tower grove parkA gift from Henry Shaw to the citizens of St. Louis, Tower Grove Park is home to Victorian pavilions, sculptures, and more than 8,000 trees and shrubs. Park hours are from dawn to 10 p.m. daily. Free.
Directions: From The Garden’s parking lot, turn right onto Shaw Blvd. Turn right onto Tower Grove Ave, then proceed across Magnolia Ave into the park.

The Missouri Botanical Garden and Tower Grove Park were both founded by Henry Shaw. Both were originally prairie grasslands in the 1860s and slowly became semi-woodland as trees and shrubs were planted.
