REASONS FOR WANTING TO BECOME A TRUSTEE:As a Trustee, I would have the responsibility to ensure that the
Fund complies with its legal, financial and ethical obligations.
On a practical level, as a Trustee I will ensure that the Fund is
accountable to its members and files its reports and accounts on
time. Furthermore, I will ensure the Fund upholds good governance.

REASONS FOR WANTING TO BECOME A TRUSTEE:I, Sandile Daweti am a worker leader and a member of Sizwe Medical
Aid in good standing. As a worker, I deal with employees’ benefits
on a daily basis together with HR at my workplace. I am a member of
the Benefits Committee at plant level. Even though we have medical
consultants that visit our plants on a weekly basis, employees will
come to me for assistance during their (consultants) absence. I have
matric and am able to articulate myself verbally and in writing. My
appointment will not only benefit members in my company but the
whole of the Eastern Cape. Lastly, I will also be visible at various
plants, and be able to see first-hand how medical aid brokers exercise
honesty and integrity - including impartiality.

contribute in the improvement of Sizwe Medical Fund. I have the

REASONS FOR WANTING TO BECOME A TRUSTEE:I would like to represent the needs of workers and make sure that
the Scheme becomes worker controlled. My experience as Provident
Fund Trustee has made me more interested in servicing the workers
in the medical fund board and I think I have the necessary skills to do
the job.

experience. I am currently serving as a BoT for Sizwe Medical Fund.
I am currently acting as the Human Relations Manager including
assisting employees to complete membership forms and submitting
them to Sechaba Medical Solutions for members. Our company is
100% Sizwe Medical fund member.

was a full time shopsteward. I serve in the NUMSA Eastern Cape
Region Finance Committee. I am a Regional Secretary of the Gender
Structure.

aid issues. I want to add value and my unique skills and experience
in the board whilst learning from others and promoting the medical
scheme. I want to ensure the board acts in the best interests of the

and is accountable to its members. I want to be actively involved
in promoting the good work and goals of the board. I want to

in the operation or function of our great medical fund. I have followed
with keen interest over a period of time in the functioning of this
glorious medical scheme. I also believe that I could bring innovative
inputs for the members’ welfare and for the growth of the scheme for
our generation and the next to come.

REASONS FOR WANTING TO BECOME A TRUSTEE:To take the Fund to the next level and grow the medical fund. As you
can see from my motions such as administration of the fund, this can
lead to cost saving and job creation. Explore other avenues in terms
of recruiting more members. To reinstate the legacy which the Fund
was formed for.
