Begg’s family farm Mock debate

On Friday, October 14th the Kindergarten class along with Mrs. Gaebler and Mrs. Vala-rie went to Begg's Family Farm. They had a great time! Here are some things that the students got a chance to do while visiting the farm. The first thing that they did was go on a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin. Afterwards, the students got to play, learn, and explore at the following at-tractions: -two large play areas -barnyard shootout -cow barn play area -wooden play fort -Betsy the milkable cow -a chicken coop -Billy goat tree -miner max maze -barrel racing -pig racing

The Delta High School Student Council hosted a mock presidential debate on Wednes-day, October 26, 2016. Senior Lydia Borneman played the role of Hillary Clinton and Junior Adam Hodge played the role of Donald Trump. The candidates answered ques-tions about education, healthcare, ISIS, immigration, the Supreme Court, guns, abortion and their fitness to be the next president. We were joined by Congressman Jason Smith who described his political beginnings, the importance of voting, and describing his job as a Congressman and then answered questions and signed autographs. The debate was attended by the 5th-12th grade students from the Delta School District. Zach Deck was dressed as Ken Bone who asked the questions.

Red ribbon week

Senior spotlight

Red Ribbon Week has to deal with drug free students. The sponsor for Red Ribbon Week is Counselor Heather Elfrink. During this week different kids go to the ele-mentary and talk to the kids about a drug free life. Throughout the school week we had a spirit week for “drug free’’. Monday: Mix match day “Bright Colors” to bright for drugs. Tuesday: Twin Day don’t let your best friend do drugs. Wednes-day: Nerd Day too smart for drugs. Thursday: Lay off drugs “Hawaiian themed”. Friday: Red, White, and Blue vote for my future to be drug free. Red Ribbon is very educational and important especially for the kids that have had rough lives because of their parents choosing that lifestyle. Thank you to all kids that partici-pated.

Club day JH boys conference tournament

Science Club-Science club students learned how to

create a robot that would color for them (so they would-n’t have to do all the coloring when Mrs. Hodge gives us coloring sheets for home work) with plastic cups, popsi-cle sticks, markers, and more items of their choice to

make each individuals’ unique.

Team spirit-Team

Spirit club members discussed field trip ide-as and drug prevention awareness ideas.

FBLA-FBLA discussed district contest and signed up for a district testing event.

FFA-They discussed selling beef sticks first and

then they discussed the Thanksgiving dinner. The fruit, meat, & cookie dough sales are supposed to be delivered Dec.4th & 5th. The Green hand confer-ence is Thursday, January 5th at Southeast MO

State University.

FCCLA-FCCLA members dis-

cussed sweetheart fundraiser ideas and sweetheart decoration ideas.

FSC-They were taught a les-

son on being nice. They got into a group and tried to make each other smile. They also discussed taking a field

trip to the nursing center.

The junior boys’ basketball team of 2016 has went 15-0. They finished up the season winning the Conference Tournament Championship and winning the conference. We are proud of these young men for working so hard all season. Its takes a lot of dedication and work ethic to make a whole season undefeated. You know everyone is gunning for you and wanting to stop your trip to an undefeated season. The boys played each game hard and with great composure. We would like to thank the Delta Bobcat cheerleaders for their strong support and continuing to rally us on each and every game. Thank you for a wonderful season.
