Mining Industry-Highly Dangerous

Mining , the single most dangerous industry with 23.5 deaths for every 100,000 workers ,till the end of 20th Century; Compared to equally hazardous Construction industry of only 12.2 deaths per 100,000 construction worker (Bureau of Labor Statistics)

Drastic improvement in Safety is seen since 2001, by improved Automation , less labourintensive, Modern mining Technology, increased robotic operation.

Dangers of mining

are related to roof

collapse, miners

buried alive.

Faulty mining equipment,

flooding, dust explosions,

and fire are common

hazards.

Gases,

including

carbon dioxide,

nitrogen, and

sulfur, can lead

to suffocation.

Many of these

gases are also

explosive.

Poor Lighting

Highly Dusty

Noisy

Low Ventilation

Labour intensive

The Medical Team serving Industries be made aware and educated on these problems , as most of them are related to Medico-Legal Issues faced by Doctors.
