Blue Hill Partners with Optimum Lightpath, DataNet and Verizon to offer Redundant Central Office IP Communications
Blue Hill connectivity is served by multiple ISP carriers, including Optimum Lightpath, DataNet and Verizon. Optimum Lightpath runs fiber directly into Blue Hill’s data center from two diverse paths providing virtually unlimited bandwidth capabilities and high speed Internet access. Lightpath provides point-to-point Metro Ethernet connectivity directly from Blue Hill to our client’s locations on the network throughout the New York Tri-State area, enabling high availability services and high capacity data transfer. DataNet provides similar resources and additional connectivity to the Upstate New York and Connecticut areas. Verizon has automatic, dual redundant OC-192 communications access from two distinct locations into the Blue Hill complex. This allows Blue Hill to offer clients economical connectivity to a world class data center. With multiple ISP’s Blue Hill offers fully redundant ingress and egress Internet access which is provided through the use of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) across all providers. BGP routing protocol used to exchange routing information across the Internet makes it possible for ISP’s to connect to each other and for end-users to connect to more than one ISP automatically. BGP is designed to handle a network the size of the Internet, and successfully manage multiple connections to unrelated routing domains. The BGP solution at Blue Hill provides clients with automatic dual and redundant paths via IP.
