SIGNIFICANCE OF RELIGION

Religion is often defined as a set of belief that explain the world and the universe;however,forindividuals,religion and spirituality are more than just a way of understanding the world..Many religions have narratives,symbols,traditions and sacred histories that are intended to give meaning of life or to explain the origin of life.They tend to derive morality,ethics,religious laws or a preferred lifestyle from their ideas about human nature.According to some estimates ,there are roughly 4200 religions in the world.Religion defines who you are,what you are,and your views

about the world around you.

IMPORTANCE OF RELIGION:

In our lives:

Religion is not only necessary but a very significant part of our lives.There are people who are willing to even die for the sake of religion.There are others who even renounce the world,their families and everything they own just to follow some religions beliefs or paths which would bring them nearer to god.

To the youth:

The importance of religion for the youth is mainly to develop social etiquette.It is important to teach them about family and community values.

HINDUISM(HINDU) The word “Hindu” is attributed to all people professing any indianreligion.It is believed that hindu is the world’s third largest religion.The word Hindu is derived from the Sanskrit word “sidhu”.Hindu may broadly be described as a way of life.

Definition

The BhagavatGita,a conversation between Lord Krishna and Arjuna before the start of Kurushetawar.It is described as a concise guide of hindu philosophy and belief.

Karma

In Sanskrit word karma means “actions” and refers to individual’s moral actions.

HINDU TECHNIQUE: Namaste greeting: The gesture of Namaste is by folding both palms of the hands before the heart.Namaste means to bring light in you. .

A temple is a place of worship to Hindus.

PRAYERS: Our day starts with prayers.First of all we pray to Lord sun by offering water.

HINHU WEDDING: Wedding is the bond of two people.There are a number of ceremonies;the functions start a week before the marriage,which include the haldi,sangeet and mehendiceremony.Music is the soul of every wedding celebration.Couples take 7 vows as an

oath to be together and respecting each other.The meal is served on a banayan leaf as it is a sign of purity.Finally the bride seeks her parents feet and goes to he husband’s home to start a new life with new hopes…………A married couple in their traditional dress…..

BIRTH>>>>>Everyone is joyful it a new member enter the family.A custom of 3 and 12 days is done.to ward off evil,a small “dot” often in the shape of OM is drawn behind the baby’s ear using kajal……..

ISLAM(MUSLIM) Muslim believe that God is one and incomparable and the purpose of existence is

to love and serve god.Muslim Technique:

They greet by telling”Assalamualaikum”.It is a sign of respect….

PRAYER AND PLCE OF WORSHIP: Rituals called “salat” is performed 5 times a day.They recite verses from the Qur’an.A mosque is a place of worship for muslims..

FASTING:Sawn of Ramadan……Fasting from drink and food must be perform from dawn to dusk during the month of “Ramadhan”.

PILGRIMAGE:Hajj-seven times around the kaaba is a ritual in hajj.

MARRIAGE: The Muslim wedding is known as “nikah”.

Their favourite dish is “briani”….. The majority of brides flavour a traditional white wedding dress……..

Finally there may be dancing,lot of noise and

hilarity… Muslim women are fond of Mehendi……..

BIRTH: 7 days after the infant’s birth,a ceremony is held in which the child’s name is given…

When baby boys are born they are supposed to be circumcised…..

WAY OF DRESSING: Women/girls- wear “hii-jaab” that is they cover their head and some of them their face…

FAMOUS FESTIVAL: The festival Eid-Ul-Fitr…………..

Prayer is begun by saying “Allahuakbar”that is “God is the most great”………

CONCLUSION:Therefore we conclude that religion does not inhibit the acquisition of wealth,it does not hold up large fortunes as evil,the tenor of reaching,by and large,is to induce an attitude of indifference to wondlythings,things which real goods of life are spiritual,love of things of the spirit and service of one’s fellowmen,joy of an ordered disciplined life.These are blessings that money cannot buy.Every religion asks a man to regard his wealth as a trust.Everyone holds it in trust from God to promote the goodness of mankind.All rights to private property are subject to this primary obligation to God and man….
