From Our Minister…
Dear Folks,
Summer has certainly flown by. The old
saying is so true, “Time waits for no one.”
Minutes, hours, days, weeks, month, years,
and decades pass. One day you are a school
kid, the next a senior citizen.
Each passing year brings change and uncertainty. But, no matter the
change or uncertainty, God, who transcends time and space is
constant.
With God in our lives and in our hearts, we can face the days with
hope and strength. And, in Christ, we know that God wants what is
best for each one of us, an abundant life. So, that is up to us to
embrace this life, working not just for ourselves, but for all
humanity, so others may have a chance for that abundance as well.
It is using the time we have to enjoy life, to live life to the fullest,
to give with grace and love with passion.
“Time waits for no one” is true, but, we can make the most of the
time we have, trusting in God, and showing God’s love throughout
the whole of our lives.
In Christ’s love,
Rev. Lucille

“Dear the Huntington Congregational Church,
Thank you so much for your generosity in giving out these
scholarships. I will be attending Northeastern University in the
upcoming Fall to pursue a Computer Engineering degree. As college
costs increase exponentially and annually, and I look over the long list
or required items for college, I am even more grateful for the church’s
generosity. Thank you again for your vote of confidence in my future.
Sincerely,
David Keith”
“To whom it may concern,
Thank you for the scholarship. This scholarship helps tremendously
with the books I need to continue my education. Once again thank you
very much.
- Quinton Hongo”
“Hi Everyone,
I want to thank you all for the scholarship for school! With prices of
books and tuition continuously going up, every bit counts and I am
fortunate to count on all your generosity. Being up at UConn from my
church family is hard, but I keep you all in my thoughts as I move
forward though the rest of this year and always. I am excited to see a
light at the end of the tunnel and that light with be reached (fingers-
crossed no bumps) in 3 semesters! Miss you all and thank you again!
Joyful Love,
Ace Ricker
(Thank you continued)
“I just wanted to thank the Church Council for rewarding me with
a scholarship. That money will be used to purchase my school
books for the semester.
Thank you again, Matthew Zelanin”

WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP NEWS
Gifts of the Heart School Supplies Needed
HCC-UCC Women’s Fellowship will be participating in filling
the Gifts of the Heart school bag kits in the spring of next year.
Children’s School Bags are always needed by Church World

country and around the world.
Since school supplies are readily available and reasonable as we
prepare our children for school, while shopping for your children, can
you help our WF fill our goal of 50 school kits by donating one or
more of the following items:
Items needed for each kit are:
~ 3 spiral notebooks-70 count ~1 pair blunt scissors (rounded)
~ 1 hand-held pencil sharpener ~ 6 new pencils w/erasers
~ 1 12” ruler (30 centimeters) ~1 box 24 crayons (only 24)
~ 1 large eraser
Please leave any gifts in the CWS Box in Fellowship Hall.
Many thanks for your help with our mission project.

Interested in making Christmas crafts? Crafters are meeting every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in Reuman House. No experience necessary.
