularity and became a local favorite

for its crispy, juicy, yet lean, fried chicken with an astounding Soy

Garlic or Hot flavor. The unique and quality taste of Bonchon Chicken

developed a strong customer base and helped Bonchon Chicken

expand to 25 restaurants in South Korea alone.

IN MAY 2006, Bonchon Chicken entered the US market, opening its first restaurant

in Leonia, New Jersey.

BY THE END OF 2007, Bonchon Chicken was operating six restaurants in New York,

New Jersey and Virginia. Since then, it has become an east

coast favorite.

WE CONTINUE TO RECEIVE MUCH PRAISE FOR OUR CHICKEN AND A GREAT DEAL OF INTEREST IN OUR FRANCHISE FROM THE GLOBAL COMMUNITY.

PRODUCTSBonChon’s main product is our fried chicken. We also serve several

Korean-influenced side dishes, appetizers, and non-chicken entrees.

Our menus are adapted locally and thus vary slightly from location

to location.

STORE CONCEPTSWe offer two different store concepts for our franchisees.

1. TAKE-OUT-DELIVERY STOREA small store, perhaps around 1,000 sq. ft.

Take-out and delivery with a limited amount of seating.

Menu will include chicken and side items.

2. FULL-SERVICE-DINE-INA restaurant around 2,000 sq. ft. or more.

Take-out and delivery will be optional, but highly recommended.

Menu will include chicken and side items, plus dishes we and

the franchisee deem appropriate for region of business.

Company Ownership

100% of the company is owned by BonChon’s President & CEO, Mr. Jinduk Seh.

Mr. Seh … is the CEO and the Founder of BonChon Inc. in Korea as well as the owner and CEO of BonChon Franchise LLC, the U.S. subsidiary of BonChon Inc. He has more than 21 years of experience in the restaurant industry and has successfully seeded and managed various franchise restaurants from their early stages.

From 1993 to 1995, he served as the General Manager of Hyunpoong Halme Gomtang (Hyunpoong Grandma’s Oxtail Soup).

Furthermore, from 1995 to 2002, he served as the CEO of Chuncheon Dakgalbi Restaurant (ChunCheon Chicken Rib Restaurant), a famous dakgalbi (chicken rib) franchise restaurant with more than 20 years of experience in Korea.

In 2002, he opened his own franchise compay, BonChon Inc. in Korea with specialty in spiced fried chicken (a.k.a. “BonChon Chicken”).

In 2006, he opened the very first Korean franchise fried chicken restaurant in the United States. BonChon Chicken received more favorable reviews in the United States and started a new fried chicken trend. Especially, the Esquire magazine hailed our chicken as the best Buffalo Hot Wings in America.

BonChon Chicken is an international brand with more than 50 restaurants currently operating in five countries.

A light layer of batter applied pre-frying creates

our special thin and very crispy skin.

Under the crispy, thin skin layer is tender and

moist meat.

There should be a subtle, airy space between

the meat and the skin – a sign that a good portion

of fat has been sucked out during the double-fry.

03. THE cooking process

DOUBLE-FRIED means… Our chicken is cooked-to-order.

Our chicken is fried once, then fried twice after a short period of “breathing.”

The double-fry produces a thin and crispy skin while fat is sucked

out. Despite losing fat, the wing meat retains its moisture

protected by the thin battered skin.

HAND-BRUSHED Our chicken is not carelessly dumped and mixed in a bowl of sauce,

but hand-brushed, piece-by-piece, with our signature sauces,

immediately after the second fry.

In summary BonChon Chicken is:

Crispier, juicier, leaner,

TASTIER CHICKEN.

BonChon’s crispy fried chicken is juicy and lean on the inside and

crispy on the outside, which is coated with one of our two boldly

flavored secret sauces. Our chicken contains 0g of trans fat and isn’t

greasy like your average fried chicken or buffalo wings. In all aspects

of preparation, taste, and texture, BonChon chicken is one-of-a-kind.

Our special sauces are made in our own factory in South Korea. No

other seasoning is added to our chicken. The unparalleled crispiness

of the skin and the moistness and leanness of the meat underneath

are achieved by our unique double-frying cooking process.

As savory as the chicken are our side-dishes, which include cubed

radishes (Korean equivalent of the pickle) and kimchi coleslaw. They

serve as refreshing and crunchy palate-cleansers accompanying each

bite of our chicken.
