Pre-Regional Mathematics Olympiad was conducted on 25 August 2019 in AECS Kaiga. The students participated and qualified for the Regional Mathematics Olympiad are S. Ashiq of Class 11 A Niranjan Rajeev of Class 10 B, M. Sairam Suhas of Class 9B and Jagadish Sunil Pednekar Class 8 B. The result of Regional Mathematics Olympiad is awaited. Mrs Mini Maria Tomy, PGT-Maths was in charge of PRMO.

Green Olympiad: Green Olympiad is a written examination conducted annually to create awareness about energy and resources available around us. This year about 149 students from classes IV-X enrolled for the same and Mrs Jyoti Gonsalves, TGT (Chem. /Bio.) was the coordinator from Secondary Classes, While Mr Ajit Shankar Madhale coordinated the activities for the primary.
Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) conducts an exam annually to identify and train students with exceptional inclination in Physics. This exam was conducted on 24 November, 2019 in our school. About 13 students enrolled for the same. 9 students took NSEP for Physics, 6 students NSEC for Chemistry, 3 NSEB for Biology and 3 in NSEA for Astronomy. IAPT for the junior level was held on 17 November, 2019 and about 11 students attempted the exam. The result is expected in January. Mr D. Jayakumar, PGT (Physics) was in-charge of it.
Wild Wisdom Quiz: The World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) conducts an online quiz annually for raising awareness about wildlife among young children. The 11th edition of this was conducted in AECS, Kaiga on 19 November, 2019. The following students cleared the school level quiz and entered the state level round. Mr Amol Pathak- TGT-English and Mr Prem Chand Yadav PRT (SS) were in charges of it at the Primary and Secondary levels respectively.

Vidhyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) exam was organized in two spells in the school on 24 & 30 November, 2019. Students logged in successfully for it and finished it neatly. 69 Students of Classes VI - X participated in this. Mrs Jyoti Gonsalves TGT (Chem/Bio) coordinated the event. Two students, B. R. Darsha- Class VI & Anish Mukherjee- Class IX got selected for State Level Camp.

We call it a league that helps the management in calling shots. The competent assemblage of teachers who sculpt every bit of the young minds entrusted with us. Mr K. Ramachandran, Principal, Mrs. Roma Kachhap, Vice- Principal marshal the academic and co-curricular ventures of the school assisted by various heads of the departments and committees at the Primary, Secondary and the Senior secondary levels. This comprises 7 PGTs, 17 TGTs including a Special Educator, 21 PRTs, 2 Prep Teachers, 1 Lab Assistant, 5 teachers on contract in TGTs and 6 in PRTs The support force include 3 at the Office, 5 work assistants and 10 CMC workers.
SCHOOL ASSEMBLY“Well- begun is half done!”
The school assembly is the index to the day’s activities. Keeping this in mind we have introduced a variety of activities in the assembly so that the students’ talents go from trickle to torrent. Assembly in Kannada has been introduced. Separate assemblies for Primary and secondary enable an enhanced attention and focused age- specific activities. Mrs. Meenakshi V. (PGT-English) is in charge of the assembly activities.

INVESTITURE CEREMONYDreaming for success comes from working for it. Students of our school are trained to take up small leadership roles from a small age. This inculcates a sense of responsibility and astuteness in them. The investiture ceremony is the initiation of their role-modelling for the year. The newly constituted council took charge of the school activities on 2 July, 2019. The programme was presided over by the Chairman, LMC and Site Director, Shri R. Satyanarayana. Ms Mahima M Naik of Class XII- A is the School Captain and Savio John of Class XI- A is the School Vice-Captain for the Secondary, Ms Apoorva Harish & Jay Joshi of Class V-B are Captains for Girls and Boys respectively at the Primary level.
SCIENCE EXHIBITIONA School level Maths /Science/ Social Science and Teaching Aids Exhibition was conducted on 12July 2019. There were about 58 projects in Jr. Science and 6 entries in Sr. Science while

there were 40 projects in Jr. Social Science and 17 in Mathematics from the senior category. A team of experts was constituted by Chairman LMC and Site Director to adjudge the entries. The winners represented our School in AECS 2, Hyderabad on 20 & 21October 2019. They students put on a valiant show. Master Renish D’souza of Class IX-C clinched the consolation position for his project on ‘Tsunami Mitigation Strategies’ while the Judges’ Special Prize was given to Ms Prerna P of Class VII for her avid spirit and uncanny understanding of concepts. Mr Amol Pathak and Mr Ravindra Singh presented their teaching aids in the exhibition. Mr Pramod Kumar and Mrs Mini Thomas were the coordinators for secondary and primary respectively.

The best class award is constituted this year to encourage the students to maintain their immediate surroundings in a productive and healthier way. The best classes are chosen on month long observation with regard to neat uniform, discipline inside and outside the class, maintenance of school property, keeping the class bulletin boards informative, proactiveness and commitment towards learning, respect for teachers and so on. Lyrical Legacy: AECS, Kaiga has a long history of leaving formidable imprints in dance and music in AEES circles. Here is a glimpse of musical trainings that have become a part of every child’s growing up. Mr Tapan Kumar Chakraborty, Music Teacher is the Kapellmeister of AECS, Kaiga’s musical strivings.
A contingent of 20 participants represented the school in the Inter- AECS Cultural Music Meet held between 8-10 November at Narora, Uttar Pradesh. The participants took part in vocal classical and light (Solo), group, percussion and string instruments category. Though they could not clinch any prize, they put on a valiant show.

Time and Tide: Automatic School bell system is installed in AECS, Kaiga to facilitate rightly timed periods and avoidance of human error in ascertainment. A digital clock has also been installed at the school entrance. All the classrooms are fitted with clocks too.

FROM THE ANNALSInternational Yoga Day: 5th International Yoga Day was observed in AECS, Kaiga on 21 June 2019. The students of our school experienced the unity of body, mind and soul through yogic practices. It is recognized as a powerful activism to orient the world towards healthy living. The renowned yoga exponents of Kaiga Township honoured the school with their presence. Independence Day: 73rd Independence Day was celebrated on 15 August, 2019 with pomp and show this year too. While the colony was still limping back to normalcy due to the floods that battered the spirits of the people, the management and the school showed a great spirit in pronouncing solidarity and never-say die spirit announcing the world ‘Hum honge Kamiyab.’
Sadbhavana Diwas: ‘Sadbhavana’, is the resolve to be the embodiments of goodwill even at the face of unfairness. The day aims to celebrate the bonafide spirit of the former Prime Minister late Shri Rajiv Gandhi. The day, 20 August, 2019 was marked by a special assembly for paying obeisance to the leader. Ms Deona Braganza of Class VIII A and Mr Nilesh Pandya, TGT (Hin. /Sans.) shared their views on the leader and his vision for India in English and Hindi respectively.
Teachers Day: A good teacher is the one who teaches from the heart and not from the book. The heart that speaks is always fondly remembered and honoured rightly by the students year after year. This year too Teachers Day was celebrated with a great splendor on 5 September 2019. Students of Class XI & XII put themselves in to the shoes of their teachers and experienced how it feels it to be educators. They also put on a grand show

Hindi Diwas: Hindi Diwas is the day of commemoration of adaptation of Hindi Language as one of the two official languages. Competitions were conducted in our school on 14 September 2019 to identify and honour the distinguishable bent of students towards Hindi Language and expression. Mr Vikram Singh Yogi, TGT (Hin – Sanskrit) and Mr Shiv Shanker Gautam coordinated the programmes at the Primary and the secondary levels.
Children’s Day: A memorable day in the history of AECS, Kaiga; the children’s day was celebrated on 14 November, 2019 with joy and fervor. The day was a treat for the children as the school decided to hold its CCA Group Dance Competition in the Recreation Club on that day. It was followed by a film screening of “Mission Mangal” for the older group. Children enjoyed it out and out and felt that this day would be treasured in their memory forever.

CCA Day: The grand finale of co-curricular activities for the year was held on 23 November 2019. The Site Director and Chairman LMC, Shri R. Satyanarayana graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Smt Sheela Satyanarayana illumed the event with her graceful presence. Shri N Nagaich, former Director, HR, NPCIL was the special guest for the occasion. Abdul Kalam House was the Winner of the year and J.C. Bose is the Runners-up at the primary level and at the secondary level it is J C Bose & Abdul Kalam houses were winners and runners up.
Annual Sports Meet: 31stAnnual Sports Meet was celebrated with great enthusiasm in AECS Kaiga on 5 December, 2019. Site Director & Chairman LMC graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the day. As many as 326 sporting champions were honoured. The March past by the four house stole the show. There was a series of aerobics exercise performed in synchrony was the jewel in the crown. OBSERVANCESSwatchhta Pakwada: As part of Swatchch Bharath Abhiyan, a cleaning drive was taken up by the NCC Unit of AECS, Kaiga in Mallapur Village on 20 October, 2019. The cadets showed a great spirit in cleaning up the neighbourhood and awakening mindfulness among the residents. The team was headed by our jubilant commandants Mr Nikhil Surendra Hatwalane and Mr Bhupendra Thakur and their camaraderie of colleagues and cadets. There were also special programmes in the assembly all through the throughout the week insisting upon the theme of the year, ‘Plastic Waste Awareness and Management'

Vigilance Awareness Week is observed every year in the last week of October to prod the collective consciousness of the citizens of today and tomorrow in the prevention and foil of corruption of any form. In connection with this AECS, Kaiga conducted various activities from 28 Oct.-02 Nov., 2019 to create awareness among the young citizens about the nature, extent and the consequences of the extant scenario. Rangoli, Slogan Writing, poster drawing, essay writing were conducted by the NPCIL Management. The winners were suitably rewarded at the plant site. The school too organized a rally and a marathon run to bring the public also into awareness loop. Various activities in the assembly drove home the point that corruption, an evil has to be stopped hook or crook. A pledge was

Constitution Day was celebrated with a great zeal in Atomic Energy Central School, Kaiga, on 26 November, 2019. Mr. K.P Ganesh, TGT (So. Sc) elaborated upon the aspects of Indian Constitution, its formation, deliberations, and protection of rights of every individual. Mr K. Ramachandran, Principal spoke on how hard earned our freedom is and how protected we are through such erudite constitution. He also insisted on the responsibility that we hold as citizens to protect, preserve and uphold the values our constitution imparts.

Parent Teacher Meeting: Parent Teacher Meetings were conducted twice so far for all the classes. There was a special meeting with the parents of Class X Students once on 26 August, 2019. The Site Director and Chairman LMC and his team of LMC members analyzed the result and counselled the students to perform better and parents to play a supportive role in preparation. Yet another meeting with the parents of late bloomers was once organized on 18 November, 2019. The Project Director 5 &6 Mr Ali Desnavi chaired the meeting and gave his suggestions to the parents for helping children coping up with stress

Firebrands: Inter AECS Debate in Hindi was held in AECS, Manuguru on 28 August, 2019. The students of our school Ms. Tehseen Peerzade of 12-A and Anjali Kumari of 11- A won the zonal level against and qualified for the national level. In Limbo and shining: The wonder child of our school master Mohammed Saqib of I D has made the heads whirl with his phenomenal stunts in limbo skating. He has achieved quite an impossible feat that wasn’t easy for his age. Master Saqib has got mentioned specially in the Record Holder Republic Records (UK), Perfect Book of World Records, International Book of World Records, High Range Book of World Records, Asian Book of World Records, India Book of Records and Limca book of Records for his continuous 25 minutes Limbo spinning for about 1030 times.

Frigid Sport- Torrid Fight: The Junior girls’ team consisting Keerti Hukkeri, Yukthi Shree, Prathiksha, Sandhya, Adishree and Abhignya had got selected to represent Karnataka in the 56thNational Roller Skating Hockey Tournament held in Vizag and bagged the bronze medal. Keerti Hukkeri of Class X got an opportunity to represent India in roller skating hockey. She is the first female to enter the International arena from Karnataka. She had a chance to represent India in Barcelona and was the part of the team that got India its covetous 5th position.

Monumental! Ain’t it!? The Hindu Young World conducts a photo contest to bring to light the monuments that languish in silence in unknown corners of our country. “Somewhere Special” has featured a “someone special” of our school, Niranjana Rajkumar of Class VIII C, whose entry of Karwar Warship Museum got selected for publication.
Conserve and Convey: In keeping with creating an awareness on Energy conservation, the Ministry of Power, Government of India organized a state level drawing competition for children on 14 November 2019. Two of our champs Master K Rohit of class VI-B (Junior Category) and Miss Shrejal Rout of Class VIII-C (Senior Category) of our school clinched the consolation position at the state level painting competition conducted by CPRI, Bangaluru. Both secured a cash Prize cash worth 7500 each. Kudos to them.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENTZeal Mill: Mr Nikhil Surendra Hatwalane, PRT, AECS Kaiga has completed successfully the Associate NCC training in Officers’ Training Academy, Kamptee, Nagpur for the Third Officer for NCC Naval Unit, Junior Division. He underwent a rigourous training session that lasted for 60 days under the proficient guidance of Officers of Army and Navy.
Enriched and Enthused: Three of our teachers, Mrs Jyoti Gonsalves, Mr Ravindra Singh and Mr Debendra Meher had the privilege of being nominated among 20 of other AECS teachers to the prestigious Teacher Training Programme conducted by the international experts and educators from CERN and Eco Point at Shiv Nadar School, Noida, between 22 and 26 April, 2019.

Graduate Electoral Identity: A voter awareness and enrolment campaign for graduates and teachers was organized at AECS Kaiga on 5 November, 2019.There was a meeting convened by the Principal presided by Shri D.R Naik, a social worker and lecturer from Mallikarjun College, Karwar along with Shri Harish Naik explained their purpose of visit and urged teachers and the graduate members of their family to enroll for the same. Inoculation: As per the universal Immunization protocol by the Government of India, the annual school immunization schedule campaign was organized in AECS, Kaiga on19 November, 2019 through the State Health Department. According to which, a DPT vaccination programme for children aged 5-6 years and TD vaccine for children aged between10 -11 and 16 years were inoculated on that day.
Art of Parenting: A talk on efficient parenting was organized at the school auditorium on 4 December, 2019. Shri Anadi Sinha, Outstanding Scientist & Associate Director, HR, NPCIL, Mumbai enthralled the audience with his informative talk and jovial disposition.
Adolescent Education: A talk on ‘Adolescent Education’ and Personal Hygiene was organized in the school for the girls of 6-9 in particular at the School auditorium on 7 December, 2019. Dr Anjali Gadgil, Medical Officer- G, KGS Hospital and former LMC Member gave an informative talk on much needed topics of personal hygiene and safety to the students of the target group.

Karwar District Sports Association conducted a Taluka level Athletic Meet in Maladevi Ground on 17 October, 2019 and Master Sunnyfun from Class 9-A won the 3rd prize in 100 Meters in under- 16 Category.
Master Mohan Patil of Class 10-B won the 1st Position in 200 meter race in Under 16 Category and U-18 Categories.
CBSE 8th Cluster Level Kabaddi Tournament 2019-20 was held in Sri Rajeshwari Vidhya Mandir from 28 September - 1st October 2019, Hulkoti, Gadag, Karnataka. Our Boys’ team consisting Preetesh C. Bandekar, Sankalp Naik, Samarth Premanand Naik, Mahaan N. Bhat, Nakul Raju Naik and Manish Khataokar of 12-A, Pratik Shetty of 12 B, Shankaranand Anand Mahale of 11-A and Mohan V. Patil of 10 A won the 2nd Runners-up position.
8th CBSE Cluster Level Athletic Meet for the year was held at Shikaripura, Shivmoga, Karnataka from 1-5 October, 2019. Master Mohan Patil won bronze in 100m and 200m respectively in U-17 Boys’ Category. Master Sankalp Naik sealed it with a Silver in Javelin Throw for U-19 boys. Arbaz Shaikh took part in Shot put forU-17 boys and Deona Braganza of Class VIII-A took part in U-14 Shot-put in Girls’ Category. Sachin Sharma of Class X-C took part in 800m for U-17 Boys, Nizba Khan in 100 and 200 M for U-17 Girls, Sunnyfun Fernando in 400m for Under 17 Boys and Krish Kumar in 100m and 200 m for Boys participated in the same with a great zeal and put on a brave fight.
