Program Director’s Report for 2/2016
Knights’ Reporter
As was written in Colombia Magazine, the Supreme Knight wants Councils to become more parish oriented. The emphasis is to become what can the Councils do for the parishes, and what can the parishes do for the Knights. This subject was presented at the last directors’ meeting, as well as the officer meeting. The Service Programs are going to need to refocus the activities to
accomplish this goal of the Supreme Knight.
As this change will take some time, we are continuing with various activities. Please take advantage of the spiritual events outlined under Church Activities as we go through the Lenten Season. The Council is also hosting a Shrove Tuesday Supper and Communion
Breakfast.
Michael Colbourne has planned a number of wonderful events to be held on the third Mondays of the month. Please see his report
and flyers elsewhere in this newsletter.

Also with the increase in calls recently, they are in need of counselors. If you know a faithful Christian professional counselor who may be interested in joining the counseling network (for pro bono, reduced fee, or insurance-billed counseling), please let them know. Interested persons can contact Johanna Coughlin, JD …cell: (410) 707-9842 and see here for details on all programs:

If you haven’t yet, please sign up for alerts from Maryland Against Physician Assisted Suicide at www.stopassistedsuicidemd.org . There are fact sheets and lobbying alerts available from the coalition. Father Francis Ouma, (a Bishop Sebastian Knight?) of Immaculate Conception in Towson, is asking Bishop Sebastian Council for help. In January, working with the Pregnancy Center North, he will be doing research to develop a curriculum to council the fathers of children who are in danger of being aborted, or who have already made that terrible decision. Father Francis is asking for personnel resources from Bishop Sebastian Council for activities and support as he develops his program. I’ll update everyone as his plans and needs
become more specific.

Council Activities - Steve Radziminski 410–663-6107
We hope that everyone had a great holiday season. After a lull in January, there are a number of Council Activities coming up for
you to become involved.
On Tuesday February 9, 2016, the Council is holding a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper. The event is being chaired by Tom Stevenson Sr. The cost will be $8 per person if you make a reservation in advance, or $10 if you just walk up to door. You are urge to make a reservation in advance in that it will save you $2 per person, and it will help the chefs prepare enough food. So, come to the Council Hall, starting at 6 PM lasting until 8 PM, and enjoy
the pancakes before Lent begins.
The details are not yet final, but the annual Council Communion Breakfast will be held on a Sunday in April. In order to bring the cost down, the breakfast will probably be held at the Council Hall. Final details as to date, time, and cost should be forth coming
soon.
The Princess Royale Hotel is full for the convention, but rooms are still available at its bayside location if you would like to go to the State Convention. It will be held on May 13, 14, & 15. Ray Cilento will be glad to give you information, but reservations must be made on line. The Convention promises to be a great time for those who attend. Think
about it!
Again plans are in the preliminary stage, the Honoree Banquet is coming, probably either
