Unfortunately, many people disregard the signs not to swim in unguarded areas, compromising their safety and the safety of others. To keep everyone safe, only swim in guarded areas and listen to the lifeguard signals. To reserve a picnic area please contact 1-877-OC-PARKS for an application. Children’s Safety Tips • Always have an adult nearby. Even if you’re a great swimmer, you never know when you might need help. • Set a good example so younger kids know how to behave. The lake is only safe when EVERYONE follows the rules. • Tell an adult if there’s a problem. You don’t want to get hurt, so let an adult take care of it. • Check the water depth. You don’t want to get hurt diving into water that’s too shallow. • Always wear sunscreen. Without it, you could end up with a painful sun burn, which can lead to other health problems. • No running! You could slip or trip - hurting not just yourself, but someone else as well. Rules and Regulations for Picnic Permits All picnic reservations for group sizes up to 74 people are takes on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications and payment must be submitted at least three (3) weeks before your requested date. www.oceancountyparks.org Ocean County Parks and Recreation A.
