PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE

Scientific and technical support

Scientific Research Centre (SRC) for bituminous materials under patronage of Gazprom Neft implements the full cycle of field and laboratory tests of bitumen, bitumen derivatives, and asphalt-concrete mixtures. Owing to the high level of expertise, the SRC has independent laboratories in several Russian regions under the "Road Safety and Quality" Federal Project.

Engineering

Technical capabilities of the company enable simulation of actual traffic loads, traffic intensity and patterns, as well as climatic conditions in different regions. SRC experts develop individual recipes of bituminous materials and asphalt-concrete for each particular case of operational conditions and subject to analysis of local inert materials: crushed rock and sand.

Training

The Training Facility at the Scientific Research Centre offers customers technical sessions and training workshops regarding the methods of studying binders and asphalt-concretes, methods of selecting and applying bitumen products and bitumen derivatives, development of standardization guidelines.

BITUMEN-POLYMER JUNCTION TAPES

Page 15: BITUMEN - BALTIA OIL

"BRIT" BITUMEN MATERIALS 15

"BRIT-A" AND "BRIT-SMA" BITUMEN-POLYMER JUNCTION TAPES

A specialized material for arrangement of longitudinal and transverse construction butt joints of cement-concrete surfaces of motor roads, junction joints, detachable reinforced-concrete structures butt joints waterproofing

Application Scope

Sealing construction joints of road surfaces made of hot asphalt-concrete mixtures ("BRIT-A" tape) and of macadam-mastic asphalt-concrete mixtures ("BRIT-SMA" tape), arranging junctions to motor road surfaces, pavements, buildings, structures, border stone, gutters, foundations, railways, inspection well hatches; arranging joints between foundation slabs and panels.

The sealing efficiency is achieved due to the tape material melting when subjected to high temperature of the mixture and due to formation of a protective layer during compaction, which results in reduction in water saturation rate of asphalt-concrete in the joint area and prevention of shrinkage cracks formation across the coating.

Advantages

• Reduction in water saturation rate in the cold joint by 45% on average.

• Excellent resistance of junctions to continuous cycles of freezing and thawing.

• Reliable sealing of butt joints — applying the BRIT® junction tape doubles the strength of butt joints compared to traditional-technology joints.

• A simple unified technology of application.

Packaging
