Message
In the continuing celebration of our Ruby Jubilee, the Philippine College of Surgeons through the Committee on Conventions in coordination with the PCS Panay Chapter will conduct the PCS 42nd Midyear Convention on May 13-14, 2016 at the Iloilo Convention Center in Iloilo City. We would like to invite the students of surgery to take time out and make plans for this event. The multidisciplinary scientific program, aside from enhancing our surgical knowledge, also seeks to relate surgical practice with other stakeholders like PhilHealth, BIR, and foreign health providers. In behalf of the Board of Regents of the Philippine College of Surgeons, we would like to congratulate the PCS Panay Chapter for taking up the challenge to host this Midyear Convention.
I hope to share this wonderful experience with everyone. See you in the Land of The Dinagyang! GABRIEL L. MARTINEZ, MD, FPCS President Philippine College of Surgeons
Message On behalf of the Committee on Conventions and the Organizing Committee of our host Chapter, Panay, allow me to welcome you to “La Muy Leal Y Noble Ciudad” Iloilo. Our venue will be the Iloilo Convention Center designed by noted Ilonggo Architect William Conscolluela. The concrete trapezoids lining its facade are reminiscent of the “paraws” that used to ply the Iloilo Strait. In the pursuit for excellence in surgery and in alignment with the convention theme “Harmonizing Urban and Rural Surgical Practice”, the Committee and the Host Chapter have prepared a scientific program meant to be intellectually stimulating. In addition, we shall also conduct two internationally accredited courses: a pre-convention “Training the Trainers Workshop by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh with PATOS and a post-convention Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course by the American College of Surgeons with the PCS Committee on Trauma.
Wonderful Panay promises fun, food, fellowship, fiesta, fotos, footloose. Malipayon nga pag abot sa Ciudad sang Iloilo! ENRICO P. RAGAZA, MD, FPCS Vice President and Overall Chairman Committee on Conventions Philippine College of Surgeons
