Chicken Scratch
A form of embroidery worked on gingham fabric.

Corn Board Painting
This painting will be completed on a long wooden board. You will be
expressing your own artistic creations.

Pick Up Sticks Quilt Technique
“Pick Up Sticks” will give you an opportunity to learn slic-
ing fabric & adding a “stick” to change the color composi-
tion of the quilt blocks. Learn to slice again to add a sec-
ond “stick” to rejoin with perfect intersections.
*Time: 9:30 am-1:30 pm *Teacher: Rita Hardman
*Cost: $10 *Skill Level: All levels with some sewing skills
*Students must bring: 20 pieces of varying prints, solids, and checks cut to 9.5 inch
squares; 20 strips cut to 1 inch long by 42 inches. These need to coordinate with 9.5 inch
squares so solids work well. The more variety the better. Sewing machine, neutral thread,
scissors, seam ripper, rotary cutter, design surface, cutting ruler, 1/4 inch seam marked for
stitching.
Woven Carolina Snowflake
The Carolina snowflake is an eight-pointed star-like form made
of cherry and maple splints that is a generous 15 inches in di-
ameter.

Silk Scarf painting
Silk scarf painting is easy and lets each person
express their own choice of colors and creative
expression.

*Students must bring: Empty spray bottle for water, old shirt or apron to protect clothing
Short/tall stool
A footstool to be bottomed with a twisted sea grass cord
with a triangular pattern.

Knitted Knockers
Handcrafted, soft, and lightweight prostheses for breast
cancer survivors. May be knitted or crocheted.

*Students must bring: Set of size 4 double pointed needles for knitted or size G crochet
hook for crocheting.
Upcycled Journal
Turn an old book into a personalized art journal.
*Time: 9:30 am-11:30 pm *Teacher: Melony Lane
*Cost: $8 *Skill Level: Beginner
*Students must bring: Scissors, used hard cover book (not too large).
Optional: Variety of ribbons, yarns to share, heavy weight papers, old
calendar photos are perfect!
Specialty greeting cards
Students will complete several (3-6) greeting cards, some simple, some more elabo-
rate in the construction and folding. Students will have a stamping basics refresher.
Finished folded cards are 4 1/4 inch by 5 1/2 inch.

Family Tree
You will make a family tree using assorted fabrics for leaves on which you
will write the names of family members. This makes a nice accent for any
room.

This wall basket makes a great door decoration for Christmas. It has green-
ery and a primitive tree on the front. This uses the EZ handle to weave and
is lots of fun!
