is on 20th of April and I cannot wait to return home. I am writing to seek your permission to go on an outing after my exams. My school
friends and I have decided to go to Mahabaleshwar for four days, from 23rd to 27th of April. Mahabaleshwar is known for its beautiful hill point and scenic beauty. It’s truly a living paradise on earth. There is a sunset point, Wilson point, Eco-point, Bombay point, etc. which are ideal places to refresh one’s mind. It also offers boating and water sports.
There are seven of us. I am also planning to ask our neighbour, Faiza to tag along. Since she has been to the place before and is keen on visiting again, she wouldn’t mind accompanying me. The total cost of the trip would approximately be around ` 8,000, although it depends on the hotel that we shall book. Once we get a nod from all the parents, we’ll proceed further.
I’m really looking forward to this trip and I do hope you permit me to join in. Give my love to mother and little Roshan.
Yours lovingly, Anuja.

planning on visiting Mahabaleshwar for four days, from 23rd to 27th of April and I need some information regarding the same.

I would also like to know the entry fee and the accommodation facilities available at the place. We would prefer a hotel or lodging near Wilson Point. How far is the boat ride and other water sports from there? Is there any local transportation available or do we need to carry our personal vehicles? Let us also know about other places of tourist attraction in Mahabaleshwar and the best time to visit them during the day.
Thanking you, Yours faithfully, Anuja Mestry.

Keep Class Clean Competition Mumbai, 20th October, 2016. Students of class eighth, ninth and tenth recently participated in a competition aimed at
keeping their surroundings clean. Students from each division took the responsibility of their own classroom for a week. Around ten to twelve students arrived early every morning to dust and mop the floor, chairs, desks, etc. During lunch break, another set of students made sure that the waste was dumped into separate bins, titled wet and dry waste. At the end of the day, the rest of the class performed the task of recycling waste material. Wet garbage, like leftover food, banana peels, etc. was either buried in soil or sent to community biogas plant.
All the students were encouraged by their respective teachers to clean their surroundings. Students of standard IX B won the prize for the cleanest room at the end of the week, while class X A won the prize for proper disposition of waste. Principal Disha Shah gave a speech on ‘health problems due to unclean surroundings’ at the award ceremony and congratulated the students for their sincere efforts.
OR
A2. Speech Respected principal sir, vice-principal madam, my teachers and all my dear friends. A very
good morning to all of you. Today, I, Ketki Gaikwad, would like to speak about the importance of maintaining cleanliness.
Cleanliness is a fundamental responsibility of every citizen. Unhygienic living conditions give rise to a number of diseases and health problems. Littering on roads, throwing waste material in rivers and other water bodies cause land, water and air pollution.
We must maintain cleanliness not only for our sake, but also for the sake of other creatures. For example, plastic bags were recently found in the stomach of an innocent cow that had consumed food left on the side of the road along with the plastic. This shows that littering has threatened the very existence of living beings.
We can improve our conditions by maintaining our immediate surroundings—like our classroom, house and our travelling routes. Pledge to ban the use of plastic, separate wet and dry waste and recycle whenever possible. Do not throw away wrappers or leftover food on road. Clean up after every celebration. By taking small, individual steps, we can make our country a better place to live in.
